- You had to know this was coming, right?
Very early on in my tenure as a Vinyl Fridayist, several of the commenters pointed me in the direction of an unofficial sister show, Vinyl Monday. I'm beyond pleased that they did, because the show, which perfectly balances music history against entertainment, is on my regular roster of favourite CZcamsrs. We got to talking, and that was nice, so we kept it up. Before too long, we thought it might be a fun idea to invite you, dear viewer, along for the ride.
So although this is neither Monday NOR Friday (further confused by the fact that my show releases on her Thursday, and hers on my Tuesday!), please join us in a spot of musically-themed repartee. We hope you will enjoy the show.

Thanks so much, Abby, not only for taking part in this thoroughly-enjoyed Q+A, but also for making it possible for there to even BE a Vinyl Weekday Extended Cinematic Universe Crossover Event. Now we've just gotta find Vinyls Tuesday through Thursday and we'll be set. Like Vinyl Power Rangers or something. Who knows what we'd be capable of?
No animals were harmed in the making of this video; they merely disgruntled.
Happy not-Monday-nor-Friday, folks.

Fathom albums "The World to Breathe" and "Modern Reflections, Vol. 1" are also available on all streaming platforms. Tweed's album "High Brow Blues" is also ALSO available on all streaming platforms!
Greatest crossover in the music world since Queen teamed up with David Bowie
a fair assessment that 8 hours later i'm finally getting to watch.
I wonder who will rip off the bassline of this video.
I discovered Fathom through Abby, two great channels! Thanks so much for all the great videos!
Thank you for watching! :)
Discovered them separately. This crossover was a nice surprise!
I was fortune enough to see John cage's 4:33 live once, and at 2:17 I let a loud, juicy fart.
It was magical!
Four FARTY three 😂
I get to hear John Cage's 4:33 all the time 😂
What a lovely crossover
I love both your channels and this crossover episode is the best thing ever
Nancy- PLEASE do The Dukes of Sratosphear --
I cannot stand the idea of waiting, so long to hear XTC!
YES!!!!!!
I maaaay be persuaded to sneak preview XTC. I do adore that band, and I do have a LOT of their albums...
super heart-warming collab!
Well now I'M crying! Thanks, Nance!
My pleasure! 😅
i saw your face for the first time last night and you deserve the tribute prestigious university attender! you're also keeping me from paying attention (not your fault).
SKYLARKING!!!!!!!!!
I remember joking about needing five more vinyl weekdays when I found your channel, since I had also discovered Abby around the same time. I don't know if that was the comment that made you aware of each other, but I'm so glad you became friends!
Just in case, thank you!
Great insights into your musical minds.
Love!!! So excited to dig into the songs mentioned that were new to me. Both channels are amazing. ❤
I’m Puerto Rican and I know about Juan Luis Guerra. He’s a great artist anyway what I wanted to say about music is that when I lived in Puerto Rico as Teenager our mainstream radio stations played both Spanish and English music. Their top 10 music list was made up of English and Spanish songs. I feel blessed that my mother made sure that I could speak and understand both English and Spanish because of this I feel fortunate because I can enjoy both English and Spanish music. As a singer songwriter myself I enjoy singing in both English and in Spanish , however I only write songs in English because it feels easier for me.
Juan Luis guerra es uno de los más grandes cantantes latinos de todos los tiempos ...bachata rosa es uno de los más grandes albums de la historia!!! En chile amamos a Juan Luis guerra y 4:40 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
I'm so pleased to hear it! On my Vinyl Friday show I go through my records alphabetically (with the exception of miniseries), and we're currently up to the letter "G"...
Glad to know there may be some fellow fans when I get to "Guerra"!
Wonderful episode - two of my favourite Tubas. Thank you 😊
Awesome superhero crossover! Great to see you together and thanks for a great video!
“Music is the wine that fills the cup of silence.¨ - Robert Fripp. Or as I like to put it, music is the space between the sound.
Ooooo..LOVE You both ❤❤ ...."n" the Beatles
To both of you, dig your style....Aloha
So glad to see 2 of my fav ladies together at last!
See ya every Fri&Mon Nancy&Abby. 😏
I’m glad that you two have gotten together; It’s musical destiny! 24:21 🎵😎🕉🌸
Yes I'm another Vinyl Monday addict and I just randomly discovered your channel and subscribed, and it's strange you got Abigail on as a guest, cause that's the way I discovered her too....
I also suffer rural world problems-Yes, shipping bites but most folks are cool and do a hell of a job packing.
I grew up lucky enough to come of age, working in a record store in the 80’s, a couple in fact. Albatross Records in Florence was my last event and it was glorious. Cool older dude who was there, back in the day. It wasn’t how pretty and hip the walls were. Just records. He’d put any disk on I wanted to hear. Problem is I forgot, we forgot and I walked out with records I wanted. Fleetwood Mac self titled with Peter Green. Love his vibe. A band that listened well to one another and just banged it out. Man did I spend a dime.
This was great!❤
Nancy, we took you to Juan Luis Guerra concert when you were 2 y.o. and would like some credit.
Omg theres two of them
That was brilliant. You two have made my week. Your passion and insight is inspirational! Thanks so much ❤
Vinyl Friday and vinyl Monday finally meet 🎉
Well I came here from abbey so it’s exciting to see someone else that reviews their favorite vinyl
Love my vinyl ladies! So great to see y'all together! Insightful q & A's too! Thanks! Y'all must do again! ❤❤❤
This is awesome
Let's hope its not a 1 and done thing
opens up so many roads
discovering unknown artist
I just subscribed
suggested album for 10
Brian Wilson/At My Piano
I really enjoyed this. Now I will have to check out Fathom to catch her views on music albums. Thank you both.......
Awesome collab.
So lovely to see the meeting of two like minds. I'm a Abby follower and will look forward to subscribing to Fathom's show as well!
I want to join the chorus of fans requesting, nay demanding, a look into the greatness that was XTC. So many entry points there, the Beefheart meets The Monkeys new wave weirdness of White Music, the triumphant bombast of Black Sea, the expansive mastery of English Settlement, the psychedelic fun of the Dukes of Stratosphear, the organic wonder of Skylarking or the transcendent beauty of Apple Venus Vol I. Take your pick. My journey with this band started in 1980 when I saw them open for The Police in Seattle. The audience was gobsmacked by both bands, but the sense was that something very important was going on with XTC. By '82 they had quit touring but continued a trickle of albums up until 2000, a recording lifespan of 22 years. Great stuff there, something to dig your teeth into.
XTC is one of my all-time favourites. Not to worry, they will show up at some point!
you can get by with a little help from your friends.
I gave myself a present last week, the white album (giles martin): 45 pounds. as i walked out the door I saw in the singles rack that green apple, juniors farm, had to go back and pay for it (annoyed/ not annoyed going over budget. 'ah you couldn't make it past the door could you' the assistant said. or the guy noticing the silver slow dive sticker on my phone case and beginning a conversation. adventures in being out there buying physical copies.
what personalities you both have. no wonder people want to watch you both sat down with your coffee talking about music: a cafe on st mark's square, venice, maybe someday? what y'mean i'm not invited.
Excellent! Looking forward to more. 🙂
Oh wow, Skylarking at 16. "Summer's Cauldron" is exquisite.
jI know!!! I'm an XTC freak! My love for that band knows no bounds.
@@randydoak6638 one of my favourite bands! 🙂
I KNEW PARCELS WAS COMING
Yay!!!
Silence in Music … RIP Mark Hollis
What makes a great album? Paul McCartney. Try Ram. Thanks, ladies, for thought provocation.
When worlds collide!
Hi Nancy! I´m curious, how come you have a Charly García t-shirt?
It's because I *adore* a lot of Charly's albums :) Maquina de hacer pajaros, Seru Giran, his solo album Clics Modernos... Great music!
@@fathommusicnz Thanks for the answer. Your channel is fantastic, I'm watching the Revolver episodes now!
I follow both of your channels. I am a fan of the content and your presentation. I find both of you very appealing. Thanks.
Some good selections, I'd like to see some Joan Armatrading on YT reactions and some Van Morrison (talk about spiritual). The question of talent vs. passion is why I always lean toward Lennon's Beatles songs over McCartney's.
On my Vinyl Friday show, I go through my albums alphabetically, so Joan was one of the first albums I covered. Of course, I was very fresh to this CZcamsr business when I put those out, so I will almost certainly be revisiting her body of work in the future!

RiP Melanie 😢 xx
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Rush and Mr. Lee. But there is something ironic about him singing the first line of Spirit.
Did Abigail have her dance moves edited out?
I would never! 😂
the internet should consider itself lucky i don’t have the room with my setup to dance
Must be something in the water are you girls kidding
Thanks to the video speaking of renting they used to be a store called rent a record he got a big trouble cuz none of the artists are getting royalties and they shut him down so he had a sale he was selling record crates $150 albums in a box for a dollar we went crazy that was a long time ago yep you can't rent a record but it was fun I remember when Peaches went out of business everything was 49 cents on the last day London Calling David Bowie Etc I bought 20 crates it was crazy one guy bought a whole semi load that was back in the day when nobody wanted recordsHave a great day
