    Perhaps you would consider showing how to do a counter with an overhanging bar top?

    Love your videos. Such beautiful work. I've started the process to epoxy my bathroom countertop and this will be my first time working with epoxy. I've run into a situation that I haven't seen an example of and wondered if you had any ideas. How do I dam off a tiled in under mounted sink? The sink is built in but I don't want to epoxy it. And the built-in back splash also lands directly on the back of the sink basin. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

    Great job on the video! Very good info for those who have no idea, or need a little confidence builder that theyre on the right track. And a good reminder to professionals to go the extra distance with their prep work. A change of subject, i havent seen or heard much on your progress with your leg. I see in the video you are wearing your brace and getting along fairly well, as it appears. How is the brace working out? And hows your pain management?

    Thanks for this. What if your countertops have been done with a rustoleum counter top kit with flakes, do I need to sand the countertops and if so what sand paper should I get?

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  Před 4 lety

      I would definitely sand. I’m not familiar with the Rustoleum kit, so I’m not sure of the texture it has. I would say start with maybe a 100 grit to help level the texture, then go to a 220 to smooth it out. You won’t need to sand it all the way down just get it nice and smooth. Then I would prime and paint it and continue from there. 😊

    Great video! Im about to try the Stone Coat as soon as I finish watching all the videos I can. Question- What if I cant remove the kitchen sink? Can i treat it the same as a black splash Im keeping? Like taping it off then sealing with silicone caulk?

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  Před 4 lety +2

      Thanks. I’m glad you like it. Yes. You can pour in place and still keep your sink. Just make sure you pull your tape before it sets up too much and rips. That’s not fun 😂. Good luck 😊😊

      @@RK3Designs hello. At what point do you pour your clear coat and pull the tape?

  • @brendaducharme1395

    So what about the backsplash if you are doing a dirty pour, and you make a damn around the other edges. What do you do with the backsplash edge so to speak?

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  Před 2 lety +1

      If you are going to keep the backsplash in place then you’ll just let the epoxy run up next to the backsplash. If you’re going to be removing the backsplash, do it before you pour and then fill in any cracks between the countertop and the wall. Then just let the epoxy run up next to the wall. Then install your new backsplash on top.

    If you leave the sink area open to splash below, have you ever had issues with it getting on the walls or doors from splashing up?

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  Před 4 lety +1

      I usually tape plastic across the hole and normally don't let it just run over. If you do, I would tape or paper the wall and door. I should have been more specific in my explanation of that. Sorry about that, but thanks for your feedback. Really helps me out a lot!!! Thanks for watching!

    I've found that cardboard works best for me. I collect cardboard boxes from everywhere. I break them down flat and carry a bunch of them to each job. After my plastic I push the cardboard up to the counters, cut to size and tape down. Then I use the paper to cover the rest of the flooring. I literally leave no part of the floor uncovered. I've had to clean up too many messy floors. It's a lot easier to cover completely.

    • @RK3Designs

      Yes Kim, I'm going to be doing more of these types of videos. Most of the time you can router or sand your edges with low grit sandpaper.
