    I have been scouring the internet for epoxy countertop tutorials and this is so perfect! I am going to do a 60" double sink vanity using this style, but I am going to add metallic gold instead of turquoise (even though turquoise is my favorite color) just so I can make sense of all the brass in my 1999 home that I can't replace just yet. I can't wait to play around with this!

    Love your videos and creativity! I noticed you don't often tape off your projects. Is this because you flood coat afterwards or is there another reason?

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  Před rokem

      I normally don’t tape if I’m using 3 oz./sq ft of epoxy. Most of the techniques I do, I only use that amount. If I use more epoxy / sq ft, I will then tape my edges.

    • @RK3Designs

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  Před 3 lety

      I would tape the edges with Tyvek tape So the product won’t run over the edge. Once the epoxy is dry you can pull the tape and sand the edges smooth. You want to do the same thing with your clear flood coat as well.

    Rhonda, what did the customer think of this?
    Would she like to have had more turquoise in it?
    Can you come back later and add more turquoise before you install it? Or, even after you have installed it, if the customer wants more color?
    I am also asking for myself, for my future project(s). I'm going to do pearl white on white with diamond dust, and ... mica (?) for my master bath and guest bathroom. I am thinking of putting turquoise for my rental unit bathrooms vanity tops. I'm also doing the kitchen counter tops.

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  Před 3 lety +1

      She loved it. She just wanted a VERY tiny amount of accent color, so she was happy with the piece. Once the epoxy is set up you really can’t add more color unless you pour another layer. It would give it more of a 3D look.

  • @michellee8913
    @michellee8913 Před 4 lety +1

    Is it better to have the hole cut before the epoxy? Or it doesn't matter. And you can use tilt Gadget Stone coat countertop has.

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  Před 4 lety +1

      Depends on if your installing an above sink or an under mount. If an under mount, you have to cut prior to pour because you have to finish your inner edges. The customers often don’t have a new sink picked out when we pour. That’s why we cut after we pour.

  • @NoNonsenseNan
    @NoNonsenseNan Před 4 lety +1

    Is there a way to do this particular design if you have integrated sink? Thinking you can't but what if I did sinks separately (create a dam so that epoxy from counter doesn't drip) but then at what point do I remove the "dam" and do a pour inside the sinks with just white tinted opoxy? Is that possible to do?

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  Před 4 lety +1
