I'm an interaction designer using Affinity Suite instead of Adobe Creative Cloud. Also learning open-source tools such as GIMP, Inkscape, Krita, Blender etc through Udemy. I plan to stick with Windows and Linux.
Thanks for the tips (& inspiration!). Been wanting to start my freelance graphic design journey but have been OVERWHELMED by all the options and need to market myself... After watching your video I really feel like I can do it. Thanks for sharing 🥰
Thank you for sharing this information! I wish you all the best! Many people power hoard or gatekeep in this industry and it's refreshing to see someone be so helpful and transparent!
Subbed! Although i've been a freelance WFH, web and graphic designer for 22 yrs now, I still find your video helpful. We almost have the same setup except that I have a mac mini. i'm looking into getting a laptop as well just so I can work anywhere :) Great content! thank you!
The most valuable video in terms of suggestions that i’ve seen so far, regarden this topic. To the point that even advertisement was helpful, thank you a lot.
Superb video! As a graphoic designer and artist I still learned a lot of things; btw do you have a video where you talk about your education in graphic design? Could you make a video about websites like gumroad, etc?
concise and to the point! super helpful to hear your guidance. Could you also make a video on notion and how you keep everything organized? (I suck with organizing work)
I started a year ago on my self-taught graphic design journey And it's being kind of stressful Cause learning the Adobe pograms and because of time Cause have a job that doesn't have anything to do with graphic design and sometimes I find my self procrastinating but I'm not giving up yet
Idk why this gatekeeping culture even got started. You see it everywhere in the art or gaming community too. Like you were at one point a newbie too yknow.
Hello!! I'm pretty sure I have the lowest storage possible; I really don't store much on my iPad other than a few apps :) and about the pencil, nope! I'm super happy with what I have now.
Laptop :) Unless you are interested in illustrative/drawing work, then iPad would be suitable. But for graphic design, definitely the laptop (or any computer)
I have a bit of beef with Contra and their job board that you basically can't access unless you pay them almost $30/month. Chances of clients finding you are very slim, so you finding clients would be best.
@@aniadsgn I haven't found any yet :/ On Contra you can publish your profile and portfolio for free, but if you want to access the job board and apply to jobs, you need a Pro account. I applied with my free account and I've been 5814th in line for approval for 2 weeks now...
I haven't personally tried affinity, because I have been using adobe for years. I don't think I am looking to learn a new program at this stage. xTiles, love it! See my latest video :)
Affinity Designer is awesome. I swapped from Illustrator to designer and I don’t regret it. Currently Affinity is offering six months free for their entire suite. 😊
I'm not afraid :) AI will be slowly integrating into our workflows, if anything, making it more efficient for us as designers. I've actually embraced AI by helping me come up with ideas.
Can feel your soul leaving your body when talking about that Adobe subscription.
🤣 was it that obvious... clearly not having the monthly fee, but it's a must for me!
Thanks I am starting my Graphics Designer journey, wish to succeed before 2024 ends.
cool. i also started it this month
Thank you for de-influencing graphic design ❤ and de-gatekeeping!!
your room looks surreal

figma is not entirely free, it's freenium
Yes :) I did mention there are paid plans so there are limitations, but still a great place to start!
Right figma is not free!
I prefer Sketch, one time payment.
Superb video! As a graphoic designer and artist I still learned a lot of things; btw do you have a video where you talk about your education in graphic design? Could you make a video about websites like gumroad, etc?
This piece is engaging. I particularly love the part where you talked about design books.

Hi ania do you need a thumbnail designer or editor at cheap rates?
Hii :) What storage for the iPad do you recommend? And are you planning to upgrade for the Apple pencil pro?
Hello!! I'm pretty sure I have the lowest storage possible; I really don't store much on my iPad other than a few apps :) and about the pencil, nope! I'm super happy with what I have now.
Thanks for this video
Where can I learn how to upgrade my design skills though?
What are good sources of education?
And i also have a mackbook air but i don't know which app i can use for designing
I pirate adobe, therefore i am.
Spill the tea pretty please
What do you recommend first, laptop or iPad? I can only afford one right now
Laptop :) Unless you are interested in illustrative/drawing work, then iPad would be suitable. But for graphic design, definitely the laptop (or any computer)
@@aniadsgn laptop it is, thanks 🙏🏽
So MacBook Air is powerful enough to support multiple Adobe apps at once?
Yes, but I recommend the M1 chip or above (model 2021 earliest).
@@aniadsgn would a MacBook Air 15' inch with M3 chip work?
@@gh0stamv absolutely!
hi ania need youtube thumbnails designer at cheap rates?
Where are you bought them with this price? I search some places and webs, but price X2😢
Do you live by yourself (where?) and are you able to pay all your bills with graphic design?
Not anymore lol, hint at next video 🥹 [also I had a part-time job while being a student that paid decent for a student]
I have a bit of beef with Contra and their job board that you basically can't access unless you pay them almost $30/month. Chances of clients finding you are very slim, so you finding clients would be best.
Oh no! I only made an account with them and didn't go live just yet... do you have any other websites you recommend?

Do u guys know how to make a website like a website that you have your own domain
what are your thoughts on affinity apps and Xtiles?
I haven't personally tried affinity, because I have been using adobe for years. I don't think I am looking to learn a new program at this stage. xTiles, love it! See my latest video :)

That's a good one too!
Is the iPad Pro 11 inch big enough for design?
Yep!
I hope you can help plzzzz its my dream to be graphic design er
My best designs were executed on a broke laptop
You have just proven my point 🤣
Hi, i use affinity designer so is good option for it?
I never personally tried it, but I dont see why it can't be good!!
Affinity Designer is awesome. I swapped from Illustrator to designer and I don’t regret it. Currently Affinity is offering six months free for their entire suite. 😊
How about AI i'm learning but i'm afraid that i will have no chance to have a job
I'm not afraid :) AI will be slowly integrating into our workflows, if anything, making it more efficient for us as designers. I've actually embraced AI by helping me come up with ideas.
You forget "talent"
Oh really?
