Hi! I'm a Multimedia Arts student and I find my interest lies more on graphic design, your videos and many others here on CZcams has helped me so much on my learning journey. I've been enjoying it so far! My plan is to build my portfolio through project works so I can earn whilst building my portfolio. Though the question that has been bothering me is that, how will I know if I'm ready for a Graphic Design Job? I've made a few mock works here and there but nothing of actual projects yet. Is it too late? Knowing that there are a lot of ppl wanting to be graphic designers? The saturated market + the rise of ai tools that can instantly create a conceptualized art?
Correct me if im wrong but the pay for designers might be lowered a little bit since non-designers can now create their own?
Also, for big companies and sme that will not happen since they care anout their reputation and brand. They wont do it alone by using ai tools but will still rely on designers to make it unique.
As a filipino and on behalf of asian ppl benefiting to the offshore opportunities and freelancing, are we affected big time??
So in the current pace of developments, AI will definitely replace some tasks done by designers. I think even before the rise of AI, the graphic designers who excel in the field are those who are not just masters of the tool, but those who has a lot of high-value critical and creative thinking. So our goal is to be a graphic designer of that level.

I first started learning graphic design course in linkedin, and now I'm trying to get used in illustrator and photoshop. But still confused of what type of work should I practice that I can put in my future portfolio. I'm tryna do vector illustration and I wonder if its necessary.
try other fields first then focus on what you enjoy doing the most. Keep grinding!

As beginners, it is very difficult to afford tools like adobe illustrator or Photoshop
and downloading cracked versions is so so risky too!
What would you suggest as an alternative or solution to this problem?
affinity softwares have one time fee. the tools are similar to adobe counterparts so when you already have the capacity to afford adobe, the switch wouldnt be too hard

Do I have to pick a niche? I am good at making posters and layouting but I can't make a logo or illustration. So, I just good at specific type of graphic design niche
