I gave you a like for the video. It was a great way to explain the process. Props to you for helping us out. Most people will not realize how many variables there are to getting this installation because of the many different hardware configurations. Typical linux tutorial :D everything explained in complete detail, except for that one weird terminal line that you are supposed to copy paste and that is just explained with "do this if it doesnt work"

Open to any criticism.
Another issue to keep in mind. After installing Lutris (and steam if you prefer) and correct WINE configurations without fsync, the riot client will install. Then the client will update. Then the League of legends logo will show on the screen and install server side client updates. For me, it didn't bring up the gui while doing this last install of the server side client. So you have to be very patient with LOL server side installations. It's 16 GBs of installation on top of WINE and Lutris and STEAM.

For anyone having fsync errors with WINE saying you don't have the correct version with FSYNC and to use a NON FSYNC version. When trying to play the game AFTER successful installation, you have to go into Lutris, select the League of legends game, select the arrow by the Play button and select CONFIGURE. In the runner options menu, you have to press the FSYNC button to OFF. EDIT: i also had to turn off esync and VDVK for my hardware setup with Intel CPU/GPU to get the client GUI to show up to queue.
The other alternative is to install EGGROLLs. I got the game to play with fstab version of WINE.
Installed, everything works, thanks!

For each person this is going to be different. It's a difficult installation. Some people have AMD CPUs/GPUs, Intel CPU/NVidia GPU, and some Intel CPU/GPU. I had to disable Esync and DXVK in runner options in Lutris to get the client to show. Once the client showed up, I was able to queue for a game. My laptop is 7 years old, so the performance was not very good. Getting a new laptop 13 gen intel tomorrow to try Manjaro out.
EDIT: To add to the complexity, the anti-cheat controls by companies like Riot make it difficult for consumers like us to install these games on Linux distros most likely to limited Linux software support from Riot. This means anti cheat false positives for some people trying to play.
yep anti-cheat most common culprit of problems with online multiplayer games on linux sadly. If most of them dewvs took a bit of time more games could have worked. For example Crytek with Hunt Showdown took their time recently and now it works fine.

When I click on find game nothing happens. My client feels extremely buggy on top of that. I tried queuing with friends, I never got the match found notification.
I am able to login with riot client, but after clicking "Play", league client doesn't appear. LeagueClient process is visible in system monitor, but quiting after ~5minutes. :/

Game works just like it works on Windows which is great but is there any way to change your mouse sensitivity? Lutris or league just ignores mouse sens, and it does not happen when doing stuff on desktop or playing steam games like cs:go.
Great point, I installed my logitech app for my mouse and set a button for dpi sensitivity and it worked for me... Not sure in game options will work...

you probably have screen tearing. Are you using a window manager or a desktop environment? I am using a twm and once i setup a compoistor my screen tearing went away.

And as I said. Disabled the compositor on KDE, got the recent update and it runs buttery smooth.

I had this same problem when trying to install it on Manjaro (arch linux). I ended up adding the dependency wine-staging from pacman, I installed steam and linked it to lutris. Created a lutris account. Not sure which fixed it, but then installed the standard version and it worked.
I also had to turn off fsync, esync, and all options for VDVK(sp) in runner options
of ti...cheers!

after verifying the logs apparently it just return:

Hey, I'm on Ubuntu 22.04 and I downloaded the zip file from GitHub, but the setup is .py file, how do I install it?
It's been years since I tried getting League working on Linux and I eventually gave up.
I did get it working back in the day, but the Lutris settings back then had a 15 minute login timer to circumvent the anti-cheat.
Is that still the case?
I never liked the idea of waiting 15 minutes to play a 20 minute ARAM.

Writing from my alt account cause I'm from phone. You need siglevel to be uncommented, but in case it doesn't work try both variants. Dont forget to run
sudo pacman -Syu
to update the system

maybe an incompatibility issue with your version of linux? You should state which version and distro of linux you are using. (i.e. arch linux, debian, ubuntu and version X.XX)

This doesn't work anywhere anymore. Riots invasive anticheat put an end to League anywhere other than windows and macos.

Most likely a wine depedency issue. I am using Manjaro, I installed wine, winetricks, and wine-staging to get it working on Manjaro (arch linux).... What version of linux are you running? Each will be different.

You guys should consider getting Caustic 3, it helped understand the basics I tNice tutorialnk it´s even free for PC, on the phone it costs a little.
