Allen Iverson actually led the league in Steals 3x
I misspoke saying he never led the league
    Steph led the league 1x

I love watching you and your buddies have these discussions. Y’all need to put on suits and make it official.

I am old enough to have seen NBA since the 70's. Steph vs AI is not a discussion -- Steph is many times greater. To say scoring is ability is equal totally ignores their efficiency. Steph is one of the most efficient scores in history even if you adjust for era -- Iverson is one of the least efficient scorers in history for a guy who took so many shots. This is why the only successful teams AI played on had to hang their hats on defense not offense. To say AI singlehandedly led Philly to the finals ignores the fact that it the defense (Mutumbo & others surrounded by guys covering for AI's gambling for steals. AI's also played on many really bad teams, and when he went to Denver they got worse -- when Billups went to Denver that the only time they were a real threat. Meanwhile Steph always won when healthy. This should not be a discussion at all.
Now Hakeem vs Shaq -- yes that's much tougher. Shaq's peak might be better, but give me Hakeem. Hakeem was easily a superior defender, and he didn't the end of game FT issue like Shaq. It is also hard to ignore what happened when they met in the finals and Shaq in my opinion had better surrounding talent (4-0 sweep to Hakeem). Shaq never had to go through a player like MJ -- an older MJ dominated him in 95-96. Peak Shaq was a monster, but I like the all around game of Hakeem.

O’Neill lays out a perfect explanation on why Hakeem is better. It’s on You Tube with a quick search.
Hakeem met with Kobe and other high performance players to teach them foot work. Hakeem’s footwork could not be matched by another center.
Hakeem did not have a Kobe but he had a Scotty Brooks, a Sam Cassell, a Kenny Johnson, a Clyde Drexlee (Phi Slama Jama!!) a Matt Bullard, a Robert Horry, a Vernon Maxwell, etc… I don’t think a Kobe would have worked for that team. The 94-95 Rockets are a team where no one needed to be a superstar. The starting lineup performed. The bench had strength and performed. Had Kobe been inserted it would have been about him and ruin the synergy that allowed them to win. That’s not the way the team was built.

Great points!! Appreciate the feedback, SHaQ was a different animal, I have to be on the side of dynasty and championships when history is brought up, it’s close but Shaq’s scoring gets overlooked, he was scoring so often, and peaked defensively around the 3 peat era. With all that footwork Hakeem had Shaq still scored way more and wasn’t too shabby defensively

@@teezmcgeereactsIt’s definitely close. It might come down to personal preference and there was nothing better than Hakeem making David Robinson his bitch.

I’ll take Olajuwon and Steph because 3 is more than 2 and just go watch the Rockets vs Magic finals. In 1995 ?? I believe
