  • Join Ryan for a tour of Pflipsen Racing's sweet snocross hauler and race shop in Melrose, Minnesota.
Pflipsen Racing is one of the newest snocross teams we sponsor in the Amsoil Championship Snocross Series.
Pflipsen Racing team owner Bill Pflipsen used to race snocross in the early 2000s. He got back into the sport in 2018 racing grassroots and regional races in the 30+ class while his young son Caiden Pflipsen got his start in the sport racing 200 cc sleds. Fast forward to the 2022-23 season when the team joined the national tour. Caiden had an amazing season, finishing the year 3rd overall in season points in JR 14/15 and 8th overall in season points in the Sport Class. Does this mean he avoided a buzz cut?
We catch up with Snocross Pro Lite racer Kenny Mandryk who is still smiling and ready to start next season healthy after some tough luck this year. Kenny started this season in Fargo, N.D., filling in for One Three Motorsports team injured Pro Lite rider Jeremy Beaulieu with less than 24 hours notice. He took two top 10 finishes despite it being the first time he had ridden a newer Ski-Doo race sled.
It was a great start for Mandryk who was job hunting for a new ride after two injury plagued seasons. His impressive handling of the Ski-Doo with zero experience on the machine caught Bill's attention. He was looking for a rider to fill a spot left open by Kellen Chapuran, who was sidelined by a torn ACL. Kenny raced three solid weekends for Pflipsen before a sled landed on top of him at Deadwood and ended his season. He and Chapuran should be healed up and ready to race next season.
Team Mechanic Jared Kiess gave us a quick tour of his race shop. He brings to the team several years of riding and wrenching experience. The Pflipsen Team is starting small, but we expect great things of them in the future.
Bill gives us a tour of the team's hauler which was designed specifically for snocross racing. The trailer features a hydraulic tailgate, plenty of workspaces, and an impressive lounge area with a full kitchen, where his wife cooks up some great meals for the team. They keep the hauler nicely heated with five efficient diesel heaters.
Outside of snocross racing. the Pflipsens also farm and run a trucking company with 25 trucks. They are very familiar with our sister company May Wes Manufacturing and use a number of May Wes aftermarket agricultural products including G4 Stalk Stompers on their corn head, Minimizer Slickplates on their truck fifth wheels, and poly skid shoes on their grain heads. All of these products are manufactured from the same UHMW poly we use to make C&A Pro snowmobile skis in our Hutchinson, Minnesota plastic compression molding and plastic fabrication shop.
