- The heartbreaking events in Gaza have exploded into a tsunami of waves across the world prompting an unprecedented awareness and shift in the way the world now perceives the Palestinian people, Palestine, and Israel.
A mix of hundreds of millions of all ethnicities, religions and age-groups have voiced their objection to the onslaught of oppression and killings of Palestinian children and adults, protests, boycotts, media campaigns, prayers, tears, unity and objection.
These angelic Palestinians have unconsciously given rise to large numbers of non-Muslims globally to look favorably at Islam and even converting/reverting to Islam, after they witnessed the unmatched spirituality, strength and faith of the Palestinians, men, women and children alike.
At the same time, many have developed an interest in knowing the facts about Islam’s view of those it terms ‘People of the Book’, why Muslims call them that, how Islam stands out compared to them, the position of the Quran to the Bible of the Jews and Christians, what Islam actually stands for, the Quran’s position to the Old and New Testaments and its adherents among the Christians and Jews.

Salam, if I may recommend listening to a political analyst Sami Hamdi. He provides a good perspective on the importance of the voice of people I.e. protests and such. I believe this is still relevant if not more relevant for us muslims in our Muslim countries.

This verse is quoted to make the argument that since Christians eat everything, that makes it lawful for Muslims to eat everything too. But most Christians today do not follow these laws. I believe that for us to eat what has been made lawful to Christians, Christians first have to follow the dietary laws that God laid down.
But since Muslims can see that they are not following them in this day and age, they don't need to go after them. Muslims have been clearly instructed in this regard and do not need to go after one or the other in what to eat. Allah also says,
Surah Hajj (22:34)
"To every people did We appoint rites (of sacrifice), that they might celebrate the name of Allah over the sustenance He gave them from animals (fit for food)."
4. The USDA drains the blood from the slaughtered animals, fulfilling the sunnah.
It is also argued that because the USDA does not pronounce any god's name during the slaughter and all the blood is drained from the animals, a crucial requirement for zabiha, therefore USDA slaughtered meat is permissible for Muslim consumption. But I believe that as stated in the verses quoted above, Allah's name must be pronounced during the slaughter.
In addition, any method that renders the animal unconscious, like stunning, captive bolt, gas etc (all USDA approved and used) before the slaughter is out rightly rejected by the Jews. These methods may cause injury or death to the animal making it unfit

Assalaam alaykum I have heard this several times. In the Qur'an Allah swt allows us to eat from the Ahlil kitaab because they also believed in one God.
But today there isn't any real Ahlil kitaab around at least not in the food processing plants and abattoirs. Furthermore saying Bismillahir rahmanir rahim is just saying In the name of Allah the most merciful the beneficent. It doesn't change haraam to halaal. In fact its an irony because we say this phrase before we do anything to indicate that we are doing it for the sake of Allah and to please Him. So its like saying it before you rob an old woman or steal a car. It doesn't make your sin any less. Eating halaal is extremely important because no ounce of body will enter jannah without being purified by hell fire.
So the more you eat haraam the more you'll burn. It's really a sensitive issue.

Instead of boycott, I believe give charity to Palestinian is more important right know.

I have a question- if the Jews of today follow Talmud instead of the original Torah and the Christians follow the New Testament instead of the original Gospel, can they be taken as the people of the Book when a lot of them are atheists too?

I personally think the polar bears if caught is okay to eat since it was hunted and ofc it’s what’s available, but allahualam, best to check with your Sheik.
