Mark explains his nearly inexplicable hatred toward a redditor who posts high resolution pictures of the moon and wonders if Bob and Wade have any similar situation.
I think the reasoning behind Mark and Bob's irrational anger towards the moon and coffee thing is the amount of detail put into a simple thing. They are creators. Efficiency is their forte. Also they have ADHD. Therfore watching something that should be something as simple as coffee or taking a picture of the moon become so unnecessary complicated is very hard to comprehend to their brain. Its not that they hate the subject or the person, but the fact that a simple 3 step process has turned into a 100 step over convoluted process that irks them.
Thank you, as someone with ADHD this explains the thought process so perfectly. ADHD naturally makes us a little impatient and seeing such large lengths to be taken for something so simple is very irking, its not the person or necessarily the thing they're doing or are passionate about it's that they take so much time and effort to do something so simplistic that we feel it's a waste of time from how FAST our brain moves. It's kinda like someone continuously cutting a pizza. They're not hurting anyone but it makes people with OCD and similar mental obstacles obscenely angry because there are typically 12 to 14 slices when it comes to pizza. It's wasteful and highly unnecessary to cut into one more than that and have a bunch of tiny pieces because you'd get a couple rather than just grabbing ONE. They took the time to do that when it didn't actually BENEFIT anyone and kept hungry people from enjoying their pizza for longer than just cutting it the generally known way. We struggle to get from point A to B on our own and to have unnecessary obstacles and hoops to jump through makes us very irritated. Especially if we're in a hurry to complete a task or get tired of a certain subject. 😅

I'll be watching a show/anime, and it'll get ruined for me because of things that don't need to be there. Like forced humor. I'll be watching something, and it'll have completely random strange/odd moments just to make it seem 'interesting', but they aren't explained in the story at all, so they make no sense._ _3) Forced stupidity. Having a character forced to be stupid or act in a stupid way, just to further the plot/move the story forward. Normally they'll be shown as a smart/intelligent character, even going so far as to purposefully show them doing something smart/intelligent, just to completely negate that when the plot requires them to be stupid, just because the writer wrote themselves into a corner and can't figure a way out other than to make them stupid. It's even worse when it's the main character._ _4) Overcomplication. I hate seeing people needlessly overcomplicate things, taking a couple of hours to do something that should only take a few minutes. Or adding a bunch of needless steps to something, just to seem fancier/above you. Like they're sooo awesome and 'upper crust', and how dare you even compare yourself to them, you worthless peasant!_ I think that last part is what triggered Mark and Bob's irrational anger. Coffee is supposed to be simple. Either use already-made grounds to make the coffee, or go one extra step and grind the beans yourself. Done. There's no need to turn it into a "the cure for cancer" level scientific experiment or something out of a mad scientist novel, just to make a damn cup of coffee. There is literally no difference. None. People's brains just make them _think_ there's a difference because of how fancy it is and because of peer pressure. People they look up to say there's a difference and that it's sooo much better than regular coffee, and they don't want to disappoint them/be embarrassed, so they also say there's a difference. Until suddenly they actually start to _believe_ it, and you can't convince them otherwise. Even if you showed them chemical proof.
I have ADHD with a different explanation. It's the overload of information intake. Because of the executive dysfunction and the way dopamine goes to the brain, repetitive tasks or things can get very irritating for people with ADHD. If you look at somebody with ADHD and somebody with autism, the person with ADHD will work better with no routine, but the person with Autism will need a routine to survive. (If you don't fit into this and have one of these, I do recommend getting tested for the other because many people have both)
Familiarity breeds contempt- or repetition spoils something. For example. I have never seen Homestuck a single day in my life, but hearing people yak on about it, and seeing it on the Internet everywhere I went- I began to despise it for frankly no reason than that I could simply perceive it. Still won’t read it today.
The slight satisfaction you feel comes from a sense that your getting information about something you didn’t really care about and saving time/energy because you feel like your not putting time in to something others waist time in (even though your definitely waisting it in other ways) it’s kind of like the reason people get angry at spoilers because they now know what the thing is even though they didn’t see or hear it for them self, that’s why it feel kind of plain or bland when people spoil or explain things you didn’t learn before and gets even worst when they keep doing it so that’s how the raging anger that mark feels starts
