If I am honest, the numbers 14 and 22 are eclipsed by the victory over Novak Djokovic. Pure satisfaction to me. After that win, the rest was just gravy. Novak fans have been so silent since then. This championship just feels so good to me. THE RETURN OF THE KING!

What an amazing recap of the incredible past 2 weeks. The betting odds were against him, and both Alcaraz & Nole were tipped ahead of him as this year's favourites to win even before RG began. But this man's belief in himself & his abilities is unwavering!

So many clutch moments here. Playing such an incredible 5th set to close out Felix, including that 4-3 game where he broke despite Felix doing nothing wrong. Then saving 3 set points and coming back from 5-2 down in the 4th against Djokovic to win the match, outmatching Djokovic in the tiebreak. Then saving 4 set points against Zverev, one where he hit the best passing shot of the tournament, and closing it out with some big forehands, and then stomping Ruud (a top 5 player) in the final. Incredible.
People dont understand how hard this RG was because of the finals. It was arguably his toughest French yet.
The thing is he would not have been able to win the final so easily if Zverev didn't get hurt. If he had to play a 4 or 5 setter against that high-level Zverev for 5-6 hours he probably would have lost to Ruud or be taken to a long, exhausting 4 to 5 set victory for Nadal. Why do people disrespect Nadal's French Open finals victories and perfect 14-0 record? They always talk about the other 3 Grand Slam matches when they discuss greatest Grand Slam finals but they just ignore 14-0 because zero five setters but that is because Nadal is so good.

I'm a huge Rafa fan, but if he does achieve the calendar Grand Slam this year, please don't forget the great Rod Laver, who did it TWICE, once in 1962 and again in 1969. That is the greatest achievement in tennis, imo.

The tennis court will look so empty without him, when he does retire. I hope for nothing but the best. I am resolved to just enjoying what we have now. Lastly, the match against Novak was soooo very satisfying. I have been saying this for the past 12 months, "There will be a reckoning." Nadal did not disappoint. Nadal Is The KING!
I think that is why Nadal is looking like he is trying his best to get ready for the US Open in 6 weeks despite the abdominal injury at Wimbledon. He will try his hardest to win USO #5.

All 14 French Opens are great achievements. It is sad how none of his finals victories are included in greatest Grand Slam matches of all time because he never loses and always wins in 3 or 4 sets. So much disrespect for his French Open finals victories. Everyone acts like it is "automatic" and "easy" when every single one of them were hard to win for him. If he had gone 13-1 or 12-2 in these finals I bet so many of the Nadal haters would give him more respect unlike how they ignore his 14-0 perfect FO finals record.

@@s.a4254 i remember many years ago after winning a number of tournaments on clay prior to RG, when asked about his chances to win RG that year - I could smell it he arrogance in his breath - when he emphatically said he would win RG that year. Thank God, he lost to the humble Nadal again.
Nadal had never said , would never have said , he would win. His answer had always been respectful. He always said that he will try his level best to give him a chance to compete at his best. People love Nadal for his humility and tenacity.
What is written around Philipe Chatrier “ VICTORY BELONGS TO THE MOST TENACIOUS” , I guess, is an embodiment of what Nadal is all about.

Nadal have strong Top Spin and that saves him on the clay and balls are bounce very high...but he don't like fast game and have problem on Wimbledon because the game is much faster...Only on the clay come his power to expression.

Rafa totally robbed Novak, the heavy favorite in this match, of any self-belief he might've had. You could almost see the Serbian's confidence draining away. This match may end up being a momentum-changer in their rivalry as Rafa is now a mere match away from tying their head2head.

Injections with magic cocktail..what else was in this substance of realising pain. I dont buy this. Its not posible to play 100% fizikly , no matter how many injections you get. This guy is a joke with asterix on a resime. 21*. The tougest slam, it didnt affect his game, you play with pain and have no mental down. You run like hell and dont look damaged at all, no real logic can buy this scam. Only case in history of sport. Rafa is unique with 20 years of injuries, that had no effect on his game and results.
