Exactly, the first time I knew about Jaon Voorhees was from this film. I like it even though I realized how much different it feels to the crystal lake camp environment. I'm totally like this version of Jason (before he goes Uber).

I met Kane Hodder aka Jason at monsterpalooza and he is seriously the sweetest man ever and this is one of those movies that’s just a chill good time slasher.
I’ve met Kane a few times myself. He’s always a pleasure to talk to and hang out with. Hope to meet him again one day before he kicks the bucket!

Kane Hodder was in top form for this one. One of his "tricks" is that Jason always turns his head in the direction he wants to go, then starts moving. When the script called for Jason to snap Sven's neck, Hodder protested. Said it wasn't brutal enough for Jason. So it was changed so that he SLOWLY broke his neck.

Legendary Cameo Fact: David Cronenberg's cameo was done as a favor to his former protege Director Jim Isaac for loaning his Canadian-based production crew to him. In exchange, he wanted to get killed on screen.
Financial Success Fact: While this film was a critical and financial failure in its initial release in theaters, it made more than triple the cost of production in DVD and post-theater sales. Statistically, It is one of the most successful 'Friday The 13th' films. Personally, I actually love this movie despite its many flaws!
Feminism Marches On Fact: Neither casting director Robin Cook nor director James Isaac initially wanted to do the virtual reality scene with the naked campers. Cook was so adamant the scene was nothing but gratuitous nudity that she refused to cast the roles of the two topless girls, relegating those duties to her casting assistant Andrea Kool. Isaac agreed that it was clearly just nudity for nudity's sake, and the only way he could personally justify it is if they had fun with it and poked fun at the franchise including naked teens in its films. The two actresses Kool ended up casting, Kaye Penaflor and Tania Maro, were very excited about doing the scene because this was the biggest film either of them ever appeared in. Kaye Penaflor and Tania Maro are my heroes.

Yes this is the "silliest" stand-alone jason movie, but i think it has the coolest kills of all!
Been waiting on this one, If I remember correctly it was bashed by the critics when it came out but I really enjoyed it and it is very high on my own personal Friday list.

I'm not the biggest fan of this entry, but I'm going to predict he'll like it. Jason is a badass in this one.
Many people think only Jason’s mask landed in the lake because that’s all we see, but that’s stupid. During the shot where Jason is falling to Earth 2, you see Brodsky’s body burn up, but Jason keeps falling. His body is thicker than the mask, yet the mask survived. What happened was, metal straps that held the mask attached to his head got burned off, and so when he landed in the lake, the mask broke away from his body. Jason is now on Earth 2, in that lake, ready to pick up where he left off. Unlike Freddy and Michael, who had more or less definitive ends to their continuities, Jason survives in his.
Errr, no. Zero chance that Jason wouldn't be burned up entering the atmosphere. The metal parts (presumably made out of futuristic alloys) of Uber-Jason may have survived, but certainly none of his fleshy bits.
@@The-Underbakerwell depends on if you count Comics is canon. Because there are Friday the 13th comics that have Uber Jason surviving. In fact in one of those they had him fight his past zombified self (can't remember if it was like a hologram or not) and he was barely even slowed down by it

@The-Underbaker, err, no yourself. Absolute chance that Jason survived reentry, because the flesh of his new body was protected by the armor he had. All he needed were some pieces and he’d regenerate, not to mention that his fleshy parts aren’t like normal flesh anymore, and that’s before the ants got to him, so yes, he definitely survived greenery, that’s what that entire ending scene was about with the two teenagers; to show that here goes the whole thing all over again.
@@TeenTyrant That is dumb as shit and I'm glad this timeline of Jason ended with this film if we're really talking about the fact he can fall from a spaceship all the way to the planet and then regenerate from a few particles of flesh into a fully formed new Jason like nothing happened.

This is the best type of horror movie: pure cheese! It's why fans of the 80's Friday the 13th movies love this one so much.

Just a for an info type of thing. David Cronenberg was the weirdo in the beginning hovering over Jason. The director that's that's made body horror his thing since Rabid, Videodrome, and The Fly (remake) to name many.

I've never been a big Jason movie fan, but this is my favorite of his. It's just ridiculous, and I love it for it.

Fun fact Lisa Ryder and Lexa Doig who play Kay-Em 14 and Rowan were costars on the sci-fi tv show Andromeda during the filming of this movie.
On Andromeda Lexa played an android and Lisa played a human character. But here on Jason X their characters are opposites.

Jason is the GOAT slasher. Always been when i watched these as a kid. I was born 1987, i watched tons of slashers (prob every english spoken) and nobody havent taken GOAT status from Jason yet.....
This was a fun movie to watch and this is my favorite Jason look (pre-uber) Jason. He had the gray hair and we finally got to see his skin.

I've always loved this Friday the 13th, part 6 is always my fav but this was the first one I was old enough to see in theatre's and I enjoyed it!

I like this movie too. It has a lot of silly scenes here and there but it mostly has more serious plot pushing scenes that keep the story flowing and entertaining.

Space Jason deserves another film. And Blank I believe we as a community, you included, have done a good job of making J a horror film fan. I'm sure he would have never considered being a fan until this channel. I love to see it. Another classic horror franchise to react to would be the PHANTASM films. At least the first 4. Or the first two CRITTERS films. BUBBA HOTEP would be another great Bruce Campbell film. Another honorable mention Sam Raimi's DARK MAN. Any of or all these films would be great to see with J. I recommend the "Never Hike Alone" series. It's three Friday the 13th fan films. They're pretty damn good. In the first one, there are little sticks with flags attached in certain areas. Try and guess what they mean.

Jason X and Freddy vs Jason are the only movies associated with the Friday the 13th franchise I'd ever watched all the way through for a very long time and they both still my favorites. Both are ridiculous, full of goofy one liners and saturated in over the top violence.
Jason X is dumb as a box of rocks, but it's absolutely a fun watch.
Always enjoy watching J watching a slasher! Even if he's not jumping, he's getting a good laugh out of it!

And btw to EVERYONE hatin on Michael Myers ...... you'll never see Michael Myers in space because the Halloween movies make way too much money . Friday 13th got desperate because they couldn't sell tickets
These movies made way more money than most of the Halloween sequels, at least until H20, which was a desperate attempt to sell tickets to a failing franchise.
