Tip I've seen for not getting your brows too dark, leading to angry-looking eyes, is to use a lighter color (and lighter application) from the inside edge of the brow to the arch and then use a slightly darker color (or add more product/heavier application for a darker appearance) from the arch to the outside edge. It really works great for me. Another great video, Laura and congrats on your retirement!

I love and share your view on beauty and how we value ourselves as we get older. At 72 I also enjoy looking my best and using make up to enhance my features, but I accept my unique features and just want to be the best me. Fun video and great message at the end. I love the Sky High mascara too. I have very short and sparse lashes and using this mascara gives me some volume and it doesn’t flake. I’m still trying to find the perfect make up for summer so this is helpful.

Just wanted to offer a alternative for the Charlotte Tilbury hydrating spray, Clinique make one that it’s about $28 as opposed to 47 for the Charlotte Tilberry, works in much the same way. It’s moisture spray.

Hi Laura Rae. Oh my gosh I loved my Victoria Jackson makeup case!! You brought back great memories for me. Do either of your girls have a cleft i their chin? Not that 60 is old, because it isn't, but I don't think anyone would believe you are a day over 40. I watched your whole video on my laptop. I'm not sure how you did it, but I love when you inserted the "old" way you did makeup, then showed the more blended look!!! Love you, my beautiful friend...MaryEllen

Thank you so much MaryEllen for your encouraging words! Neither one of my daughters got the cleft in their chin. I'm not quite sure where mine came from. This video was so challenging, but it is one I have wanted to do for so long. I remember being so excited when I first saw the Victoria Jackson makeup. I bought one of the kits right before I gave birth. I was so excited to wear the makeup to the hospital! lol Love you!

@@LizzyHuntDsm You have to be careful as some formulas might travel into your eye and cause irritation. It can also cause creasing during the day. But I use eye cream on my lids all the time. I just make sure I let it sink into my skin before applying concealer or eye primer.

I’m super dry and have to use eye cream on my lids. I also use spf on my lids. I let all that sink in for twenty minutes before starting my makeup to avoid it messing with the eyeshadow etc and I do use primer btw. I can’t not moisturise my whole eye area if I want anything to look half decent 😂.

Oh Really you needed to post a rude negative comment just because this particular video was not to your personal preference??
So many more of us LOVED this longer detailed Tutorial video!!
Happy for you if your makeup application is perfect and on point that you don’t need a longer more detailed video but some of us are not so accomplished.
Instead of being so rude just because you are not happy how about you just make the decent and grown up decision to skip this particular video and find one that does work for you?

    • @nataliemarshall7158
      @nataliemarshall7158 Před měsícem +1

@@LauraRaeBeautythis video was absolutely brilliant! I cannot think of any other Beauty CZcamsr that is so open and honest about “mistakes”. I think learning curves is a better way to put it.
The fact that you pointed out what you used to do and why you no longer do it that way and what you are doing differently is so refreshing for us and very brave and vulnerable of you.
I honestly believe that as we age and change our makeup and the application of needs to change too.
As someone who is getting back into wearing makeup in my 50’s I not only appreciate all of your videos but especially this video with more info on the different brush sizes, how to use them and why they are necessary in more detail than is possible to give in a shorter video.
If in returning to using makeup I just started applying still using all of the techniques and tools that I did in my 20’s I am quite certain I would look like a clown 🤡 😂
I also appreciate you saying how many hours went into preparing this video. So many people have absolutely no clue just how much work goes into making CZcams videos, even the 10 min videos.
I would also be clueless if my daughter had not studied media production at University where part of the course required them all to setup and run a CZcams channel for the duration of the course. Holy cow so much work behind the scenes, so many rules from CZcams not to mention the mental work and drain from having to constantly be creative, thinking up new ideas, doing the research and being several weeks in advance of what you’re actually putting out! EXHAUSTING and Hard Work.
And then on top of that you need to have a hide as thick as a Rhino 🦏 so that your soul doesn’t get sucked dry by all of the “armchair experts” and “negative Nancy’s” being a successful CZcamsr is not the easy cash grabbing endeavour that most people think it is. My soul is way too sensitive and my creativity is yet to be born 😂😂
I wonder if occasionally talking about how much work went into your videos from time to time may not only be illuminating and interesting to some people but it might just make all of the “negative Nancy’s” think twice about being keyboard warriors?
I appreciate everything you have done for us especially waking up So early to be able to film for us and also get to work!! I hope you body clock adapts to retirement time quickly for you!! ❤❤❤
