I saw this coming. Its not as much as azzpull as afo using eri's quirk or shiggy comeback to life with will power. Both the heroes and villains have plot armor. 3 heroes are dying to save a kid. And they might have an explanation next chapter. So its not as much of an azzpull as people think.
I told you he wasn't dead lol. He too popular to die so quick. The fight would've been drawn out for weeks and this was a huge ass pull. Bro has been absent the entire fight and he just pops up and makes a sacrifice with the smallest bit of backstory provided lol
I think Eri's quirk "proves the Quirk Doomsday theory" because it's so absurdly powerful. The fact that the Quirk exists in the first place proves that humanity has already reached a point where quirks exist that are too dangerous to exist, you know? Thank goodness Eri has a kind heart and has Aizawa/Mirio to look after her, because if she turned evil as she grew up... That would spell the end of society. Just like how Shigaraki has become so powerful it's almost hard to comprehend
honestly Eri is the first example of Quirk Doomsday, and she has good mentors to train her from right and wrong, with more and more quirks user cannot control coming into light, I dread what happens when one of those kids is raised by villains

To be real, if they had a build up chapter to edgeshot doing this i’d of been cool with it. Feels like they pulled it out of the blue just to save bakugo asap, kinda cheap
I personally was shocked at the edgeshot thing . I felt like he was underused for the most part and the only time he’s actually being used , it’s as a sacrifice 🤦🏽♂️
If Bakugo was upset about his supposed role of “Ending” the symbol of Peace, there’s no way he’ll be okay with yet another top hero that seems to have sacrificed his life for him…it’s possible that this act will have the opposite effect and turn Bakugo from hero society for good
To quote Quicksilver, "You didn't see that coming?" Hori took a big risk by killing Bakugo, only to bring him back a few chapters later. So why did he do it the first place? I don't care if it was Bakugo or literally any other character; I just want some stakes in this final arc.

Edgeshot and Best Jeanist have a deeper relationship back from their hero course days or maybe even before that. They could be childhood friends and have had long conversations on Jeanist taking Bakugo under his wing. Maybe Edgeshot seeing that Jeanist has high hopes in the explosive teen. There could be many reasons and the flashback shows Best Jeanist and Edgeshot have a close friendship to the point they each other as brothers.
Also with mental of the Pro's none of the students shouldn't have been on the battlefield especially in the second war just look at what happened at the mountain after the villians got advantage alot of pros died but Momo's mentor saved all of the students
Maybe there’s a deeper relationship between Edgeshot and Jeanist? That’d be a cool backstory and maybe explanation of how his quirk is even able to do that? I don’t know man, but I can’t to find out! 😂
Depending on how long Bakugou has been dead, Edgeshot saving his physical body might not do much for his mental damage....even if they were to bring him back to life, there is NO guarantee that he'd be able to use Edgeshot's sacrifice to continue Hero work...it could allow Bakugou to live, but he can't still be a Hero...or Bakugou could be brain-dead and will be in a coma.....
Well, another interaction between edge shot and bakugo is he was there to save him after he was captured by shigaraki. So it's not like they never interacted before. It can be seen as contrived or 'pulled out of the ass' but I like this better than jeanest theory. to be honest i feel like hori is not the type to just do this as a save, but was deliberately planned. I may need to go back through the manga to see if anything is foreshadowed.
Besides him entering bodies as one of his trademarks and him stating he left tiny holes on villians hearts so it would be smart not to move too much also knocking out Kurogiri somehow

I was also confused about Edgeshot being able to become Bakugo's heart. It didn't make a lot of sense to me. I'm hoping(?) that we'll get more of a backstory for Edge, just so his death would mean more to the audience, but it's kind of weird. Also, response for 9:52 Yes, they are the same blood type (A).
I will say it is what a hero would do although the hero they chose seems random. A hero saving a younger person who is still a kid isn’t a suprise and is in fact a heroic act to brighten a character that’s been kind of a background hero.
You know I didn't see that coming everybody was talking about "Best Jeanist this" or "Eri that" but nobody was talking about Edgeshot the guy who goes into people body doing something lol
2 problems First off, Edgeshot has had no focus to make us care about him to the point I completely forgot he was in the battlefield Secondly they just killed bakugo as a fake out with no narrative purpose. They should of held off on reviving him until Deku saw his corpse and we got his reaction. As for the logicbehind it, i don't have a problem with that. The problem woth it is how it's worded. Edge isn't literally becoming a heart, he's using his fibre body to sew together the broken bits of Bakugo's heart.
I 100% agree that Deku should've witnessed Bakugo's near death experience. The only people that saw was Shigaraki, some heroes that aren't really his friend save for BJ, and us.
They don't have time to wait on Deku to decide to save his life,he doesn't have much time also just because he is attempting to save him doesn't me it already succeeded or anything cus he already stated he his going to need Jeanist's quirk to help him also Shiggy is pissed and coming for Bakugo so they aren't safe performing this operation
Edgeshot did something absolutely nuts, however it does make sense to some degree, he can make his body extremely thin and it was never specified that he couldn't become other shapes, tho it does make sense, we saw him only as his head what's to say he can't only exist as his heart which at the very least would allow bakugo time to continue actually doing damaged to shigaraki (he was making shigaraki/afo worried bc of how much he reminded him of the second ofa) given that bakugo can do this it makes sense that edgeshot would do this despite not having any emotional connection Given that edgeshot wasn't definitely a match for bakugo there is still a possibility that he may get rejected out of bakugos body but that will take a bit, tho probably long enough for deku to arrive
what if there powers combine and Bakugo can now handle his new cluster power/ awakening. he can in theory and further training, enhance it to a greater degree by shrinking the explosions to a subatomic level out of his body. as a result, he wont get physically hurt using his quirk and he can out put greater levels of power as a result.
9:36 seeing as most pro hero quirks or some quirks in general arnt eloborated on theres a huge probability that alot of these quirks have features and abilities unshown to put it simply it's not surprising in the slightest that edge some one who literally enters bodies could do what he's doing to save bakugou plus he's not just magically healing bakugou best jeanist also has to aid him
I saw this and while a bigger build up would have been nice I liked the surprise. Edgeshot becoming his heart is more metaphoric, his quirk will basically stitch bakugo back together, more than likely since he is giving all of himself it will reinforce bakugo's new body. You can think of it as like the reverse dabi, part of his body isn't his original his but strengthened it, while dabi had no say in that done to him this was a heros choice
I admit that this comes our of left field and that's the point every western Mainstream superhero that inspired MHA has died countless times in the past 50 years in comparison this so much more subtle and laughably believable. At the end of the day maybe the reality that death is certain and the declined birthrate in Japan paired with staggering suicide rates loom over Japand rapidly aging population the younger generation and target audience might understand the underlying message and sometimes abstract thinking makes more sense than overthinking.
Personally I don't think Horikoshi should have decided to do this whole 'Bakugo death' stuff. However I don't know why people though he was going to kill the secondary protagonist off. All we can do now is wait until the next chapter so that hopefully we can get an explanation.
Imagine he doesn't show that side of the fight for couple chapter I would be convinced he is trolling and probably trying to finalize his decision of to handle the situation especially with all the hate he is getting 😎
I think if he does become his heart then No1 i think as you said it will be like a organ transplant and since it may be like that,as AFO said he might live in bakugo's mind and maybe even have his abilities also like OFA. Or 2 nothing he just becomes his heart. And I really like that horikoshi is doing this idea.
I hate how people instantly assume its an "ass pull" like people tend to say. People tend to assume things before it happens. Like seeing spoilers and judging the whole chapter on a single spoilers. I've seen alot of people doing this. Im pretty sure we are going to have a backstory on Edgeshot and Best Jeanist on how and why he can do this in the next chapter. (or in a few chapters) Even if your "theory" wasnt the right one as to come as how Bakugo would be revived doesn't instantly make Horikoshi's one bad. I say he wouldn’t have any of this, first All Might retired because of his kidnapping, then Best Jeanist who presumed to be dead (But came back though), and now Edgeshot sacrificed himself to save his life. He’ll blame himself again and take it all on SFO just like how Hulk did in ‘03

I think Edgeshot saving Bakugo is an interesting twist, but not what I thought would happen. I figured it would be some combination of Eri and Overhaul, because at least that would have reversed or recovered from any potential damage Bakugo could have from being dead. I’m not a doctor or anything, and we don’t know how long he’s been dead, but I imagine there’d be some sort of damage. The other thing is, Edgeshot said he’d move Bakugo’s body. So there’s the matter of what would happen Edgeshot effectively becomes Bakugo’s heart and gets blood flowing again. I don’t know if they’ll go that deep with it, but I imagine there would have to be some more work to do on Bakugo’s body.
If best jeanist was replaced with edge shot as far as a relationship with bakugo it would make a lotttt more. Like has bakugo even held a conversation with edge shot before??
I second that but like I said before best 👖 should be able to save him cause of fiber and possibly he could have the power to control muscle 💪 fibers. Even if best can't control muscle fiber. I belive he could have use regular fibers.
That's is exactly what I was thinking Edge was barley a relevant character in this entire manga and he comes from nowhere to save bakugo. This would have been completely fine if we saw just a little bit more of him.

I don't hate Bakugo but this is the 2nd time this has happened, as for a power up..I don't say so, look at the science behind his attack, explosions inside his body all over, only reason he died was due to his heart taking alot of damage..what stopping rest of his body from not taking similar damage? YES they might have saved his life..but in theory what if his bones and muscles are totaled to? like to the point Recovery Girl's quirk is useless, they would need Eri's quirk and her quirk is still charging up.

I think we expected there was a way for Bakugo to survive, but 1) His "death" should've had more impact, maybe allow Deku to see him like this before he wakes up/is healed and 2) Why Edgeshot? Why not BJ since they have a relationship?

Prob due to same case Byakuya's death was one of the first deaths I think the fandom cried about to the point Kubo had to retcon it..seeing The aftermath of Bakugo's death, I'm sure the fandom activated their special ability "TEARS OF RETCON!: when a fandom cries about something, If the mangaka is very weak-willed they will retcon the said thing. Which if is the case is kind of a shame SINCE in my opinion its better if the story has stakes for the main characters, look at Chainsaw Man for example the creator kills of main characters left right and center on that series, JJK a certain character died won't say who for anime onlys. NOW you think I would mention Demon Slayer, for all the deaths in Demon Slayer none are the main 3, yeah the main three get brutally hurt at times but they never kick the bucket. (expect once but again Anime only spoilers). the problem with this is if your main characters are never in mortal danger and you know they gonna be perfectly fine after, what the point of having them fight in these battles?. I would hope someone will tell Bakugo that he has Edge Shot as a heart. I wonder how Bakugo would feel having a hero as his new heart. So my question is will Bakugo can go to the next level with a new heart and will that new heart withstand the pressure and stress on it. Will Bakugo be still out recovering from his wound or would he go back into a fight. I hope Shigaraki won't noticed what they are doing to Bakugo. Edge Shot is one of my favorite character. Sad and wow on his part. He will be missed. So it seems like the adult heroes are ready to sacrifice themselves for the greater good to stop the great evil, so will the teenagers will also self sacrifice too to stop the great evil? All heroes needs to help Japan so the future can be bright for the younger generation. So All for One is going to die soon, does that mean the quirks he is stealing won't last inside? I know the heroes he is stealing will die faster and not a hero anyone but quirkless. Can't wait for more vidoes

People can believe that edgeshot can have a still functioning body despite turning into a god damn string and having knowledge of the human body by going inside of them consistently but you cant believe that edgeshot can give those functioning strings with all the blood, heart, etc to bakugou to allow his body to continue function. If he tried showcasing this earlier in the story giving away a couple of strings would be like an arm and leg
Right, but I want details on how this works. Does he die from this, is he conscious inside Bakugo? Why does he need to use his whole body to do this instead of just an arm? Etc.

@@TruthHero I think that his quirk has been explained before and this is just pure mastery after years of experimentation, My theory is while a leg cannot be reshaped into a functioning heart (cause its internal functions are those of.. a leg), edgeshot's own healthy heart can be spaguettified and put into bakugo's body in what will be the sickest and most dramatical heart transplant scene in shonen history. His own heart for bakugos is the final price, and a fair one to pay considering that everyone present witnessed bakugo outspeed and bother shigaraki like no one else there could, at very young age he showed his potential to be out stand and edgeshot is going full hero on this one, salute edgeshot damn he was noble man... Let us not forget this may be temporal cause eri is stil there and overhaul could be back at some point, perhaps one of them could turn things back to normal later on? Let me know what you think 🤟🏼

Shigaraki could still stop this from happening. He could easily fire a massive wind blast at the group or something, but I doubt it would happen. I'm fine with Bakugo coming back but killing him off would've elevated the story.
If you notices, he looks cocky and then his thought trailed off, I think he sees what is happening and maybe one of the heroes like Mirio will have to sacrifice himself to take an attack for Bakugo while he is waking up
Horikoshi really needed to do a better job elucidating where every hero was at the beginning of all these battles. We had genuinely no idea EdgeShot was even at this fight, and I have a bad feeling that stuff like this may keep happening (if we are being honest, it already has with the big 3 showing up)
Yeah we did, he was fighting with Bakugo and the others before the Big 3 made their big move. He sliced a bunch of Shiggy’s fingers things off, it was pretty cool.

Im honestly really disappointed in this arc, I feel like its just going on for way to long. I hate how all for one is back because now we are going to have to go through even more chapters just to get to Deku who is not even here yet. Never mind toga's battle and whatever Dabi is pulling.
In this chapter the guy in the usa was sad that star sacrificed herself for everybody and helped a lot and it is mentioned that the kids grow up watching adults and adults are supposed to support the kids those kids then do that for the next generation and that is exactly what edge is doing he is sacrificing himself to save the next generation. He even says that this a life they cannot afford to loose so he gives up his. I don’t think it’s an azzpull at all
I have mixed opinons, on the one hand i would prefer if he stays dead since it would gives the final war stakes. Or the other hand, if bakugo does live (which i wouldnt mind either) there probally will repercussion, i saw a tweet by @thekittyheart which said that he would live but unable to use his quirk which tbh i would be 100% okay since it would allow bakugo to be in young deku shoes and gives his story arc a bitter sweet ending. this could mean where going to see the american pro heroes like cc and skycrawler in mha proper which would be cool. I honestly disagree with people making mickey mouse jokes and saying it an "asspull" which honestly i would disagree with since in ch 88 of the manga we saw edgeshot make kurogiri unconsious by fiddling with his insides so it not impossible that he could alter his body fibers to patch the heart back together. People need to stop bashing hori for this decision, i think it best if we wait to see where horikoshi will go with this As someone from uk, i agree that winston churchill did the right thing by not negotiating with the germany.

An idea I have is that Edgeshot could stabilise Bakugo but not immediately bring him back still leaving him vulnerable to Shigaraki. This way, when Deku arrives he can see Bakugo about to be finished off allowing him to become enraged like a lot of people thought he would be.
This whole Edgeshot thing could just be the thing that stops MHA’s transition from being a great anime to a legendary anime. There are no stakes at all in this anime, maybe one or two irrelevant people at max will die.
MHA isnt even as great as people say it is😒. So over rated. It had potential to be amazing but it went down hill after 1st season.actually much earlier

@@studysmartderps7305 and Horikoshi finally had the chance to do one thing right- killing Bakugo, and showing that many times not all dreams are fulfilled, and not all potential is unlocked. Bakugo would have undoubtedly been remembered as one of the best characters in the series if he truly had died, but Horikoshi botched it up completely.
It is... kinda based. The reason why i think this is because edgeshot and Bakugo is almost complete opposites in almost everything (even quirk to an extent) this is showing a new Arc for bakugo becoming more like the second and much calmer user of one for all this is going to be very important in the my hero universe most likely and theres no real way to come up with a reason for bakugo's sudden change of personality, from an explosive and obnoxious personality to a calm and understanding one, being bakugos heart must change something. Some reasons why bakugo and edgeshot is almost opposites: 1: bakugos personality is; loud and arrogant meanwhile edgeshots personality is a quiet, subtle and modest 2:bakugo's quirk is explosion as edgeshots quirk is foldabody these two quirks contrast eachother the reason for this is the sound diffrence, ones very loud and the other is quiet 3:They're motives for becoming heros are (i assume) totally different katsuki's motive was to just to beat up bad guys while edgeshots is most likely to save lives and be a legal ninja
technically it was a life or death situation that includes war in the process. so that means it makes sense for edgeshot to do this in a threatening situation.

I think what edge shot do this is a great idea but need a more to prove but think he can work on the human body like it child play so him be able to do this and it seem that him and best are real close so to make a difference to your friends and the rest of the heroes when they need a pick me up is a great and fit ending to the ninja hero
Sometimes you have to sacrifice everything for the greater good when it comes to wars, that's what soldiers do. They sacrifice themselves to protect what they love knowing that they could die.
Lol I have a new theory: Obviously It’s still gonna take Deku a while to get to Shigaraki and Bakugo with his new buff isn’t enough to stop Shigaraki… could Bakugo now use Edgeshot’s quirk to get into Shigaraki’s body and put explosions inside him while Shigaraki AFO is turned off so Shigaraki can’t steal his quirk(s?) or heal ???
This is what im thinking. You may agree or disagree but thought this could make some sense but I think Edgeshot did this because he really cares about the students. Even tho he is not around the students or anything like that but he knew he could be the only person to do this at the moment to save Bakugou. I also think he's doing this because he is still a young boy with a big future.
It just seems to me like the author pulled a random ass character from his disposable character list and chose a top hero so people would kind of know him because he was too scared of killing an important character like best jeanist
I was thinking of Edgeshot just Cutting/detaching Bakugo's injured heart from the inside and with the Help of Jeanist and Tamaki, they would transplant a brand new heart manifested from Tamaki Amajiki after eating a piece of Bakugo or something
I want to see afo get younger amd younger by the battle. Also, can't they change do a heart transfer later? Like after the war? To be fair, heroes don't need to be related to people they save.
Considering the author wants to end this manga this year I think it is.. Literally expect ANYTHING to happen.. Hell.. expect GOKU to arrive to save the day. Any sort of depth, lore etc to be good and well thought out... forget it.. The author is just rushing as much as he can to get things done. Soo much potential of a series... wasted cos the author could no longer be assed

Personally I think it is ridiculous but not unfathomable. Edgeshot was really only in a couple panels before this moment so I completely forgot he was even there, and yeah they have nothing in common so it doesn’t make sense for him to jump in. But I can get down with him having this ability, BUT, if you’re gonna kill characters they should stay dead, in my opinion. I am a huge BakuStan but there have been no real important characters dying other than Midnight. So if the story doesn’t even have the risks of main characters kicking the bucket. I don’t get what there is to worry about for the future of this world. Even if the villains win, Heros will just recover and come back at em. So to me it seems like there’s no real risk here. Maybe I’m just too used to people dying left and right in Thrones and Asoiaf, but come on kill someone Horikoshi!!
I can’t get behind the whole thing about AFO rewinding out of existence. That is a dumb way to end the dark lord of mha. He should have died from getting one for all. Imagine, everyone is too exhausted from fighting everyone else’s to stop a prime AFO. So they have no choice but to surrender. AFO looks at shigaraki, knowing that he isn’t his puppet anymore and kills him. He approaches midoriya, saying that while he can’t take OFA anymore, he will sleep better knowing that it will be out of his hair for good. He raises his hand to kill deku and begin rebuilding his empire. Then deku gets a flashback to what the fourth user said in the vestige world. About how OFA drains the life force of a user who has a quirk. Then deku thinks to himself, “If that’s what OFA could do to the 20 year old 4th user for having one quirk, what would it do to a 140+ year old 10th user for having dozens of quirks?” Then deku makes an offer to AFO, in exchange for no more killing, deku will give one for all to AFO. AFO smiles and agrees to the terms. He cuts his hand and extends it to deku who in turn closes his eyes and reaches his bloody and broken hand to AFO. They shake hands and AFO’s body starts to glow the same way deku’s did when he got OFA. (You know, the red lines and the glowing skin. Accompanied by red and black lightning). AFO laughs maniacally and says that from now on, the world shall be his kingdom and the dark lord will rule with an iron fist. He raises his clenched fist to the sky and continues to laugh. But then he notices that his skin is getting wrinkly and his bones are becoming more visible. OFA is draining AFO’s life force so fast that he is aging rapidly in front of deku. He looks at deku with a shocked expression as his eyes have begun to sink into their sockets and he coughs up some blood. Deku explains what’s happening and AFO is both shocked and enraged. He tries to attack deku but gets punched in the gut before he can land a hit. He coughs up more blood and falls on his knees. He looks up at midoriya and sees a look of absolute contempt on deku’s face. AFO starts to chuckle between coughs. Deku looks confused. He asks AFO what is so funny. We see AFO’s body has gotten even more old and withered away. He looks at deku and says “that was a dirty trick you pulled. But I guess I should have expected this. After all…”. We cut to deku with a terrified expression on his face as AFO says “…you get that from my side of the family”. AFO’s body crumbles into dust and blows away in the wind. Deku takes out his phone, calls his mother, and says “Hey mom, I think it’s time you told me a little bit about dad”. End of chapter. Chapter title: At the end of days, it’s all just dust. Wouldn’t that be a great ending for AFO? Almost poetic? The ultimate thief got the ultimate treasure. But in the end, it cost him everything. Including his life.
I was alright with Jeanist maybe saving him but Edgeshot? I don’t understand it. I’m always one to side with both sides as a writer point of view BUT I just don’t understand this pull? Like you said.. could be for a certain reason later on in the story.
Bakugo's heart is ravage to the point pieces are flat out gone. It's not just about sewing em back, he would need to make brand new pieces and pretty sure the tread on his costume is sufficient enough. So Edge becoming said wire will not only support his new heat better but it may make it more resilient, thus would put more ease to Bakugo's powers.
This is completely out of nowhere lol. I'm still digesting, but it's not the best way to bring him back at all. If BJ did this at least we would have some meaningful emotion behind it.
This is an ass pull in more ways than 1. If we really think about EdgeShot's quirk, he has the ability to one shot a quirkless Shiggy - he's shown this before... In an addition to the general anger about him suddenly being able to turn into substitute organs, this is really just a way to write out a character with blatant hax powers

There was an idea floating around about Chisaki (overhaul) doing what Midoriya said and going to apologize to Eri for everything he’s done. Somehow they receive the news of Bakugou’s death and for the sake of his life Eri rewinds Chisaki so he get to the scene and fix Bakugou. Of which then maybe he can even help hinder Shigaraki who knows. I though the idea as a good one and interconnects other story lines as well as let’s Bakugou sit dead for awhile. (This ain’t a redemption arc just to add). Maybe it doesn’t make total sense but I thought out of all the options one could go with to revive Bakugou, I personally thought it was the best. As for the Edgeshot stuff, I wish he was at least written to have been on the same scene so he wouldn’t have just popped out of no where. I’m hoping we at least get a flashback
Here’s a summary of my thoughts on the Bakugo situation: People are criticizing the fact he’s coming back BEFORE it’s even happened. It’s like when people were upset about Hagakure being “revealed” as the traitor, when the VERY next chapter made those same people do a complete 180. Not saying he won’t come back (I think that if he has to die, which he still could by the end, this was not a proper sendoff for the character), but anything could happen between now and then. Maybe the method their using will fail due to outside influence (Shigaraki), and the way he is brought back might be more costly than this, like Jeanist dying for instance. And most Shounen series have done this before, and sometimes even more than once. So WHY does MHA have to be criticized more for doing the exact same thing? Also, I think it’s handling the “fake death” thing so much better than most series. Usually a character is brought back suddenly with little to no explanation, or we’re given the explanation AFTER they’re revived. Here, they’ve outright told us that they intend to bring him back and how they intend to do it, so it’s much less of a deus ex machina. And again, I think he deserves a much better death than this. The perfect end for him Ivan imagine is that he dies at the end in Deku’s arms and we get our sad goodbye seen for them and anyone else that matters. And if All Might ends up dying like Nighteye predicted, Deku will sign Bakugo’s card in his place. People are just far too desperate for bloodshed and death. Newsflash, that’s not what this series is about. And the stakes ARE still there. Just because some people aren’t dying doesn’t mean they can’t. I mean, Bakugo technically DID die, quite easily I might add, and it’s costing the life of another hero to bring him back.
The ability he is doing is going super thin the rest is knowledge and experience he gained from entering people's bodies which he would have have studied hard for when he was young to use his quirk in his style

I love Bakugo and of course I don't want him to die.... But definitely this IS NOT the way of reviving him 😭 He has no sentimental connection or anything with Edgeshot. In fact Horikoshi has not made US empathize enough with Edgeshot to at least suffer his sacrifice.

I'm worried about Shigaraki being the final battle since it looks like Deku is trying to 'save' tenko and I would hate for the final battle to end with the talk no justu technique.
I think the fact edge shot being able to become fiber like and paper thin makes it possible for him to revive and becomes bakugos heart by recreating his own heart as like a heart transplant by use of a quirk. I like how this happened this way. He was the one that could slip into the fight undetected and help bakugo sooner then the other heros could make it the scene to help bakugo. Definitely was expecting edge shot to be the one to sacrifice himself to save bakugo but I think it was written well for saving bakugo the quickest way and to get him back into the fight so him, deku and endeavor can fight together against shiguraki with all the main heros present.
I'm curious if bakugo gains an advantage to this to boost his 2nd user questions and his ability to tap into vestiges. And will bakugo gain any perks. Bakugos story is obviously deeper and more complex then we think

I think Eri's quirk "proves the Quirk Doomsday theory" because it's so absurdly powerful. The fact that the Quirk exists in the first place proves that humanity has already reached a point where quirks exist that are too dangerous to exist, you know? Thank goodness Eri has a kind heart and has Aizawa/Mirio to look after her, because if she turned evil as she grew up... That would spell the end of society. Just like how Shigaraki has become so powerful it's almost hard to comprehend

Edgeshot and Best Jeanist have a deeper relationship back from their hero course days or maybe even before that. They could be childhood friends and have had long conversations on Jeanist taking Bakugo under his wing. Maybe Edgeshot seeing that Jeanist has high hopes in the explosive teen. There could be many reasons and the flashback shows Best Jeanist and Edgeshot have a close friendship to the point they each other as brothers.
Also with mental of the Pro's none of the students shouldn't have been on the battlefield especially in the second war just look at what happened at the mountain after the villians got advantage alot of pros died but Momo's mentor saved all of the students

Depending on how long Bakugou has been dead, Edgeshot saving his physical body might not do much for his mental damage....even if they were to bring him back to life, there is NO guarantee that he'd be able to use Edgeshot's sacrifice to continue Hero work...it could allow Bakugou to live, but he can't still be a Hero...or Bakugou could be brain-dead and will be in a coma.....
I wonder if Bakugo would feel guilty about Edgeshot (possibly) sacrificing himself for Bakugo, just like when All Might lost the last of his power
Well, another interaction between edge shot and bakugo is he was there to save him after he was captured by shigaraki. So it's not like they never interacted before. It can be seen as contrived or 'pulled out of the ass' but I like this better than jeanest theory. to be honest i feel like hori is not the type to just do this as a save, but was deliberately planned. I may need to go back through the manga to see if anything is foreshadowed.
Besides him entering bodies as one of his trademarks and him stating he left tiny holes on villians hearts so it would be smart not to move too much also knocking out Kurogiri somehow

I will say it is what a hero would do although the hero they chose seems random. A hero saving a younger person who is still a kid isn’t a suprise and is in fact a heroic act to brighten a character that’s been kind of a background hero.

2 problems
First off, Edgeshot has had no focus to make us care about him to the point I completely forgot he was in the battlefield
Secondly they just killed bakugo as a fake out with no narrative purpose. They should of held off on reviving him until Deku saw his corpse and we got his reaction.
As for the logicbehind it, i don't have a problem with that. The problem woth it is how it's worded. Edge isn't literally becoming a heart, he's using his fibre body to sew together the broken bits of Bakugo's heart.
I 100% agree that Deku should've witnessed Bakugo's near death experience. The only people that saw was Shigaraki, some heroes that aren't really his friend save for BJ, and us.

Edgeshot did something absolutely nuts, however it does make sense to some degree, he can make his body extremely thin and it was never specified that he couldn't become other shapes, tho it does make sense, we saw him only as his head what's to say he can't only exist as his heart which at the very least would allow bakugo time to continue actually doing damaged to shigaraki (he was making shigaraki/afo worried bc of how much he reminded him of the second ofa) given that bakugo can do this it makes sense that edgeshot would do this despite not having any emotional connection
Given that edgeshot wasn't definitely a match for bakugo there is still a possibility that he may get rejected out of bakugos body but that will take a bit, tho probably long enough for deku to arrive
what if there powers combine and Bakugo can now handle his new cluster power/ awakening. he can in theory and further training, enhance it to a greater degree by shrinking the explosions to a subatomic level out of his body. as a result, he wont get physically hurt using his quirk and he can out put greater levels of power as a result.

I saw this and while a bigger build up would have been nice I liked the surprise. Edgeshot becoming his heart is more metaphoric, his quirk will basically stitch bakugo back together, more than likely since he is giving all of himself it will reinforce bakugo's new body. You can think of it as like the reverse dabi, part of his body isn't his original his but strengthened it, while dabi had no say in that done to him this was a heros choice

I admit that this comes our of left field and that's the point every western Mainstream superhero that inspired MHA has died countless times in the past 50 years in comparison this so much more subtle and laughably believable. At the end of the day maybe the reality that death is certain and the declined birthrate in Japan paired with staggering suicide rates loom over Japand rapidly aging population the younger generation and target audience might understand the underlying message and sometimes abstract thinking makes more sense than overthinking.

Personally I don't think Horikoshi should have decided to do this whole 'Bakugo death' stuff. However I don't know why people though he was going to kill the secondary protagonist off. All we can do now is wait until the next chapter so that hopefully we can get an explanation.

I hate how people instantly assume its an "ass pull" like people tend to say. People tend to assume things before it happens. Like seeing spoilers and judging the whole chapter on a single spoilers. I've seen alot of people doing this. Im pretty sure we are going to have a backstory on Edgeshot and Best Jeanist on how and why he can do this in the next chapter. (or in a few chapters)

I think Edgeshot saving Bakugo is an interesting twist, but not what I thought would happen. I figured it would be some combination of Eri and Overhaul, because at least that would have reversed or recovered from any potential damage Bakugo could have from being dead. I’m not a doctor or anything, and we don’t know how long he’s been dead, but I imagine there’d be some sort of damage. The other thing is, Edgeshot said he’d move Bakugo’s body. So there’s the matter of what would happen Edgeshot effectively becomes Bakugo’s heart and gets blood flowing again. I don’t know if they’ll go that deep with it, but I imagine there would have to be some more work to do on Bakugo’s body.
If best jeanist was replaced with edge shot as far as a relationship with bakugo it would make a lotttt more. Like has bakugo even held a conversation with edge shot before??

I don't hate Bakugo but this is the 2nd time this has happened, as for a power up..I don't say so, look at the science behind his attack, explosions inside his body all over, only reason he died was due to his heart taking alot of damage..what stopping rest of his body from not taking similar damage? YES they might have saved his life..but in theory what if his bones and muscles are totaled to? like to the point Recovery Girl's quirk is useless, they would need Eri's quirk and her quirk is still charging up.

People just cant accept that Bakugo is too important to the story to actually die.

Here is my few reasons I think it was force! lets begin with Edgeshot, previous in the fight we never seen Edgeshot in said fight I might be wrong about that, but If I ain't then him suddenly being here is oddly luckly like "oh just the person we need is here to save the lad." and two, why not do it the chapter before this one? Why have that chapter confirm hes dead only for next chapters hes suddenly fine. "Hes dead.." *one chapter later* "OH JUST KIDDING! LOL GOT YOU DIDN'T I?!"
thats my two reasons I think the fandom forced their hands into the story. Which if is the case is kind of a shame SINCE in my opinion its better if the story has stakes for the main characters, look at Chainsaw Man for example the creator kills of main characters left right and center on that series, JJK a certain character died won't say who for anime onlys. NOW you think I would mention Demon Slayer, for all the deaths in Demon Slayer none are the main 3, yeah the main three get brutally hurt at times but they never kick the bucket. (expect once but again Anime only spoilers). the problem with this is if your main characters are never in mortal danger and you know they gonna be perfectly fine after, what the point of having them fight in these battles?. SO sorry about that long ass essay I get cared away.

Edge Shot is one of my favorite character. Sad and wow on his part. He will be missed.

People can believe that edgeshot can have a still functioning body despite turning into a god damn string and having knowledge of the human body by going inside of them consistently but you cant believe that edgeshot can give those functioning strings with all the blood, heart, etc to bakugou to allow his body to continue function.
If he tried showcasing this earlier in the story giving away a couple of strings would be like an arm and leg

@@TruthHero I think that his quirk has been explained before and this is just pure mastery after years of experimentation, My theory is while a leg cannot be reshaped into a functioning heart (cause its internal functions are those of.. a leg), edgeshot's own healthy heart can be spaguettified and put into bakugo's body in what will be the sickest and most dramatical heart transplant scene in shonen history. His own heart for bakugos is the final price, and a fair one to pay considering that everyone present witnessed bakugo outspeed and bother shigaraki like no one else there could, at very young age he showed his potential to be out stand and edgeshot is going full hero on this one, salute edgeshot damn he was noble man... Let us not forget this may be temporal cause eri is stil there and overhaul could be back at some point, perhaps one of them could turn things back to normal later on? Let me know what you think 🤟🏼

Shigaraki could still stop this from happening. He could easily fire a massive wind blast at the group or something, but I doubt it would happen. I'm fine with Bakugo coming back but killing him off would've elevated the story.
If you notices, he looks cocky and then his thought trailed off, I think he sees what is happening and maybe one of the heroes like Mirio will have to sacrifice himself to take an attack for Bakugo while he is waking up

Horikoshi really needed to do a better job elucidating where every hero was at the beginning of all these battles. We had genuinely no idea EdgeShot was even at this fight, and I have a bad feeling that stuff like this may keep happening (if we are being honest, it already has with the big 3 showing up)

I honestly disagree with people making mickey mouse jokes and saying it an "asspull" which honestly i would disagree with since in ch 88 of the manga we saw edgeshot make kurogiri unconsious by fiddling with his insides so it not impossible that he could alter his body fibers to patch the heart back together.

An idea I have is that Edgeshot could stabilise Bakugo but not immediately bring him back still leaving him vulnerable to Shigaraki. This way, when Deku arrives he can see Bakugo about to be finished off allowing him to become enraged like a lot of people thought he would be.

This whole Edgeshot thing could just be the thing that stops MHA’s transition from being a great anime to a legendary anime. There are no stakes at all in this anime, maybe one or two irrelevant people at max will die.
There's stakes a main character doesn't have to die every arc to establish that.

Bakugo would have undoubtedly been remembered as one of the best characters in the series if he truly had died, but Horikoshi botched it up completely.

The reason why i think this is because edgeshot and Bakugo is almost complete opposites in almost everything (even quirk to an extent)
this is showing a new Arc for bakugo becoming more like the second and much calmer user of one for all this is going to be very important in the my hero universe most likely and theres no real way to come up with a reason for bakugo's sudden change of personality, from an explosive and obnoxious personality to a calm and understanding one, being bakugos heart must change something.
Some reasons why bakugo and edgeshot is almost opposites:
1: bakugos personality is; loud and arrogant meanwhile edgeshots personality is a quiet, subtle and modest
2:bakugo's quirk is explosion as edgeshots quirk is foldabody these two quirks contrast eachother the reason for this is the sound diffrence, ones very loud and the other is quiet
3:They're motives for becoming heros are (i assume) totally different katsuki's motive was to just to beat up bad guys while edgeshots is most likely to save lives and be a legal ninja
I wonder if them being opposites would lend itself nicely to a team up, or combining their powers and bodies to fight Shigaraki
technically it was a life or death situation that includes war in the process. so that means it makes sense for edgeshot to do this in a threatening situation.

I think what edge shot do this is a great idea but need a more to prove but think he can work on the human body like it child play so him be able to do this and it seem that him and best are real close so to make a difference to your friends and the rest of the heroes when they need a pick me up is a great and fit ending to the ninja hero
Sometimes you have to sacrifice everything for the greater good when it comes to wars, that's what soldiers do. They sacrifice themselves to protect what they love knowing that they could die.

This is what im thinking. You may agree or disagree but thought this could make some sense but I think Edgeshot did this because he really cares about the students. Even tho he is not around the students or anything like that but he knew he could be the only person to do this at the moment to save Bakugou. I also think he's doing this because he is still a young boy with a big future.

Personally I think it is ridiculous but not
unfathomable. Edgeshot was really only in a couple panels before this moment so I completely forgot he was even there, and yeah they have nothing in common so it doesn’t make sense for him to jump in. But I can get down with him having this ability, BUT, if you’re gonna kill characters they should stay dead, in my opinion. I am a huge BakuStan but there have been no real important characters dying other than Midnight. So if the story doesn’t even have the risks of main characters kicking the bucket. I don’t get what there is to worry about for the future of this world. Even if the villains win, Heros will just recover and come back at em. So to me it seems like there’s no real risk here. Maybe I’m just too used to people dying left and right in Thrones and Asoiaf, but come on kill someone Horikoshi!!
I can’t get behind the whole thing about AFO rewinding out of existence. That is a dumb way to end the dark lord of mha. He should have died from getting one for all.
Imagine, everyone is too exhausted from fighting everyone else’s to stop a prime AFO. So they have no choice but to surrender. AFO looks at shigaraki, knowing that he isn’t his puppet anymore and kills him. He approaches midoriya, saying that while he can’t take OFA anymore, he will sleep better knowing that it will be out of his hair for good. He raises his hand to kill deku and begin rebuilding his empire. Then deku gets a flashback to what the fourth user said in the vestige world. About how OFA drains the life force of a user who has a quirk. Then deku thinks to himself, “If that’s what OFA could do to the 20 year old 4th user for having one quirk, what would it do to a 140+ year old 10th user for having dozens of quirks?” Then deku makes an offer to AFO, in exchange for no more killing, deku will give one for all to AFO. AFO smiles and agrees to the terms. He cuts his hand and extends it to deku who in turn closes his eyes and reaches his bloody and broken hand to AFO. They shake hands and AFO’s body starts to glow the same way deku’s did when he got OFA. (You know, the red lines and the glowing skin. Accompanied by red and black lightning). AFO laughs maniacally and says that from now on, the world shall be his kingdom and the dark lord will rule with an iron fist. He raises his clenched fist to the sky and continues to laugh. But then he notices that his skin is getting wrinkly and his bones are becoming more visible. OFA is draining AFO’s life force so fast that he is aging rapidly in front of deku. He looks at deku with a shocked expression as his eyes have begun to sink into their sockets and he coughs up some blood. Deku explains what’s happening and AFO is both shocked and enraged. He tries to attack deku but gets punched in the gut before he can land a hit. He coughs up more blood and falls on his knees. He looks up at midoriya and sees a look of absolute contempt on deku’s face. AFO starts to chuckle between coughs. Deku looks confused. He asks AFO what is so funny. We see AFO’s body has gotten even more old and withered away. He looks at deku and says “that was a dirty trick you pulled. But I guess I should have expected this. After all…”. We cut to deku with a terrified expression on his face as AFO says “…you get that from my side of the family”. AFO’s body crumbles into dust and blows away in the wind. Deku takes out his phone, calls his mother, and says “Hey mom, I think it’s time you told me a little bit about dad”. End of chapter. Chapter title: At the end of days, it’s all just dust.
Wouldn’t that be a great ending for AFO? Almost poetic? The ultimate thief got the ultimate treasure. But in the end, it cost him everything. Including his life.

I was alright with Jeanist maybe saving him but Edgeshot? I don’t understand it. I’m always one to side with both sides as a writer point of view BUT I just don’t understand this pull? Like you said.. could be for a certain reason later on in the story.
I feel like Horikoshi would've needed to build up Edgeshot a bit more for this to have an impact
Bakugo's heart is ravage to the point pieces are flat out gone. It's not just about sewing em back, he would need to make brand new pieces and pretty sure the tread on his costume is sufficient enough. So Edge becoming said wire will not only support his new heat better but it may make it more resilient, thus would put more ease to Bakugo's powers.
This is completely out of nowhere lol. I'm still digesting, but it's not the best way to bring him back at all. If BJ did this at least we would have some meaningful emotion behind it.

This is an ass pull in more ways than 1. If we really think about EdgeShot's quirk, he has the ability to one shot a quirkless Shiggy - he's shown this before... In an addition to the general anger about him suddenly being able to turn into substitute organs, this is really just a way to write out a character with blatant hax powers

There was an idea floating around about Chisaki (overhaul) doing what Midoriya said and going to apologize to Eri for everything he’s done. Somehow they receive the news of Bakugou’s death and for the sake of his life Eri rewinds Chisaki so he get to the scene and fix Bakugou. Of which then maybe he can even help hinder Shigaraki who knows. I though the idea as a good one and interconnects other story lines as well as let’s Bakugou sit dead for awhile. (This ain’t a redemption arc just to add). Maybe it doesn’t make total sense but I thought out of all the options one could go with to revive Bakugou, I personally thought it was the best.
As for the Edgeshot stuff, I wish he was at least written to have been on the same scene so he wouldn’t have just popped out of no where. I’m hoping we at least get a flashback
Here’s a summary of my thoughts on the Bakugo situation:
People are criticizing the fact he’s coming back BEFORE it’s even happened. It’s like when people were upset about Hagakure being “revealed” as the traitor, when the VERY next chapter made those same people do a complete 180. Not saying he won’t come back (I think that if he has to die, which he still could by the end, this was not a proper sendoff for the character), but anything could happen between now and then. Maybe the method their using will fail due to outside influence (Shigaraki), and the way he is brought back might be more costly than this, like Jeanist dying for instance. And most Shounen series have done this before, and sometimes even more than once. So WHY does MHA have to be criticized more for doing the exact same thing? Also, I think it’s handling the “fake death” thing so much better than most series. Usually a character is brought back suddenly with little to no explanation, or we’re given the explanation AFTER they’re revived. Here, they’ve outright told us that they intend to bring him back and how they intend to do it, so it’s much less of a deus ex machina.
And again, I think he deserves a much better death than this. The perfect end for him Ivan imagine is that he dies at the end in Deku’s arms and we get our sad goodbye seen for them and anyone else that matters. And if All Might ends up dying like Nighteye predicted, Deku will sign Bakugo’s card in his place.
People are just far too desperate for bloodshed and death. Newsflash, that’s not what this series is about. And the stakes ARE still there. Just because some people aren’t dying doesn’t mean they can’t. I mean, Bakugo technically DID die, quite easily I might add, and it’s costing the life of another hero to bring him back.
Edgeshot have this been Ability for this long time but a another’s plot came out nowhere

The ability he is doing is going super thin the rest is knowledge and experience he gained from entering people's bodies which he would have have studied hard for when he was young to use his quirk in his style

I was gonna assume it would be a combination of Jeanist and edgeshot cause that would make sense but should Deku appear I think it would be interesting if 2nd user activated and it was like full circle and since his body has the essence of edgeshot he can manipulate his sweat like water bending and use the nitroglycerin to jump start his own heart idk
What is the 2nd User's quirk though?
@@TruthHero I still believe the theory it’s future bakugo who is sent to the past at some point who has experienced everything and this is probably all a memory with a memory like some Eren Yeager future past type thing
I'm worried about Shigaraki being the final battle since it looks like Deku is trying to 'save' tenko and I would hate for the final battle to end with the talk no justu technique.
Yeah I wonder how he will try this, especially since AFO is not an enemy of Shigaraki (someone to save Tenko from).

I think the fact edge shot being able to become fiber like and paper thin makes it possible for him to revive and becomes bakugos heart by recreating his own heart as like a heart transplant by use of a quirk. I like how this happened this way. He was the one that could slip into the fight undetected and help bakugo sooner then the other heros could make it the scene to help bakugo. Definitely was expecting edge shot to be the one to sacrifice himself to save bakugo but I think it was written well for saving bakugo the quickest way and to get him back into the fight so him, deku and endeavor can fight together against shiguraki with all the main heros present.
I'm curious if bakugo gains an advantage to this to boost his 2nd user questions and his ability to tap into vestiges. And will bakugo gain any perks. Bakugos story is obviously deeper and more complex then we think
I think it's funny the writers always find a away to tie deku and bakugo to ofa. This is important and will be the tying end to defeating afo and shiguraki
