Really goes to show how damn strong APHE is in the game that it's better than HEAT and APDS.
Yeah. As long as your tank has it, the other ammunition types are basically sidegrade.
More often than not, having more post-pen is better than having a round with more penetration because more penetration wasn't necessary in the first place.
I miss the 1949 version being 7.7 with the bmp and object 906, absolute OP carnage

Man I remember getting the T-54 back in the day, grinding those 3 tanks was bliss. Probably one of the most OP tanks for a long time. Especially when it faced 6.7 Germany almost exclusively.
Leopard 1 was a great counter when its HEATFS didn't suck too.
T-54 (1947) is the best T-54 for sure. Sadly, you get uptiered pretty constant and 7.7 lineup dont really have good tank to use in uptiers so your experience will vary a lot depending on the br you get sucked in to.
Just use the SU-122-54, its 6.7, but still deals well with 8.7's with Heat-FS

I wanted to like it but it's just constant uptiers to darts, heatfs and lrf. and the t54 just can't compete with that

It's funny that nearly every Soviet WW2 era vehicle with the 100mm cannon gets the post-war APCBC round while some later ones (like T-44-100 and T-54) get the WW2 APCR that has worse penetration.
Proof that Gaijin has literally 0 competence for a vehicle based combat game that is WT.
If the BR-412 and BR-412B had actually the poor vertical performance they should have, the APCR would at least have a fraction of a purpose.
One of my favorite tanks of all the Russian tree! This thing is the example sleeper medium tank. I would love to see you play the T-10M though Turny.
Can u play the low tier T-80 its fun to play but has awful turret reaverse, it has good engine tho and has scout i think you will have fun also it seems to bounce everything

Could you play the T-10A. It's one of my favorites and everyone likes to say it's bad. But it's a T-10 chassis with a stabilized 122mm at 7.7. It's bonkers br471d is my luckiest shell with it as well

I HATE when war thunder does that with my camera / crosshair. It's especially annoying on maps where the random debris, overhangs, poles etc are EXACTLY at third person or commander level so whenever I switch view my camera is up in the sky or down staring at the ground...
Why we can even focus the camera / crosshair on these is beyond me. Nobody ever wanted to aim at miss Stella's shop awning ffs gaijin.
For a BR where USSR suffers quite a lot, the T-54 (1947) is quite fun.
Nahhh you did not just call soviet 7.7 suffering , this t 54 , is 4, is 6 ,su 11/9 na radar aa - zsu 2-37 , its my absolute favourite soviet br , you should give it a second chance
@@RADIOaktywnyy I am currently playing USSR at br 7.7 as my highest nation. The reason why I call it suffering is because USSR loses 80% of all games. Personally, I do like the T-54, IS-4M and the BMP-1. The ZSU-37-2 is a decent AA, but it really needs more ammo.

There's something about the T-54 1947 that makes me just dislike it so much to never play it.
Probably because it's like an early version that was quickly replaced. Just doesn't look like a real T-54.
