  • Former Pakistani Ambassador to the US Husain Haqqani has called General Pervez Musharraf a liar who has "undermined the Pakistani state with his support for Hafiz Saeed." He also said Trump's aids cut by themselves would not be enough to change Pakistan. Speaking to Barkha Dutt, he said "First US should stop calling Pakistan an Ally. Then Hot Pursuit & targeted strikes are on the table."

I am not Burkha Dutt fan but as an interviewer she has to moderate it. Pakistani in general have a typical tone and habit of repeating their argument to convince the others party. Also don’t forget this guy is always on book tour.

    2. Does usa wants to denuclearize pakistan?
    3. Do you think raw is meddling in kpk fata balochistan and karachi?
    4. Do you think pakistan will go the venezuela way because of bankruptcy and almost 0 foreign exchange
    5. Pakistan already pays 40 percent of its budget to pay debt, and this figure has and will keep on rising, what do you think will happen when it become as high as 80 percent like sri lanka or burma, do you think this will cause a rebellion as in Syria or french revolution?
    6. What do you think will happen when pakistan debt percentage of gdp goes up too much which has already rising so much?
    7. Do you think china will give pakistan aid(I don't think so) or a bailout
    8. Do you think pro democracy people will rise up against army as it happened in Syria?

Barkha used to be good. Now she is the smarter older version of Faye D'Suza. She went all out Anti Modi and got caught up in very politically biased (pro congress party) media.
She is clever at pushing lies and misleading the viewers, her *questions often have a leading premise that is untrue or half truth or common misconception created by other journalists, then she ends with a question that can only have a certain answer, thus getting the guest to indirectly agree and reaffirm the premise in the question.* Often the guest might be a not so politically acute like a bollywood celeb, and she would drop in a loaded question in the middle.
Yes she is good at her job. She is clever. But people are getting wiser. And some interviewers are smart not to fall for her traps.
But i am hoping she will reform and leave the dark side, and maybe not being part of some main network will give her the independence and she will have the luxury of being HONEST. We do need more good journalists other than Mr AngryYoungMan Goswami. We need global journalists who do not have to tow the govt line or serve the interests of the deep states of USA or Pakistan.

Mr. Hussain Haqqani is not fair rather an opportunist. He is angry because he cannot go back to Pakistan, as he has been labeled as a traitor. He was a part of that mindset and now defected, past behavior depicts future behavior, once a liar is always a liar. A person who is not honest with his home country is absolutely untrustworthy. His remarks are not practicable rather more confusing. USA is an advanced country and for the last 17 years, our armed forces could not do anything foolproof in Afghanistan because still 70% of Afghanistan is in Taliban's control, is Pakistan a hindrance to take care of that 70% area. We should think twice who is guiding us who has been a part of that scheme. Pakistan is constructing a fence that will help and USA does not want that Fence Why? Remember, if triggered Pakistan can be more dangerous than Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Pakistanis want to die and we want to live, so what Mr Haqqani is telling us is like a sugar-coated poison. We need to ascertain the situation carefully before doing something nonsense. Can we afford another Iran? What I see is that now Pakistan is practically in the laps of China and Russia. We cannot content China, THINK!

In this modern age where global news is on finger tips You Watch Pak Channels in order to solve conundrum which even near to impossible for many academics around globe Haqqani just painted rusty wall with dark humor as he always does such as obstacles were brought by ISI else US have had tasted victory long ago pragmatically reminiscent of Vietnam is correct phase to describe US in Afghanistan as we all known History repeats itself now with slight change Pakistan is not Cambodia

      Denius:
I don't watch Pak Channels to 'solve' any 'conundrum'.
As I have said in my comment I watch Pak Channels for "deciphering the deceit propagated by the super-duper lies of Pakistani television talk-show anchors" What the anchors do is a very sophisticated and thorough job . The Pakistani establishment, chiefly the ISI,.PAYS AND LOOKS AFTER THEM WELL for services rendered.
I respect Husain Haqqani for what he says. I have read all his books more than once and don't disagree with even a single sentence that he has written.
I did not see any 'rusty wall' nor trace any 'dark humor' in the interview.
However, I regret to say that your view on the current Pakistan/American/Afghanistan imbroglio is a unfiltered - may I say facile to the point of imbecility - representation of the Pakistani establishment's narrative , as "propagated by the super-duper lies of Pakistani television talk-show anchors" To that extent , your reply helps me by one more step in my exercise of deciphering Pakistani deceit.
Think about it my friend, before you rush for the keyboard.

Former Pakistani Ambassador to the US Husain Haqqani, I have heard lot of talks by him, he is good orator and a good human being and a wise full thinker, unfortunately Pakistan has failed to understand him, or the world, or themselves. Husain Haqqani might be wanted in Pakistan but i am very sure it is for a false allegation against him. Even at this point he has love towards his nation and its people, although he is born and brought up in Pakistan but for sure he has a good heart. May some day god gives some brains to the Pakistanis.

Muhammad Tayyab , US and Israeli investment in India are by private investments. (All most all of it is private investment) Whereas Chinese investment in Pakistan is done by the Chinese government. And moreover most of the “investment” in Pakistan is loans from Chinese government, so in reality it is really not an “investment”

There are 3 issues besides Kashmir that Pakistan must be taken over to the UN to and should be forced to be accountable to - if it is to be NOT declared a terrorist state!
1 - What is the official stance of the Government regarding the death toll in the Bangladesh war and why does it vary from Bangladesh's own estimates?
2 - How are India, Hindus and Sikhs going to be portrayed in the government prescribed textbooks in Pakistan and so far why have their portrayal been so negative and if its true, then why have the Pakistani textbooks not included China's treatment of Uyghur Muslims?
3 - Why not support an independent Tibet or independent East Turkestan?
A question for serious introspection is why are their missiles named after Ghaznavi and Abdali?

Decent interview but expected more from Barkha. She seems to understand the details but appears to have lost the big picture in the process and keeps repeating the same lines. Hussein Haqqani is brilliant as always. Barkha, you should not interrupt an accomplished man like hussein when he is trying to lay out the big picture in front of you.

She is very ill mannered, arrogant, biased and dogmatic. Ask relevant questions and listen their point of view. She is very disrespectful and snobbish.
