    He also discussed China’s warning against nuclear weapons and a possible Beijing peace proposal, Western red lines on weapons deliveries to Ukraine, Russian war crimes and Putin’s.

      A thought; Particularly since last February, Zelenskyy has larger powers than normal, there have been two major and several smaller "retirements" and changes in their officialdom; there have been the usual innuendos and accusations about political maneuvering, yet Oleksiy says confidently, he will ask those questions. I think Zelenskyy is doing a little room cleaning while he can to hurry the EU membership he so devoutly seeks. By the time the shooting is over, Mr. Z will have plenty of people with old scores and be ready to hand young Goncharenko the keys to the thing. FR

      @@fredericrike5974 The only house cleaning has been of collaborators and corrupt officials which have been brought to the attention of parliament, not instigated by Zelensky.For example a recent example of corruption was uncovered by Ukrainian journalists. I would expect this to continue after the war as Ukrainians would not forgive a return to the old ways of the oligarchs. Goncharenko has some followers but I think many view him as rather brash and a troublemaker. However there seems to be many young men in government who can take over the reins if Zelensky doesn't run again

      @@barbarahesford5061 That is good to hear- Ukraine will need those sons of great heat and ambition to finish what has been only started- the really hard part begins after the Russians leave. They will need every Oleksiy Goncharenko they can find, he genuinely believes in democratic government, he questions the excesses he sees today intelligently and cogently- and I don't sense an "ideolog" in him. He seems a man who can make decisions based on the facts on the ground. And there are still many within even Ukraine's present government who are unsure of the way forward- some of them will loose out in this ongoing "weeding out" process. And Zelenskyy surely has a "finger or two" in this "fell hand'. FR

    Finnaly someone who is from Ukraine and knows the history as it is. A lot of 'experts' from the West only look to 2014 and think that's the starting point. The fighting between Ukraine and Russia go's back a lot longer.

      My mom's family is from Ukraine, so I've heard stories about Russia's jackboot going back quite a ways. And stealing washing machines isn't anything new, Russian armies were always marauders, especially on their satellite territories.

    • @hermanwooster8944
      @hermanwooster8944 Před rokem

      @@BlackEpyon There's sadly a lot of revisionism among much of the Ukrainian diaspora, especially when it comes to events surrounding WWII, as even many Ukrainian historians have noted. It's important to approach all accounts carefully for truth, accuracy, and judicious reasoning.

    • @AlinaVossArt
      @AlinaVossArt Před rokem

      @@hermanwooster8944 Really? Do share an example please. That's a lot of big words to say "Ukrainians are lying". I'll ask my entire family across 3 cities in Ukraine how many WWII stories they made up.

    • @hermanwooster8944
      @hermanwooster8944 Před rokem

      @@AlinaVossArt Sure, I'll give an example. Some diaspora publications omitted the 3rd section of the 1941 _Act of Restoration of The Ukrainian State_. This was the section in which Stepan Bandera and Yaroslav Stetsko promised that the new Ukrainian state would work closely with "Greater Germany" which they claimed was building a new order for the world and Europe.
      To be clear, I'm _not_ saying all diaspora Ukrainians are liars. Far from it - there are many diaspora and non-diaspora Ukrainian historians who openly discuss these points, and I find their work to be invaluable. But there are also some in the diaspora community who openly laud Ukrainian forces who fought for the Germans. Several monuments dedicated to such collaborationist forces have even been erected in the West, namely in Canada and the UK by Ukrainian diaspora. For this reason, I worded things quite carefully and suggested looking at all of the evidence because truth should be the goal, not lauding or denouncing groups.
