The beautiful and talented Shirley Jones can also do it all..Lucille Balll...Displayed her legendary range...she was beautiful..athletic..funny..all over that stage...
The show originally aired in colour. Lucy's Butterfly costume was made by Bob Mackie. It had a dark green bodice, with gold, yellow, and orange. Lucy was very brave doing that routine. She was also in a lot of pain. Flying effects are breathtaking, but the harness hurts like hell.
I saw a clip from this show featuring the Tondelayo bit and Lucille Ball's butterfly act on a tribute video to her years ago but could never figure out what show it came from, nor did I know they came from the same program. This just answered a lot of questions for me. Thanks!
The whole thing was wonderful, but the sudden appearance of Durante was what did me in! And was Jerry walking out with toilet paper on his shoe at the end?
