  • Coinciding with her 2022 exhibition in the MPF gallery, social documentary photographer Tessa Bunney talks with Martin Parr in this episode of Sofa Sessions.
Tessa has photographed rural life for over 25 years, revealing the intricacies of the relationship between people, work and the land; in 2019 Martin Parr Foundation commissioned Tessa to document the cider industry in the south west of the UK.
We hear from Tessa about working on the cider project, as well as about the early stages of her career, from work experience photographing in a meat research institute, to working with translators abroad, and her meticulous documentation of traditional fishing practices around the UK.
Tessa's exhibition is on at the Martin Parr Foundation in Bristol until the 25th September.
Produced by the Martin Parr Foundation.
