This makes me sad cause Alan is so happy at first just trying to give them some insight into the dinosaurs they are seeing out the windows (cause as fas as he knows, that's the reason he's here) but then his smile completely disappears as soon as he hears they wanna land the plane, and then they KNOCK HIM OUT, AND THEN GETS CHASED BY DINOSAURS, AGAIN. Poor guy.

And come to think of it of all the cast members of Jurassic World Dominion, only Alan Grant has physically seen the Spinosaurus.
In the book when he returns home and they recount their experiences their quickly shut down and no one ends up believing him. I think the Spino was also a secret project as hinted in the movie that was worked on and the general public weren't aware of. So when Grant is like I saw it, people think he's crazy.
Dominion really should have done better. One thing they could have done was explain what happened to the returning characters following their role. If you watch Dominion it's like they were never main characters at all. So disappointing.

The Gene Guard Act forbids everyone, including Ingen from breeding new dinosaurs. After Ingen merged with Masrani Corp to save themselves from going bankrupt, they secretly violated the Gene Guard Act by creating new dinosaurs to add into Isla Sorna for reasons unknown. The Spinosaurus is one of them, including the Ankylosaurus and the Ceratosaurus (the dinosaur that Dr. Grant and the others encountered after digging through the Spinosaurus poop for the satellite phone).

There's a lot about this movie that didn't hold up well but I will say, I'm blown away by how well done the special effects were in this movie. It's a 21 year old movie, but the Spinosaurus looks absolutely fantastic in every shot. It doesn't matter if it's the CGI shots or the actual animatronic, Spinosaurus in JP3 looks way more realistic than anything in the Jurassic World movies.
Meh... there's plenty of shots where it is OBVIOUSLY very robotic. I'd say Dominion had more realistic looking animations & animatronics.
@@denisucuuu Agreed, the Spinosaurus animatronic looked amazing but it really didn't move that smoothly the few scenes it's actually in. The CGI however still holds up well.
I don't know... It's kinda hard to say how "fantastic" something looks when no shot of it lasts more than 3 seconds.
@@alexbastos6960 that's because CGI works better when there's plenty of practical effects carrying a scene. CGI on its own just doesn't and can't hold up the special effects of a movie
@Em-Jayyy Absolutely. CGI works much better when seamlessly combined with practical effects, but that doesn't mean all CGI takes have to be short.
Take the first two JP movies directed by Steven Spielberg. That take of the Brachiosaurus rearing or the two velociraptors stepping into the kitchen in the first movie. Or even the male T-rex slowly stepping into the cargo hold after Peter Ludlow in TLW.
All those takes feature CGI characters.
Spielberg likes to use these longer, usually wide shots to give us some time to take it all in, all the awesomeness of what's going on.
Now rewatch this scene of the Spinosaurus attacking the plane and see what I'm talking about. 😁
That part around 0:47 of the birds eye view of all those dinos, is just absolutely....almost heartwarmingly beautiful! I love his reaction! Despite all the unimaginable horror he went thru “here”(the other island), it’s just absolute MAGIC to see that sight, and immediately wipes away every trace of terror and unease he has about the place(s), and he becomes as single mindedly enchanted again, like a child, or the first moment he saw one of the dinos for the first time-that brachiosaurus!
Then the lightning change to a mixture of confusion, fury and terror when he hears them talk about landing! Imagine the shock of going from one of the most intense feeling of awe and glee, to just as intense a feeling of stomach dropping, gut wrenching anxiety and horror, and anger it changed to with literally the speed of flipping a switch!
Lol I’ll bet his whole attitude would have been as different as possible if the first thing they saw on the ground from the plane, was a trex, or raptors, or something!

I honestly had a few nightmares about the Spinosaurus from this movie when I was a kid, but I still love it to this day. JP3 is still one of my favorites from the franchise, I even had a toy of the dinosaur for the longest time. The roar and the design from the movie all just made for a terrifying beast that, to me at least, has no equal.
I wish the Indominus Rex can fight the Spinosaurus.
Spinosaurus is my childhood trauma. I remember how much I was afraid of him that I had nightmares about him. still instills anxiety from one of his appearance, he's one of the best villains in Jurassic franchise

Apparently in the books, the Spino attack was provoked by the hunters. They killed one of the Spino's kids. In the movie, we just hear the gun shots of that murder. Spino was avenging its child throughout the movie.

We went from the majesty and horror of the original trilogy, to winking hybridraptors, human clones, Dino Avengers, and plots worthy of saturday morning cartoons.
Also, can we now admit the Spinosaurus intro was great?
As far as I can tell, hybrids have been a thing for much longer than the World movies, like, more than half of the time before World that JP existed as a franchise.
Just look at things like Chaos Effect.
It’s not the worst idea, but sadly it has led to some idiots actually thinking that such things existed (even when the movies clearly stated otherwise).
Human clones don’t seem far off either. I think the real problem is how it was approached in Fallen Kingdom. It was out of nowhere and not really explored after (aside from the retcon they did in dominion)

This scene is one of my most favourite parts in the whole franchise because of the majestic showing of the dinosaurs on the island and Alan being himself, to becoming intense with the Spinosaurus roar in the distance to the intensity of the cast being persuaded by the this fearsome beast

I just realize that they hurt the spino While trying to escape by crashing into it and that’s why it holds a grudge throughout the whole movie. That’s the reason for the blood splatter when they hit it. A animal behavior trait in hornets. You attack one and it will come back…it will also call his posey if you kill it by releasing pheromones upon death itself

I heard the hardest part was putting down the clones and convincing everybody they were anamatronics all along.

Jurassic Park 3 is my most loved film, because it had the Spinosaurus, and that's one of my all time favorites
One thing this movie never really explained was why the 20mm rifle with HE rounds supposedly did nothing against the Spinosaurus. Literally that thing would've ripped into the Spino. We either have to believe 1. He missed. 2. He was fighting something else/there was more than one. He's got blood on him when he runs out so clearly he was point blank with something.
He must have missed, I guess. But, yes, why even introduce the gun if they don't even show it in action?
Even if he misses, just show us.
He probably never had a chance. Imagine setting up a 20mm rifle to shoot when there's a mf spino in your face. The fact that he douple tapped twice tells me he lost the 20mm as soon as he encountered the Spino and just switched to a side arm.
Remember that's an animal that even though big he managed to sneak up on Grant and Ben. They probably didn't even see it until it was too late.
If the large predators actually behaved like animals, getting shot would be enough to dissuade them for pursuing. Predators generally don't like prey that fights back, and manages to injure them. A meal is not worth their life.
That's why T-Rex likely avoided going after triceratops or ankylosaurus.
There was a theory i like to believe which is he was fighting Spinosaurus and Raptors which would explain it
I'm inclined to believe he just missed. Based on Udesky claiming he wasn't even originally supposed to be there and was just the "merc booking agent," I always got the sense Nash and Cooper were also totally unprepared with what they would actually see on the island. We only see them shooting plane carcasses for target practice after all. Seeing a real moving and terrifying target with that unwieldy of a weapon is a totally different thing I would imagine.

When I was a kid I met a palaeontologist who gave me a Spinosaurus tooth (broken tip) I thought it was the coolest thing ever! Today I'm 30 and I still have it, in the safe at home:) I'm never going to grow up

What I like about this movie is one of the scores like the one playing in the part where the people in the plane flying into the island filled with dinosaurs was added to extend it on its own note of music, similar to the original of the first film where Alan and the gangs enter in a helipcopter to the island.
Also, the second thing is that I've been wondering how did they design the interior of the plane and why we haven't seen those every day or years in real-life? The seat facing forward position.
After Dominion JP3 is a masterpiece. The Jurassic Park Spinosaurus is a legendary movie monster.

Better than all 3 jw films combined. There's actual terror, grit, and violence. The animals act like animals and kill brutally in this one. In JW the raptors are like puppies.

I'm so glad that the Spinosaurus from Camp Cretaceous was confirmed by one of the show's creators to be the same one from Jurassic Park 3, meaning that the dinosaur is still alive in Jurassic Park canon. Oh, God, I love this dinosaur. 😍🦖💚

It's cool and all, but am I the only one who thinks that the words "a Spinosaurus" in the title imply there MIGHT have been more Spinosauruses? Not Baryonyxes or another creature from the spinosaur family, just the Spinosaurus?
