    Well done Jake , you managed to make 2 drafts in a row here without any Cooper's lol . At this point, I am nearly convinced I will recognize every name the Packers draft in rounds 1 to 7 and maybe even the majority of the UDFAs .

    Excellent drafts. One question, you don't seem too interested in the Melton/Phillips/Green/Jarrian Jones/Brownlee Jrs of the world? Your first draft pretty much matches my prediction 100%...brilliant minds and all that.😊 My fun draft has the Packers taking a big swing on Fautanu by trading up to #13 etc...Wahl's enthusiasm for that guy can be pretty contagious....

    • @JakeSchyvinckNFL
      @JakeSchyvinckNFL  Před 2 měsíci

      I think all of them can end up in GB, save for Renardo Green, who might be a bit too light for them at 186. If they look for slot CB depth Jarrian Jones and Melton should both be near the top of the list. Brownlee competes his tail off every rep.
      Fautanu is so good, I do enjoy Wahle's breakdowns.

  • @trevorhorneck3498
    @trevorhorneck3498 Před 2 měsíci

    I think getting safety so late isn’t the right move and getting one also isn’t the right move. Your backs ups would be AJJ who is fine, but then Anderson and sapp…. I’d like a hicks in the second pairing with an oladapo in the 5th or 6th. Hicks for the box and oladapo to fill in anywhere needed. Just my opinion.

    • @JakeSchyvinckNFL
      @JakeSchyvinckNFL  Před 2 měsíci

      Yeah two safeties is probably the move, if GB gets DeJean in the first I think it eases a bit of that concern, but a combo of Oladapo/Evan Williams would be very solid, as would getting Beau Brade, Malik Mustapha, and of the mid-late round guys.

  • @aaiirssjoy
    @aaiirssjoy Před 2 měsíci +1

    I like Arnold but I do also think it costs more than just a second to move up 9 spots in the first round. I remember we had to give up a second just to move up in the second round for Christian Watson. It would be something like a second AND a fourth or fifth unless a team gets desperate to trade back for less than ideal type of value just because they don’t like that spot around pick 15. But idk there’s a lot to like in that range so it seems kinda unlikely to drop down more than say 6-7 spots for a team.

    • @JakeSchyvinckNFL
      @JakeSchyvinckNFL  Před 2 měsíci +1

      The thing is it just depends on so many factors. Nine spots cost GB a 3rd and a 6th in 2018 and they got a seventh back. Seattle moving back to get a second when they don't have a lot of capital could make sense. They probably still land JPJ in that area.

    • @aaiirssjoy
      @aaiirssjoy Před 2 měsíci

      @@JakeSchyvinckNFL yeah makes sense there. Hopefully there just aren’t too many teams trying to outbid on teams who want capital. If I were Gute, I really like the value of trading up from the 3rd to the 2nd personally, or at least to the early 3rd. Lots of guys to like in that range where I’m sure there will be a few guys sliding that will be immediate contributors.

    I just don't see any reason for the Packers to trade back unless they are getting future draft picks or a player in return, I highly doubt the Packers are going to pick 11 players let alone more, we do not need that many bodies. We need targeted impact players, not more players to fill out the backend of the roster. Furthermore, they aren't going to pick Mims, he's too tall/heavy for their guidelines and he's a RT which we already have.

    • @JakeSchyvinckNFL
      @JakeSchyvinckNFL  Před 2 měsíci +1

      So the argument to move back from 25 is that 1) you've run out of first-round grades, 2) team X wants to move up for someone, and 3) you've got a group of players/single player that you know no one is targeting.
      If GB does this, I think they follow up by moving up from either 58 and/or 88/91 to get their guys on day two. I agree that they probably don't pick 11 times, but there are several different ways to get there.
      I don't believe I picked Mims anywhere. Furthermore, saying GB is set at tackle is complacency of the highest order at a crucial position.

  • @tort1305
    @tort1305 Před 2 měsíci +1

    So if you take a DL at 58, which current DL are you going to cut? U wish you mock guys actually paid attention to what's going on with the team. The Packers are going to a 4-3 defense and will often use just 2 LBs on the field.
    So currently, the Packers have SIX DLs including Clark, Wyatt, Slaton, Brooks, Wooden and Ford. The edge players are no longer LBs as they will be playing on the line with their hand in the dirt. For the math challenged, that makes TEN DL. The Packers will NOT carry 10 DL. So taken either a DL or edge in the first OR second round is STUPID. Especially when they could select Jayden Hicks at 58 and get the best box safety in the draft.
    I would also point out that the Packers have a MUCH GREATER NEED at IOL than tackle.

    • @JakeSchyvinckNFL
      @JakeSchyvinckNFL  Před 2 měsíci +1

      These comments are always funny to read, acting like we don't pay attention at all by explaining about a change to a 4-3 where Gary and LVN should thrive, when DEs have been playing 3-4 OLB for a while in GB.
      Because, if we're not "paying attention" as you say, did the Packers need Gary when they drafted him? How about Love? Van Ness? Or were those players BPA? The so-called "loaded" DL/DE room right now consists of three players who could be gone next year (Clark, Slaton, Ford) and another coming off an ACL tear in Enagbare. Does Brenton Cox still fit? Preston still has a couple years with the extension, but what if the fit is poor and his play drops off?
      There's no doubt GB has a need on the interior of the offensive line, and that was reflected in the mock drafts. It's funny because those who pay attention, as you say, would probably know that GB looks for tackle experience for a lot of their interior players. Puni fits the bill there, as does Barton, as does Fautanu, as does Glaze.
      Anyway though, I shall be interested in how you feel if one of Newton/Murphy/Latu is picked at 25.

    • @JakeSchyvinckNFL
      @JakeSchyvinckNFL  Před 2 měsíci +1

      It would be great to have Wilson/Colson at MIKE to free up Walker to run and chase. Drafting Cooper tells me that Walker likely plays MIKE, which I'm not too keen on at the moment.
      A Cedric Gray/Jaylan Ford pairing would be my preference right now, but I understand wanting one of the three you mentioned.

    • @GiuseppeJoseph
      @GiuseppeJoseph Před 2 měsíci

      I know Packers have the ammunition to move up in round 1 , but my preference is to use their draft ammo to get another pick or 2 in rounds 2 or 3, and/or to maneuver within those 2 rounds to target certain players. If you trade up in round 1, your risk "blowing" two picks in one shot if the player is a dud or even just average.

    • @JakeSchyvinckNFL
      @JakeSchyvinckNFL  Před 2 měsíci

      It's likely that McKinstry and Newton are available at 25. But, yes, if guys like DeJean, Arnold, Fautanu suit your fancy, it likely requires a trade up. Day two is loaded though, Packers can clean up there.

  • @raybrean9889
    @raybrean9889 Před 2 měsíci

    There obviously still could be some more free agent signings coming for the Packers, and Green Bay has 3 draft picks in the Top 64 to further help the cause. But 1 blockbuster trade with the Arizona Cardinals could be an absolute show-stealer that fixes big issues for the Packers. Xavier McKinney coming into the building for the Packers is a phenomenal 1st step to upgrade the safety room as the team moves on from Darnell Savage. But it also can’t be the only move that the Packers make. Right now, Xavier McKinney is set to start either 2023 7th-rounder Anthony Johnson Jr with a few other options in the building. So that’s why Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton proposed a trade for the Packers and the Cardinals that would send Budda Baker to Green Bay. Moton noted that a “modest market for safeties” could mean a late-round draft pick could entice the Cardinals to hit the reset button by trading the 28-year old. My gut, however, tells me it might take a bit more than that, especially with the Cardinals stockpiling draft capital of late and with Baker being voted as a Pro Bowler 5 consecutive times. Go Pack Go 💚💛

      @JakeSchyvinckNFL  Před 2 měsíci +2

      I like Budda Baker and the vision, but that's a lot of money to be spending at safety. Then there's the question of potentially extending him after the season or letting him walk.

    • @GiuseppeJoseph
      @GiuseppeJoseph Před 2 měsíci

      ummm your math is off. they have 3 picks in top 58 . And you have no understanding of the salary cap if you think they would pay Baker on top of already paying McKinney. That is a big thumbs down idea and what does Bleacher Report know ? They just need to write articles often without sound reasoning.

      @JakeSchyvinckNFL  Před 2 měsíci +2

      These comments are always my favorite, because as much as we speculate, we don't truly know who is BPA for Gute and company.
      Also, love the shout on focusing on premium positions and athleticism early. As I take a look here, CB, OT, and EDGE are premium positions haha, so good news there.
      As far as athleticism, McKinstry running 4.47 with a Jones fracture at 199 is a good start to him likely being an elite RAS athlete. Amegadjie has very very strong functional athleticism on film. Kneeland has a 9.04 RAS at DE, Gray 8.18 RAS, Puni 8.08 RAS.
      Other than all of this, sure, "no way lol"
