God damn it norco, stop making me want so many bikes.
Sorry, but N+1 is life!
@@NorcoBicyclesOfficial first the Shore, then the Optic and now this. I’m broke enough…
Upcoming field test is gonna be epic: this, new cannondale jekyll, nukeproof giga, transition spire, raaw madonna V2.2, kavenz vhp16... I think they should be compared to current specialized enduro. Please, Pinkbike
this new range definitely needs a comparison with the big-S enduro
you forgot the new YT Capra MK3
@@kijaron4320 Please, you can’t compare these Boutique Bikes with a Capra
Include the Forbidden Dreadnaught, please!!!!
@@MrMaxx._. what's wrong with the new Capra?
Kaz is rarely this impressed by a bike.... That's saying something about this one....
Kudos for Norco doing things every company should have been doing for decades.
Funny you say that because from what I've seen Norco have been building bikes that snap in half for decades.
Also forbidden has been doing this for years now.
@@jamiepickles5908 because the ex-norco head engineer works for forbidden
@@patrickjones2988 hello lady m8
@@OriginalAirsoftGasser ive also seen gt, trek, spot, giant, cotic, haro, yt, yeti, evil, so on. Ive seen all of those break countless times. Its not special to norco. By now norco will have stopped that happening. And yes they have. All of those brands have actually. All it takes is to update the design, and go to a different factory. Obviously that process takes every company years to perfect unless theyre former engineers from another brand. Thats why any brand that Alistair Beckett works for are stupidly reliable. If you watch vital raw of the norco team wrecking DHWC tracks on the Aurum and EWS courses on the range and XCO on the revolver you know thier bikes arent very delicate anymore
This is awkward... Forbidden's head designer used to work at Norco. Now Norco release a similar bike couple of months after the Forbidden Dreadnought. Pinkbike needs to settle this with a Head-to-Head Battle!
Only think similar between the Dreadnought and the Range is that they are high pivot bikes. Other than that, completely different. the Forbidden is single pivot which the Norco is horst link. Both have very different feels.
I’ve been waiting for this bike forever! I’d love to see it compared to the new specialized enduro
Me too. Wish it existed 18 months ago when I was looking to buy.
Due to bike shortages this bike SHOULD be available mid 2025.
Available at select shops in Canada and the USA right now!
@@NorcoBicyclesOfficial You guys are ON the ball!
Yeah, I saw a post from a local shop this morning saying they have em in stock !!
Just purchased this bike and put a day on it at Whistler. Feels better than my downhill bike on every trail. Confidence inspiring, planted, and pinned. Bike is amazing. Will be putting a dual crown on soon and replacing my downhill bike
The second I saw the high pivot, I was expecting a review like this. The bike looks amazing, and so different from other high pivot bikes. Great review Kaz!!
1:30 Mmm yes I can definitely feel the difference between 0,2 degrees
So good to hear Kaz excited about a dream bike. Looking forward to this field test.
it looks like a forbidden bike
Ordered my first mountain bike in years this week : Devinci Kobain 2022.
Can't wait to be able to afford a bike like this one!!!
The Kobain is a super impressive hardtail imo, you’ll be shredding that thing for a while. My first bike is/was a Specialized Rockhopper and I’ve abused that thing in attempts to keep up with my friends on enduro and trail bikes. After 3.5 years the poor thing really needs to be retired.
Started taking a look at Norco about 1 year ago. Since bought a Fluid HT. Every bike in their range is really nice and very modern.
This bike must be good. I've never seen Kazimer so excited about a new bike!
I have veered away from Norco for the past decade or so due to past issues I had with their frames. But always continued to watch them grow as a company as their a local brand for me. This bike may just be the one that gets me back on a Norco 🤔 Amazing job Norco Factory. Already got to check one out and it even nicer in person! #beauty
Looks like they nailed it, just like that lower link is gonna nail rocks.
Hey Kaz, when you do the timed testing, please compare it to last year's speed demon; the other North Shore bike's Co, the RM Altitude!
What are the trails pictured in most of of the POV riding? If they are trailforks let me know, if the are off map its ok to keep em quiet.
Looks great all though I would be super scared of smashing that lower link/chainstay sticking down so far below the bike.
I really want to hear more about that high pivot...
That is one BAD ASS machine. My god.
Is it me o the bike is very similar to the forbiden druid?
I just went to their website and they’re all backordered I would buy one today is available
The range is sick!
😍😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥
That lower link is veryyyyyyyy low. I'd be worried about bashing that constantly
Thats why it has a skid plate
@@dantindley5181 but you could still crack the link or bend the axle if you smash it into a rock..
@@ricodvorsky3844 it is more than likely reinforced with a thick axle to counteract. Just remember as well, under compressions big enough to cause significant damage, the suspension would be compressed quite a bit so itll be out of the way
Really close to the rear wheel though so maybe that helps limit the risk of hitting it.
If you look Lewis Buchanan’s suspension test video, the linkage doesn’t actually get closer to the ground.
...uhhh sick, exactly my taste... damn I´m hooked...
Wow that bike is crazy looking
Idler pully looks really close to that shifting cable....
Get AXS.
@@jamiepickles5908 got a GX Axs on my jib bike and a X01 axs on my revel rail. Just my aurum hsp that got mechanical shifting
Amazing bike 🔥
feel the same with enduro 29
Norco is crushing it these days..
This BIKE IS DOPE!
Any reviews for the uphill abilities pls?
Wonder when Santa Cruz will join the idler pulley movement.
Probably wont for awhile becuase so many people love the vpp suspension and how active it is
@@Cburns26 I hope you’re right. Seems like every company joins together and makes the same bike every year.
XRC 1501 Wheelset? Must be something wrong here? I thought that's the XC Wheelset of DT Swiss, should it not have the EXC 1501??
Probably the first
Norco ive liked usually a scott man but id have a go at this
i cant wait to get this bike
What a machine, there goes my kidney
What you have organs?
No joke if you are under 35 you can donate your nuts for a lot of money so you can buy the new Norco range

looks nice
Is that a new OneUp dropper post?
Looks exactly like a dradnought🤯
The all new forbidden dreadnought… i mean norco range. Nah this is a sick ass bike
Dreadnought is a fixed high pivot though
I still look at my old balfa bb7 and wonder why it's taken 18 years to catch up to what that machine could do
The best looking bike
I was wondering when someone was actually going to change the way your suspension works by extending the lower arm instead.
I'd love to know how this compares to the 2021 specialized enduro?
Same here! I have owned a 2020 and 21 enduro expert and this looks promising
Same here! Noticed a few comments saying the same and no reply????
High pivot with an idler pulley, and a shock pivot which rotates around the bottom bracket... hmm, where have I seen that before? Oh yeah, in the 2007 Corsair Maelstrom!
Pretty nice copy of my good ol' Antidote Darkmatter
That OneUp dropper looks different
Looks like a new Version
@@felixbruckner1622 Its just the 34.9 version, im pretty sure. So the collar seem very short compared to the narrower sizes.
3:48 that chain damage already 🤐
Im excited for bike companies to release a 50° HTA and a 250 mm front and rear travel with 32er wheels
Cool bike as usual! I just dont get why you need a 30 inch tall Tires.
Are those wheels dt swiss xrc 1501 cross country wheels on a enduro bike?
is there going to be a review on the new Jekyll ?
This thing looks bangin... Lets be honest though it the Druids cousin.
Same trasmission of brand new Devinci and Cannondale, coincidence?
to me this suspension looks like a inverted horst link suspension ... think of the seatstay as the chainstay of a horst link
that is exactly what it is!
Looks like a forbidden
Sounds like he likes the bike!
I love my 2020 Range A2. So wish I could afford the carbon…. So light
So.. the actual production bike comes with WAO Union rims with Onyx vesper hubs so.. theres that
Probably one of the best looking bike i have ever seen😍
Could you please compare the new Range vs the Nomad V5? Thanks.
I don't think they will, though it would interest me. Most likely the closest we will get is a Spec Enduro.
I like this guy.
Got me excited about it till I got to the pressfit BB....
Ive had good luck with pressfit. I'm 4 years on my gxp one. There pretty good now
Sold.
Wny does this look like the New Cannondale Jekyll? How do the Forbidden Druid, New Cannondale Jekyll and New Norco Range compare?
Seems like it's the year of high pivot. Forbidden was really ahead of the curve here.
This is more Dreadnought than Druid
@@petertyliszczak3411 Agree…seems like the new bikes are enduro race/bike park oriented…Druid is trail oriented. Interesting to see bigger manufacturers following and whether or not the trend will stick around?
@@kurtmaier6502 It's a decent trend, but this season I was shopping for a new bike and chose Druid over Dreadnought. The mountains I ride can easily justify the bigger bike, but my wallet cannot justify multiple bikes so I chose the one that makes the most sense as an all rounder rather than a race machine.
@@petertyliszczak3411 have/did you compare the Druid to Ripmo, SB130LR or other peers in class? Any comparisons?
How does it compare to the sb150?
Gorgeous
170mm on 29er is becoming the new hot super Enduro category. We got the transition spire, the nukeproof giga and this. I wonder how they all compare.
And the jekyll :)
This dude is in love! 💕 😘 Lol.
this bike is the son of chumba racing f5 and brooklyn machine works))
Does it replace the sight?
Nothing gonna replace the sight.
Mmm... that is a Forbidden Dreadnought!)
This vs Forbidden’s Dreadnought?
Anyone know when this bike is gonna be available in UK?
2030
Almost 1:1 copy of antidote darkmatter :D
I mean it's no grim donut, but it looks alright
yep, maybe better, but cost of framekit 3800 euros - its little bit too much
for that price i can buy new commencal meta am or propain or privateer, with pretty good complete for average rider.
No idea why they didn't do a mullet, some WC and EWS racers prefer the mullet setup.
The only bike I ever wanted as bad as this bike is the 2016 Demo 8...and I bought the Demo 8...
What about the new cannondale 😢😢
Looks like it's now, "Looks like a Demo/Specialized Enduro".
Banshee got it waaaay back
You mean a santa cruz
@@izakaman specialized fans cant admit they stole from their arch rival. just bring it up they will go oh yeah its totally similar to a stumpy or rocky mtn... nah bro thats a hightower stop kidding yourself.
I wasn't trying to say Specialized was first, it's just probably the most known brand.
@@Johannes__ I know they are in a lawsuit with stans flow for infringing on tech... but hey that’s totally different than a frame right.. that’s just one example though. Specialized rips people off and markets well it’s ok they have a cool s design you like it.
Why is no one mentioning the what looks like a OneUp v3 dropper post with an even lower stack height
Acc. to Kaz it's the V2, but in 34.9mm.
Canyon sender CFR + Forbidden Druid = Norco Range
I bet that's an absolute bus on a trail
Too bad it's for tall people and racers only :( Would have been a great upgrade from my 2016 Range C7.2
Super slack geometry
The best tire combo: the Ass Disector
9k ow no I'll pass
Looks like a Specialized Enduro that someone thought needed to be high pivot. They didn't appear to think about that bottom being a shovel. Looks like it would get mud stuck everywhere. The idler wheel area was already showing lots of wear from the '4 rides' Kaz said he did.
Gezus! My $4k, 170/160 aluminum enduro bike weighs 34 pounds. What's the benefit of carbon again?
Tunable ride quality.
@@scvkurt03 Go on… not sure what you mean.
@@11leonidas11 Tube shape, layup density, and layup type all contribute to how a frame feels while you're riding it. You may want it stiff as hell in some spots, but can go a little lighter in others. Norco says no alloy because they couldn't (yet?) achieve their goals for the Range with that material.
Its not the frame its the parts that make the weight. They picked a Carbon frame only to keep it at that weight
So most companies release their higher end models first in carbon. There are a few exceptions. I bought into the carbon hype a couple years ago. My newer, alloy bike is so much better. Much larger and weighs 1pound more. Won’t likely ever go carbon again. Especially for the price to weight ratio.
rebranded druid?
This bike looks great but 17kg for top spec is pretty heavy. These enduro style bikes are getting heavier.
Heavy tires and coil shock.
1
Omg I want it but it probably costs a arm and a leg... and your other arm and leg
Yooo
Year of the high pivot. Every manufacture will crap one of these out.
Yet another mtb fad 🥱
Made to throw over a tailgate. Total shuttle bunny bike
