- Been using this alot recently. A PS5 Cooling Fan. Looks great and as it is was part of the PS5.
Certainly pulls in the air and cools the PS5 down, but it is a bit noisier than the PS5 itself.

You can use air conditioner filters to put on it so that it won't suck any dust into it and just have to keep the dust that builds up on the filters that are made of foam air conditioner filters that would work great and I use them and I haven't had no problems with them.
I would like to see you do a temperature chest to see if this really works
I have this fan and it saved my ps5. No joke.
Its probably better to regularly use compressed air to blast into the internal heat sinks but this fan design mod isn't terrible
So you're going to take a console that you feel is at risk of overheating by essentially plugging a whole other electronic device into it that it needs to power which means it's going to be using more power which means it's going to be producing more heat only in hopes that this fan that the system is powering is going to attempt to cool it off though it needs to produce more power to run the fan which means it's going to produce more heat the only way that these cooling fans will truly work is if you plug them into an exterior Source you need to get a USB extender and plug it into a wall if not you're doing nothing but going in a continuous circle of a fan trying to cool down a system that's overheating itself more because it needs to power the fan that is essentially cooling the system

I have the one for Xbox series x and it definitely keeps it cool even with it plugged into the xbox
You don't need to plug it into the PS5 directly you can always use a USB extension and plug that into the wall or tv

Thanks for this video, I wasn't sure how to install/remove the ps5 plate, my brother just bought a brand new one for himself and I'm buying him this fan as a gift. I own the Xbox series x version so I know g story fans works great.

What important is your room temperature.. no use when room also hot. Same also if u just use regular fan towards the console..
If it came in other colors, I’d buy one in a heartbeat. I currently have red faceplates, and I don’t want to go back to having a white one, so that’s basically the only thing keeping me from getting it.
Also, it’s too bad they don’t make one for the other side if you want maximum cooling or have something else in the way on that particular side.

Ive been building pc s for over 30 years and G story could of made this an exhaust fan like on a pc and then it wont produce dust. But the only problem is that it would be the other ps5 plate, So you wont be able to lay the ps5 down.
So please explain what have a fan blowing on another fan
It make more sense putting that extra fan more near the ssd drive or the power supply. Which those are the actual two areas in which is why the ps5 shuts off on people out of no where because those two spots get too hot and they shut off the ps5. But not many people know that problem. I'm here to tell you because i own a ps5. I found these reasons why the ps5 shuts off outta no where. Other reason is there's too much dust or pet hair caked on the heat sinks clogging the air flow.
Buy a high rmp quiet PC usb fan. Cut hole in panel. Fasten to panel. Hide cord behind panel. Bring usb plugout by the console usb port and plug in. Done 25 bucks

Are the dbrand good? Bec now my ps5 turn off all the time and i search they said bec off the overheating so that dbrand is good?
I liove it wish it comes in othere colors tho. But what i did was paint mine black whit wrap paint black mat ore what ever color you need. But i regret not just taking the fan off the original G-storys and just not making a hole to match in a Darkplate i have 2 off insted. And just painting the fan incaseing. Ore ceep it white! It does look god in white. A little better in black i think. And this work. I use my ps5 in 120HZ games in 4k HDR and i dont get so many problems whit MW2 crashing ore stalling after a DMZ run. Almost non of them if i ceep it cool also in the room abot 20c and under 38% air moister. Over this i will also get the problems. in 30 c and 80% it overheats. The fan helps but
Does it have a filter? The only reason I don't use external fans are because they suck in more dust which can cause your consoles to break down over time. I'm a huge collector of all types of games and consoles, and the only systems I ever had breakdown were systems that used external fans. Upon inspection, they were five times more dusty inside than the same consoles with no external fan. Thanks!

mine came with a screen for the fan and a neat dust protector you actually put on the ps5 itself!

it pushes air in and raises the temperature.
I would install a noctua in mind but seems a lil stupid when a fan is already in the system. I think Sony knows what they are doing and prob dont need this. My main concern is that this fan might fight against the internal fan causing turbulance.
Sony fudged up this time, the ps 5 Cooling system is the worst since ps3.
They could’ve done better with the wire, was gna buy it till I see that 🤣
Hey i just found out you want the fan to blow out not in. So your experiment or showing of the paper sticking to the fan due to the suction is not what you want.

It will help your ps5 run better and not overheat if you are experiencing that. This will indirectly affect fps but it’s not the main reason of getting an fps increase
Might need this, my ps5 cassually turn off by itself playing nba2k23, maybe because it overheat?

@@mikenick1556 after i update to the latest firmware on ps5 it never turn off by itself now, do you installed the last update for ps5? If not try update your ps5 mate
@Mac Donald the update probably just turns off the safe operating temp switch, to keep it from shutting down to protect itself.
@@cdmc012599 recently i just opens my ps5, unscrew it and unclog it from dust that trapped inside it and now it seems fix the problem

Hubs dont work with external hard drives though. Ive tried.
So I bought a hub the has 7 ports. I have my external plugged into one of the front usb ports and the hub plugged into the other.
Using an external 5v dc adapter will not task the Ps5 power supply, thus helping to cool the unit with G-fan in place. Dust filters placed inside the fan housing will prevent it from pushing dust into heat sink over time.
Would it not make more sense for it to push air out of the PlayStation 5 fan area instead of sucking it in
Stand behind a fan and you’ll see how ineffective that is.
@@Hawkcam1996 There is no problem with doing that just that the upper part is designed to suck air in. I am not sure if this mod helps tho. Would need some actual testing for that.

@@mrpapua100 He’s talking about *pushing* air *out* of the PS5. That would mean standing *behind* a fan, since fans push *forward.*
No, because then the fans would be fighting each other, and that would be much less effective than just a single fan. PS5 has very specific airflow channels. Air comes in the side, goes out the back, and that's how the heat sinks are most effective.
Would it not be more effective if it pulled hot air out of the ps5 instead of blowing air in
Have both I bought that one to push air in then bought a set of 3 small fans that suck the hot air out

As an American that lived in the Uk, they hardly see hot temps like we do. I miss their summers. So a heat wave rocks that country

I can honestly say that this dont work. I have tested this with a thermal gun and it dont do anything. You are drawing power in the PS5 itself.. more power output the hotter it will be. It defeats its soul purpose

That’s weird I did the same test and it works but i bought a set of an extra 3 fans for the back that pull the hot air out as well

It might work I'm using a cooling fan as well as a regular fan regular fan in the back cooling fan on the side make sure the cold air goes inside 💠🤙😎🌡️ no more
