Been getting a lot of comments of people saying it's not working on Steamdeck.
Anyways, found a workaround! You need to follow one extra step which I will include in this comment and also in the video description.
On Steamdeck, add this to your launch options ➡ WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll,CloneEngine.asi,ColorExpansion.asi=n,b" %command%
I got the Avengers build to work and run but the addition modded characters aren’t coming up. Pressed down on bottom row and none come up. I coped all the files from the update. Did I miss something?

@@HAVENGERSyeah I’ve added the command which allows the tourney build to work but the additional character won’t show up. I copied and pasted all the files so I’m not sure what is going on.
Ok I got it. The command had typos and just went exactly how you have it in the description and it works now. Sorry to bother.

Never in my life that Marvel vs Capcom 3 modding scene would end up being the “melee” of the series. I expected to have at least bit of a niche audience with texture coloring and sound effects, but no… this is amazing.

The calikings mod pack comes with its own clone engine folder, characters ini, etc. Am I supposed to delete the tabs version first? Or copy and paste onto tabs pallete mod version?
This has all the palette swap character mods, tabs and calikingz included.
If you're using this version, delete all mods and start fresh to avoid any potential conflict.
Would someone ever do Imperion? Magneto as a base, the Electromagnetic Disruptor blow coming out of the eyes with fire effects would be a start.

Not with the built in online, no. I recommend using parsec. I have a tutorial on my channel ( a little outdated but should still work) on how to set it up to play with others!

You will have to learn how to add the character yourself then, I'd suggest checking out the modded marvel discord to learn how.

They're not in the game. There's no way to put them in them in.

The new update should be fixed for arcade mode compatibility now, all the files in the description should be using the new files

where to download the base game ( no patch)
So I've been looking around and it seems that with the Steam Deck, you can't select the modded characters at all, when you scroll down to select them it just behaves as it would in Vanilla and it shows back up, I tried to install the mod pack on my own Steam Deck and that's exactly what happened, any tips on how to fix that issue?
This is a tutorial for the PC version, not steamdeck. However, I got it to work on my steamdeck too with the instructions below, hopefully it works for you too.

Did the tourney build work? Cause it did with the commands like he wrote but it won’t allow me to select the extra characters. Like it half works lolol. Not sure what else needs to be done.
What’s the difference between the havengers build and the Community Edition test pack? Also can we have this upload/linked to the spreadsheet in the EX discord?
HAVENGERS version has more custom music, custom stages, more alternate costumes/colors, HAVENGERS ui, and also The Thing and Dan Hibiki.
It's also the version I use when streaming tournaments, so if you want to keep up to date with the competitive modded marvel scene, I constantly update it in my discord server whenever there's a new version!

The current banned characters are also on there (Captain Commando/DMC5 Vergil/Bishop) since they're getting reworks really soon!
@@HAVENGERS unfortunately the build itself isn’t. The discord is linked but all that’s missing is the build. Also I know it’s not your build but could you possibly ask them to link the Community Edition test pack as well as Moos CECPS
@@HAVENGERSdouble checked the spreadsheet in case I was mistaken. It indeed is not linked there for the build itself. It has the link to the Havengers twitch page but not the actual build anywhere.

Yes, it is currently up to date for competitive viability!
I also update with new tournament legal characters usually a day after they release.

You can by modding the character yourself. Not an easy task someone can do willy nilly.

Gneiss' clone engine is the mod that makes this possible.
I updated this build with tournament ready characters whenever they're released. This current version has all the way up to Jon Talbain and Shocker, the most recent tournament legal characters.

@@frankquinol Not often, it's whenever the mod creators are done with the characters and they're deemed balanced and polished enough to be tournament legal.
Rogue is indefinite hiatus status, as a lot of characters are since the modders do it on their free time/as a hobby, and all of the modders have their own personal lives too.
Funny how the thing that finally gets me to install this is a video tutorial telling to drag and drop LMAO sometimes that's all you need

@djdtor make sure you are NOT playing in full screen. You need borderless window gaming for this game. Ported marvel on PC for some reason is unoptimized at full screen.

There are no current plans to rework Urien. His files are extremely broken too and he would have to be redone from the ground up.
Currently no modder wants to take on this task.

Did you read the description/pinned comment? There's an extra step you have to do for Steamdeck.

Yes, delete everything in the UMvC3 directory and then go to steam, right click UMvC3, click Properties, Installed Files, and then Verify Integrity of game files

I did everything step by step, but I got an error message when I started the game. It says "Steam API is not initialized" No! I didn't get the game from Steam.
You need a legit copy of the game

If you want to play competitively, this is all the tournament legal stuff. It also has more characters than the Community Edition.
I have a question whenever I use Colossus my game crashes
If you are playing Arcade Mode, that is why.
Neither Hinata or Colossus are compatible with Arcade Mode. Keep in mind this pack is made with competitive viability, Arcade Mode is not a priority.

The build I have in the description was updated yesterday to include them!
Alternatively, I also just updated the description with a new link that contains only the new patches/characters without having to download the pack again. 😄

why does this mod have malmander's bison but not their Urien?
Urien in his current condition is considered too overpowered for Tournament Play so he's not in the build.

I would not recommend it though, I would recommend using parsec instead. It is substantially better than the built in online.

When you go to switch costumes in the character select screen, the game crashes. I'm not too sure whats going on, I'd appreciate any feedback👍
That's really weird and should not happen. Did you have any mods installed prior or did you install on a clean copy of UMvC3?

Arcade mode is currently not compatible with all characters or costumes unfortunately, most of them should work though!

Fantastic mod! But now after dl'ing updated mod I'm getting a multi colored screen with static before the Clone Engine screen appears. The game still works just super annoying can anyone help pls?
Steamdeck? It's a glitch with how it works
@@HAVENGERS it worked before with no multi colored static screen popping up whatsoever. I input launch command as well both times when installing but for some reason the above happens right after the "Marvel vs Capcom presents" (multi colored static screens looks like a 90s TV broadcast ending signal lol) then Clone Engine Screen. Still works tho and love playing this!
@willyjakkz yeah, it happens on steamdeck only since the mod removes the intro sequence. I'll include the opening movie once again in a future update.
@@HAVENGERS sounds good! If I knew which file the movie was in maybe adding or skipping when copying that particular file would make it run like before. Can't remember what I did but the static screen wasn't there when I 1st installed the mod then I installed it on a second steam deck and can't fix. Looking forward to your future mods and characters keep up the great work!!! Playing this on my arcade cabinet thru the steam deck wish I could post a pic!

Just the normal game itself? Or after installing the mod?
Make sure you're doing this on a clean unmodified version of the game. Also make sure it's a legit copy, mods are known to break on pirated copies of the game.
It's a modified version is there a way to get it back to the original version

Right click UMvC3 in steam ➡ Click on "Properties" ➡ Click on "Installed Files" ➡ Click on "Verify integrity of game files".
It should start "Verifying Integrity of files".
Once it's fully done, it'll redownload/install a clean copy.
After that, follow the instructions again in this video and you should be good if all works out.

More context needed. Are you trying it on a legit copy? Are you doing it on steamdeck?
I can't even boot up the game in full screen. Try to boot and I just get a small black box then it closes and this is before trying to install this mod
Full screen is not optimized for UMvC3 on the pc unfortunately.
You need a third party app called "Borderless Windowed Gaming" to force it into fullscreen.
