- Happy National Ceiling Fan Day! This year’s display is once again bigger than ever before; 35 fans technically on the display and 36 total demonstrated with the studio location. In addition, thanks to all the lighting improvements I’ve made to my display space since last year, everything looks better than it ever has before. It is really impressive to see how it’s progressed over just a few years. I’m more than thrilled to share it with you through video every year on this very special day.

P.S. a couple things for reference. The little surges and evident pulses created by changing other fans’ settings were wreaking havoc on the Inteli•Touch of the Spirit of Saturn in the corner. You’ll notice I had to sequence it all the way up for high speed despite it being on the correct settings previously. I also had to cut around a couple small things because I was out of time to redo anything else, after having to do a number of takes to get it right. Despite its simple outward appearance, this is a very difficult video to record because there are so many single take portions, so I hope you enjoy after the many recording frustrations that went into this!

I love how you have the modern fans in one section, and the older fans in another section. It really makes it look like a showroom, where the newer designs are together, and the older designs are together.

When I was growing up I remember going to Petersburg Virginia. We use to go downtown. We went in to this restaurant and it had like three ceiling fans ran by a motor mounted in the ceiling and a serpentine belt . The belt went from the motor around all three fans. That drew my attention. It was great. One motor ran all three fans.
This year's video was great. Bravo! I also look forward to the improvements to this wonderful shop in the future as well.

I just can’t imagine this guy’s energy bills
They really only ever get run like this once a year for this video, but even then, ceiling fans are very energy-efficient products and most of my lighting is LED, so overall it doesn't really add up to much.

Seeing the Mayfair gave me an idea! What if you did a section in the future where you had only fans from the garage video (Emperor, 1896 art Nouveau, St. Claire, Banana fan, etc), assuming you still have them?
That's a fun idea. Will put that away as another section theme someday.
Hey Cole. Toby here! I paused the video at 1:29 and am looking at that Hunter Mayfair we were talking about the other day. That sure is a good looking fan! Looks a little bit like my parents' fan in their bedroom. It's the same color, but theirs is a Passport II with no light.

By the way, I noticed around at 17:20, the Spirit of Saturn fan slowed down a lot more while you were setting the fans from medium to high, did that happen automatically or something?

19:38 that ceiling fan on the right side, why was it going so slow not fast?
That's what palm blades do with a traditional AC ceiling fan motor. They're wide and the design creates a lot of drag, so the fan is slowed immensely. They're more for looks, less for function.
My school is building a basically classrooms Office and they have a Big a## fans in the white colour with no light I don’t know how they have this much money for high-quality fans
How is Mykonos pronouned? Is it (mee-kən-ohs) or (mī-koh-nohs)?
I’ve heard both. When I researched, the first seemed most commonly and properly accepted through multiple dialects, so it’s what I used. I always double check pronunciations like that because I get peeved by comments picking that stuff apart.

@@jeffbrochstein5191 Mostly collector/hobby, that's what I originated as and always will be. These days I also create some social media content/features/promotion for a dozen or so manufacturers, occasionally attend/cover industry market events, contribute to some lighting/fan industry associations and nonprofits. Kind of an overall expert on the current market with a lot of historical and technical knowledge to back it up. Companies started noticing what I was doing and wanted to collaborate, so it's grown from there. I don't actually do anything in direct sales for anyone, but definitely promotion and marketing, brand awareness, etc.
Ok so I’m obsessed with fans and when I was like 5 we moved and I got to choose the room I wanted. I chose one of the smallest rooms because it had a ceiling fan in it. I hate my past self
