This display is a full time job, and in this video I start to reach the end of my enthusiasm with changes. 😅 My own fault since I strayed from the original layout and ended up making a few substitutions that didn't quite fit the intended locations. I started out this year talking about how much extra time I had because I got such a head start, but really it's coming down to the wire because I've gotta get the actual NCFD video done as well. So much to do, always so little time.

Kuzco Coronado 60" smart ceiling fan in matte black. This fan was featured in my most-recent Product Spotlight, so be sure to check out that video if you haven't already. This fan is a very impressive early showing from Kuzco. Great quality and design as I'd expect to see, but the performance is also really standout. You'll notice a very strong "clunk" upon startup. The torque behind this motor...

This video is sponsored by Kuzco. Perhaps a brand you were previously unfamiliar with, Kuzco has been creating quality lighting designs for nearly 20 years. With the advent of LED technologies, they quickly elevated as a leader in the space and became one of my favorite lighting brands, producing award-winning cutting-edge designs that have pushed the limits of what lighting can be. NuTone Hacienda Ceiling Fan
zhlédnutí 1,8KPřed měsícem
NuTone Hacienda 52" ceiling fan in antique brass. This is another fan that I found in the trash during Cleanup Week 2024; one of the early finds that really set the year off strong. Overall I'd say it's in pretty good shape, and cleaned up well. It seems like NuTone's finishes of this period really only hold up well if they're in the absolute most optimal indoor conditions. This one seems to ha...
SMC Laguna Ceiling Fan | Repaired/Added Parts Remake

SMC Laguna 36" ceiling fan in brown/polished brass. I've been meaning to get back to this fan for a very long time. After the original video, I really wasn't sure what to do with it. It appears to have been NIB before I got it, so it was in mostly good shape, but the switch housing was shattered off of the shaft coupling and of course the original slide-up canopy was missing. It's sat around as...

Turn off the Century 52" tripod ceiling fan in gloss black/polished brass. Another that I found in the trash during Cleanup Week 2024. Not entirely sure if these had a proper model name or not, even in advertisements Menards always just used descriptors for this era of TOC fans. I'd seen these before and recall their general existence at Menards and in their adverts, but also knew a couple of s...

Caribbean Electric 52" ceiling fan in antique brass. Not a lot of indication with this one; only sticker says "Manufactured By Caribbean Electric Inc.", model C-528. I hadn't even applied power before assembling it all together, o...

Emerson Designer 52" ceiling fan in chesterfield brown. This is another fan that I found in the trash during Cleanup Week 2024. Very similar to my NIB one, reversible with wood blades, but this one is KB55 and I do believe my other is standard K55. Was super excited about this one. It was all nicely disassembled and all of the parts down to the mounting hardware were present. That's always grea...

Hunter Cambridge II 52" ceiling fan in satin white. The first of many great trash finds from Cleanup Week 2024. This fan would have used a newer generation remote control system, but of course no remote was present, so I reverted it back to this older system. I had a spare receiver on hand that won't shut the light off, so it worked perfectly for this one that had no light. Eventually I may try...

I've been doing this for 15 years. Thank you.
I picked up this model this evening for $10.00. Quiet, and runs great so far. Powerful. Pretty clean, but I'll give it a better clean soon.
Nice one! Nearly identical both in terms of cosmetic and mechanical condition compared to your other one. These K63 versions pack some serious power. I am correct?
Also I'm curious, do you have plans to take the Kichler Yur off the display?
K63 at full potential is definitely a force to be reckoned with. I have no plans to change the Yur unless I have something feasible to replace it with, or revise use of the entire area. Those perimeter things near the walls don't tend to change as often because fans that small are not major categories for any brand, so it's essentially impossible to get new pieces all the time.
Nice!
Oh so powerful.
I have one of these. I didn't even know about Robbins & Myers until I took the fan down and saw their sticker on the top cover of the fan. I thought it was having issues with the motor shaft turning, while the blades didn't. I discovered the "disc" the blades attach to is secured to the motor shaft with a set screw, which appears to have backed off. I'm hoping that's the extent of the fan's problem. I'm not wild about the globe, which looks really dated in later model homes, but I can see w/ the proper setting/decor, it'd fit right in. BTW, these appear to be built like tanks. the upper and lower covers are a thick metal, as well as the extension tube, and it hangs on a hook with a rubber isolation grommet. I don't see this in newer built ceiling fans.
Sounds like the flywheel probably failed. I had to replace it on this one a few years back. Sometimes you can get it to hold again if it's not completely broken off, but often the central shaft portion will crack so the set screw can't really hold securely on the shaft anymore. Replacement flywheels are available on eBay based on the existing flywheel's part number, if you end up needing one. These are pretty good, but were introduced as a "budget" model alternative to the cast iron Original fans. By today's standards they are tanks, but it's just funny they were the cheap models at the time.
i remember watching this when i was rly young lol
Iwould consider this homestead
Can you put a saturn light kit on this?
No, the "switch housing" is not standard size and only accepts the Venus light.
I remember seeing these at a restaurant in Northern Virginia. Most of them didn't have their pull chains. Only one 52" and one 36" one had their chains intact. They also had the faux woodgrain blades.
Hey i might sound crazy but what if you installed a Casablanca New Orleans in the corner?
It's definitely on the list of plausible items for that corner and will probably be seen eventually.
I love it
That is powerful on high
Also one of my favorite all time fans. This particular version me and Dan call a Rick blender. Rick youtube.com/@ricksterthefanman?si=roZ2HPZzMZVEpr62 loves this variation. A three blade K63 we now call a Dan and Pete blender. K55 three blade we call church blenders.
This thing is an absolute hauler!
Great fan
Wow, Cool! Can't wait to see the second one!
Thank you!!
NCFD
😐
Just found one of these in an old house, and it was caked in cigarette tar, hair, and dust. I broke it all the way down, cleaned, and lubed it, and it is very impressive how powerful this lil guy is
I love this fan, and now that you said the flaws about bowl light kits, I'm not a big fan of them so much nowadays, at least the ones on pull chain fans.
Image high in 2times speed I tried that it was fast
Amazing!
I think my only gripe with these is the remotes. I think they’re a bit clunky for the price point, but I’m sure over time they’ll be improved. That’s how I felt in January when we were able to actually USE their fans on the display. I enjoy the return to six blades as well, nice to see another addition.
These remotes are a vast improvement over the initial product launch that just used the same basic one everybody has used. I will take any level of diversification and customization beyond printing the logo on those basic remotes. Agreed, though, I think it will all streamline over time especially if they bring in a wall option (which I think they do need). It's going to be hard for anybody to beat Hinkley HIRO for me, that entire system is so smart and good.
Ah yes, it is here. Wonderful video!
I love how you started with the type 52 and the old filter and song
This fan kind of reminds me of the Emerson Petal Ceiling Fan.
That's been a common sentiment. Definitely similar vibes.
For some reason though, I thought these did beep whenever a button was pressed in the remote. Plenty of air movement happening at such a low noise level is genuinely impressive. Unrelated question: Are those two Originals on the display going to stay the same or are they getting replaced with something else for this year's NCFD?
Yeah the airflow is crazy for how quiet it is. I believe at least some of the samples at Lightovation beeped, I think I posted a story with Hugo starting up that had a beep. But I can't find anything about audio feedback for this model now. There is some hinting in the next vlog about that area of the display, and actually some other adjacent rearranging. In the end the silver Original will still be on display to hold oil bath representation, but there will be reformatting of the entire section.
That's exciting! I'll look forward to that.
Clarification: I believe the silver Original has been in place since 2021. Is it typical for new products to be displayed three consecutive years? (The Morpheus is certainly an exception in this case.)
Display of new products depends. For awhile the focus was maintaining brand presence regardless of time, which is why the Morpheus lasted so long because I used all my other MF products up until the Aura in-application. But now I work with more brands than I can really display at once, so I lean toward using as many of the latest products I've received as I can. In this case, the silver Original is holding it down for oil bath, but that fan is also particularly special to me in what it represented, kind of being a full circle moment in what I get to do. It's one that I just enjoy having up. I also don't really want to have to box it up again, given the oil bath aspect, so who knows how long it'll be up for. Everything has its own particular reasoning.
That completely makes sense. I really totally went into a horrendous mindset of looking at it. Now that I think about it, the silver Original has a place to hold. I am really looking forward to see the completion of the display.
Is theres any Kuzco fan using a chain? im curious…
Kuzco just launched a new selection of more builder-oriented models that have pull chain options: kuzcolighting.com/product/eriksoncf78752-nlp/
Whats “Kuzco”?
Kuzco is the company that manufactures this product.
@@vfandm Oh cool never heard of it untill now!
Do you still have this fan?
when you figure out how to install huggers on your display this is one that I would like to see up.
Coronado. That's the model name of a popular semi-truck tractor. The Freightliner Coronado. Coincidence! 😂
Now WHY is the ceiling fan industry throwing off the emperor’s groove?
I was waiting for the inevitable reference.
@@vfandm well I guess you got your wish lol
Kuzco definitely has some good performing beasts
I saw three of these in a bowling alley
I am glad to come across this discussion. I have one as well and for at least 20 years. The motor is doing exactly what the CNCdoctor experienced. My first thought was to re-oil, it started squeaking on startup. I also did not know the fan had value. I only got online to possibly buy another one if my fan did finally gave out. We are having 100 degree temps and the floor fan brings in the night cool air. We love it! Thanks to all.
Remember watching this as a child. How nostalgic
I thought it was a 2 speed fan. Very nice fan by the way.
I wonder what their erikson pullchain builder fan has to offer. I wonder if it’s better than other builders of today?
Curious to see the price points on it. Thought it was an interesting choice to bring in that selection now. Nothing against the strategy they think is right, I'm just finding all the different directions slightly disorienting.
Wow! I've been waiting for this moment for so long! Kuzco has finally given its grand entry into Vintage Fans & More. Coronado is the perfect one, combining great style and amazing performance. Will this one be up on the display? because I would certainly love something different like this being showcased.
On display soon. This is what I needed to make sure would fit in place of the Icebreaker.
Yay, finally!!
In ur opinion, what fan or brand has the quietest motors and quiet in general?
Most of the DC selection now is doing pretty good, I wouldn't say there's any one that's best. For AC, I've been impressed with recent Quorum/Oxygen. I think Fanimation has still been decent there, too. Hinkley was pretty good in the one AC I've worked with, but that's really carryover from Regency and they always seemed to be kind of hit or miss. Hunter can still be good, but often hit or miss.
36 degree blade pitch with some upward angle at the tips! i bet the breeze from this thing can be felt at any point in a room it's installed in
What is the best ceiling fan brand?
Loaded question. Depends on a variety of factors, and for me, also largely depends on if we're talking a specific era.
❤❤❤
