MASUTANGU IS DONE! At least for now... In this video, I tackle ALL of the finishing touches to get the car road worthy again, then we DRIVE IT! I'm so pleased with the turnout, I hope you are, too!
"Masutangu" is my 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe that I body-swapped onto a turbocharged 1996 Honda Civic chassis. It's the world's first front wheel drive, Honda-powered classic Mustang. Watch the entire build on my channel!
I love you all! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I wonder if Tom already knows that Donut Media featured his Mustang in a video. Very cool to see that
Yep
That's pretty cool I didnt know that! I need to check that out. It's crazy how he combined my 2 favorite cars an em1 and a fastback 👌
That’s what I was thinking
What donut video?
I like Turtles 😁
Tom and the cameraman are lovers? I knew exhaust pipe wasn't the only thing getting stretched in that garage.
xD
😂😂😂
💀
he goes 4 inches and pulls the string... Ahhh push it
@@nunyabizniss4087 3 3/4 inch
Since the trans is toast it may be time to throw in a crv trans and convert it to awd
AWD would be insanely awesome 👍🤞
My thoughts exactly
Not that simple. Thats a lot of time parts and fab work. Would be sweet though
07-11 crv rear diff or use element.
Definetly possible. There are ton of awd swapped civics out there and you can get kits that have everything you need to use crv parts. Can't be as difficult as putting a Honda chassis under a mustang body.
Tom should make merch with the saying, “guesstimated calculations”
Coming soon 😈
Definitely!!!!!!!!!!
If you sit there and worry and brain bust, you will never get things finished!!! You can polish and polish until you think your doing it in your sleep but that paint can't get any smoother than it already is!!! Just appreciate your masterpiece!!! Everyone has different tastes!!!😂😂😂
And "Cardboard Aided Design"
@@TOMSREFURBif the engine blows, throw a 800hp AWD k series in there and pist the haters off
I saw this car go from a random stupid idea born off a whim and required way too much time and effort to an actual passion project, and tbh I’m all for it. It’s been a wild ride and I’m glad Masutangu is in the place its in now
Im 15, building my first car with my dad. 1952 pontiac chieftain on a 6.0 powerstroke chassis. This car definitely was an inspiration for my build.
That’s awesome, you got no clue how lucky you are to be in a family that supports your passions like that!
Time to go back to the mustang show and get some fresh reactions and negative opinions which no one needed. love the work man
" The Spirit of Hot Rodding " on the Light bezel is a beautiful touch, Chief's kiss.
My most favorite car build of any channel on CZcams... This car is the epitome of a garage built hot-rod. With a 'Sports Injected' burst of controversy... I love it.
Amen 👍
If Tom doesn’t make this AWD at some point I’m gonna riot
Or 1 wheel drive? More Tom's style😂
then he cant do burnouts
@@highschoolrebuilds3972if it isn't LSD then it's already 1 wheel drive
@Slabman710 Cyclone Donuts... The most epic form of burnout.
Really hope this goes AWD next. There's some great kits out there now. Also, spray paint a border around the outside of the windscreen and it'll hide the sealant
The crackhead on the bridge was just the chefs kiss to an already great day!
Tom, use smooth string next time you install a window. That's why you had all the issues with the twine braking. It's called heavy kite string.
running a light amount of soap along the string works too
Always pull the string parallel or close to parallel with the glass.
I use weed whacker line to install my glass works like a charm.
As an old Jeep owner the comment " I can't hear the road behind me" has me dying. Absolutely hilarious but true in beaters and project cars
'...theres definitely a little gap there but that's just because I'm stupid...' I've said that a few times but to hear someone else say it. Priceless.
As a windshield installer I can tell you that you did a good job, but having the right tools for a gasket set job makes it 20x faster
Got to meet Tom in person the other day. He’s a super nice genuine guy
Came for the cars, stayed for the comedy. Brilliant.
i found your channel from an instagram clip of the system in the donk, and im pretty sure ive watched every one of your videos start to finish about 4 times now. you got me working on my projects again and i cant thank you enough.
3:56 I knew it. Congratulations
Love the whole concept of Masutangu and this series!
Chib Fooze did a pretty cool job building that stang
Ive never been a purist. I love when people get creative with their builds. This is the spirit of hot rodding.
Dude...that car is too cool. True spirit of hot rodding.
Honestly i think some modified OEM taillights would look great!
the car looks insanely good, great job.
Absolutely wicked to see how far this project has came, driving wknd flips is one thing but cutting your hands, burning your hair, staying up late to finish something with your friends is a whole other type of feeling once you go for a cruise. Cool shit Tom 👌🏼🫡
Just had a very funny mental image of Tom driving Masutangu, with a cardboard screen and two eye-holes cut out in it, lookin like a big ol' fast spooky ghost car ridin' around.
The “buckle up. I’m gonna try something” bumper sticker on your cabinet is superb.
If you paint the perimeter of the Lexan, like a 1”-2” border on the edges, looks 100x better. Awesome work 👍
Might be the bestest build on CZcams, certainly the most fun❤
I have been here since 10k subs. You are awesome and deserve all of your success. Keep making these videos and you will keep going up and up.
Personally in my opinion you should take that right front fender and sand it down then make a spray bottle of vinegar water. Spray the fender down so it will rust and have patina to match the rest of the car. You have done a fine job with that rat rod keep it going!
This is honestly my favorite youtube build
So glad you buttoned up that rear end. Finishing touches we never knew we needed. Well done sir
I would like to personally thank Tom and his editing team for leaving the metal chopsaw and angle grinder audio at full volume. In fact, I hope they boost the volume to be even louder than normal in the next one, so that my ears may be blessed with the high-pitched screech of progress.
I don't think that car could look any better.. you did an awesome job tom cant wait to see what you get into next man..
Always good to watch Tom’s refurb
I always paint the inside of the window with a black trim around the outer edges, and a band across the top before installing in my race cars. Cleans it up nicely.
Tom hard at work providing good Saturday morning content.
At least in my part of the world.
I can't wait for a follow up mustang event video.
I'm expecting a revised fuel filler in the future.
As well as a replacement/rebuilt or upgraded gearbox and some sort of new mount.
Been watching this build for a while now. I saw this video pop up in feed and I got so excited to see what happened next. Your work is absolutely amazing Tom! At this point I would say you ARE a factory XD
Hey Tom, Love the content! I have put in car glass in using the string method and the trick to it is spraying a bottle of soapy water onto the areas that you are pulling and it allows the window to pull into place using the string.
Love your work!! This car is EPIC!! You should find a cool pad lock for the trunk instead of the hitch pin. Gives you security. 😂❤
The trunk is so cool. Good job man.
You gotta be one of the best Automotive CZcamsrs. Keep it up man. Super cool car!!
Wasn't big on the roof scoops when your first did them... but now with the spoiler and everything it just ties together the janky look! great job man
i respect this kid so much! and mad props on this build. it's slick af.
You should put the exhaust tips out where the reverse lights are
That car is so freaking sick! And the fact that you built it as well makes it even cooler like you get to say “I built that car.” How cool is that?
On a order note tom spends time on a project puts his heart and soul in to it just to break it and laugh about it it is the best car content on CZcams by far and it's funny 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I rarely watch videos that long in one go. Great work!
Seeing your joy in this video was pretty dope, mate. Excellent work. Be proud :D
Cover the opening with cardboard then trace it from the inside. Then take tape that is half inch or three quarter and run it along the trace line to add that edge needed for the window to set in since tracing it and cutting it would make it fall through the opening because its exact. Once you add the tape you can trace the outside edge of the tape and you have a perfect template to work off of!!! Hope that helps someone some day!!
I say considering you’ll barely open the trunk instead of a pin get a bronze combo lock to keep it closed, just to match the vibe of the car haha
I saw the string, I was like nooooo, it's gonna snap. We used to use thin cable and dish soap. Done in a couple of mins 😂
Dig your enthusiasm though👍
I think it's fun how that spoiler looks a little bit like the Dashboard.
That duck tail is super dope, ngl
I honestly love the longform content from you guys so funny keep it up
Dude this is fantastic. Can't wait till I get my shop up and running and can start doing builds like this
I literally catch these within 15 minutes cuz I’m obsessed with masutangu
NEW TOMS REFURB VIDEO LETS GOOOOO LOVE YOU BRO KEEP DOING YOUR THING!
Turning out Sweet bud! It would look a little better if you put a Tape edge around outside of Window were the black weather striping would be and paint it black to cover screws and back side of glue… Something to think about! Love what you’re doing the Channel is Great! Need more!
In the future, just use a good painters tape, lay it across the entire windshield into the area you want (be sure to overlap it and add vertical pieces) trim edges with a razor, then peel it up as one piece and lay that over the media that you will cut. Makes it accurate and clean.
This whole build is just the right amount of pain and joy
When cutting bolts, screw a nut on first then thread off over the end cut. Aligns the threads so a nut will go on easier.
just got off work and see a 55 min toms refurb vid life couldn’t be better
The "Oh no, root beer, no" part got me
LOL, great video!! Had me and my old man dying 🤣 subd
Its a little late now but dawn dish soap works wonders with those glass rubbers. With plastic pry tools ... And wd40& a gatar string with 2 sticks to remove um with help from a friend. Its the easiest way to remove um and save those rubbers. ...
Gonna need some great wallpaper pictures of the Stang.
Nice watching your entire journey on this car 🤙🏼🤙🏼 keep up the good work✌🏻
Been binge watching this build, Nice WORK! Next time paracord for the window install instead of that cheap twine. Remember,,,, NO RULES!!!
Hey Tom.
For future glass installs that have the same style seal..try a thin length of wire, or braided steel cable.
I've done it with airplane throttle cable, both to cut out the old, and install the new.
I installed a couple windshields back in the day with my dad (he's a panel beater) and looks about right, except for the screws lmao well done
"Why is there a mark at 3 and qwarter inches " bro now im wearing my drink😂😂
im restoring a 1965 ford mustang convertible. deluxe pony interior and only 5100 made was in a barn fire runs good for the carb melting inside the engine and yeah we didnt take out the engine or take it apart at most the valve covers probably lol.
1:52 - 1:58 10/10 Couldn't of done that any better!
Next time I'm sure you will use a stronger string, but soapy water or windex helps a lot too.
I can’t believe I used 55 minutes of my precious life………..to watch amazing content and knee slap laugh around my living room! Always great stuff, dawg
I used a jigsaw with good results for cutting plexiglass.
Gotta race masutangu against noise complaint now lol, love the vids Tom
Holy shit! An hour?! This is going to be epic!!!
I swear if you smoking a blunt or joint while watching broski man .. he's a chill ass dude .. fixing on his own shit .. 😎
Everything is actually coming together really well. 47:39
I love your content so much! gives me inspiration to put the time into my 78 Z28 for the summer.
I’ve been watching this one from the start, crazy to see what it’s turned into! Only thing I’d say could use a change would be the rims, even a cheap diamond racing wheel would pull it all together a bit better in my opinion. None the less, keep up the good work man. Ill forever keep coming back.
It’s crazy how god turned water to wine and Tom’s refurb can turn cardboard to metal… has anyone seen Tom and god in the same room 🤔
Tom I’m loving the content and the cars lately keep it going hope you do a vette or something next!!
absolutely the coolest build on youtube in my opinion
50:05 .....man..there is no way that is not hand
Totally respect for what these hands going thru so we get this content ❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love how he yells at his camera man " stop zooming in" ah ha ha...hilarious
Hey tom when filling it up at the pump just turn the nozzle all the way till the gun is facing upward it looks super awkward BUT that should allow more gas to flow in easily into the tank. I have to fill up my vette this way
Let's go!!! Wish you VTEC swap a FULL SIZED 2023 Silverado 3500HD next IF possible!! 2 VTEC engines in it for a V8Tec Engine, and with TURBOS, too!!!!
love your channel and im glad to see your project is going well. showing love from chicago!!!
Liked the video before I even got through the starter ads. Tom NEVER disappoints
Car is definitely a vibe love watching these builds
So cool, this is the spirit of hot rodding!
Only thing avout the windshield... After all the trimming and right before you glued it down, I would have traced and made a template for the future. That way if you break this, its easy to make another... just gotta adjust for the gap on the one side ;)
I love Tom’s sense of humor 😂 keep it up brother you make this channel so much fun to watch an make you laugh 😂🤙🏼
love the progress, started with you on this car now to see it this far is surely amazing. im sure you feel great in this machine keep up the work look forward to seeing more videos of a honda mustang lol
rain guards for the windows, make sure slit for notch does not leak water into trunk. and you might have a car that can drive in the rain without flooding the inside
I think he needs a drain hole somewhere below that notch to avoid rot. Had the issue myself with leaking side markers. Ate thru the floor over time.
