    105 amp breaker.. holy shit! I’ve never seen anything past 50. That’s a beast.

    • @MattcoMetalWorks
      @MattcoMetalWorks  Před rokem

      Yes sir 100 breaker is what’s required for our new dynasty 300 also. You can run it on a 50 amp breaker if it’s 3 phase but single phase is 100amp. The high frequency TIG is what pulls the amps

      Thank you we appreciate you following along, hopefully we'll be in a larger shop very soon. We've been busting at the seams for too long now.

    I'm sold on Hypertherm too. Great machines and customer service. Ellis saws are a great product too. 1800 saw in my shop. Late 90's machine on my second gear box.

      @MattcoMetalWorks  Před rokem +1

      Yes sir that’s all we use. I’m sure there’s some good machines out there but hypertherm can’t be beat in our opinion.

      Yes sir thank you very much. We have taken baby steps from a small 1 car garage to where we are and of course we’re busting at the seams. It doesn’t happen over night. Good things that last take time to build.

    Do you have/use oxy acetylene torches for anything or does the plasma cutter handle everything you would use them for? Im trying to decide which i should start with.

    Hello. Great video!!! I love the layout of your shop. I was wondering if you could tell me the model of that baileigh roll bender. I’m on the fence about getting one just like it… also, what is your Recomendation on it?

    • @MattcoMetalWorks
      @MattcoMetalWorks  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes sir that is the Baileigh R-M55H which has the hydraulic down ram. The R-M55 is the manual model which is about $5000 cheaper but the extra cost will pay for itself in no time.

    Hi there, excellent video first off. Gotta say it’s always humbling to hear about business backstories that started from basic equipment. I’m currently in the same boat and expanding my business. Quick question about the Ellis 2000 as I’ve only ever used coolant type saws before. How long of a lifespan are you getting on a blade? I personally like the idea of not having to clean up coolant before welding and not having to deal with stains and cleanup in the floor. Thank!

    • @MattcoMetalWorks
      @MattcoMetalWorks  Před 2 lety

      That’s Aweosme to hear.
      Yes we love our Ellis. We’ve used a couple different blades over the years to see what works better and what last longer. We haven’t noticed any huge differences to be honest. It is our most used piece of equipment on a daily basis and most of the time we can get about 4-6 weeks out of a blade. We just did a massive stainless job and cut a bunch of 2x2 x1/4 SS so of course that kills it a-little sooner but still lasted a while

    Great video! It's nice to see how you have everything set up. I took my welding business full time about 8 months ago & it's been going way better than expected. Do you recommend building up your cash reserves before you start investing in more equipment or do you recommend doing a little of both? Keep up the great videos

    • @MattcoMetalWorks
      @MattcoMetalWorks  Před 2 lety

      So you absolutely need cash reserves. Especially when you hire employees. You don’t EVER EVER Want to be without enough for payroll. No matter what the cash flow is always pay your crew. With that being said it definitely won’t hurt to have some cash in the bank before you starting putting back in the business. That will show the bank your making money and also know how to handle your money. Those things are important as you start to grow. Banks will want to see business plans and financial statements. Having a good relationship with your local bank is crucial also. I just literally spent 20 mins in the bank talking to my business banker about anything and everything. I try to do that at least once a month or so.

    Thx for the tour. I am currently working on some metal stairs and the first video of yours I've seen was about the stringers. That video helped me out so much. How did you get layout for the clips? And how much $ did take for the 6x12 table?

    • @MattcoMetalWorks
      @MattcoMetalWorks  Před 2 lety

      So we usually have engineered plans from our customers. We take that and make our layout. I have currently been using a large framing square to do my layouts but I’m researching some quicker methods. Some people use plasma tables etc. but they have longer than 10’ tables in order to do that. I won’t lie it took me a while but once again I’m 100% self taught on stringers. I may have said a few bad words as I was learning because it can be frustrating.

    • @MattcoMetalWorks
      @MattcoMetalWorks  Před 2 lety

      If I had to guess that table cost $1500 roughly to build. That would be more now because that top was about $1000 then and that was 5 years ago. It would be way more now. But it’s one of those things that is worth every penny. We can’t do without a good table

    5 jeez for a Toyota forklift that year and hours!? That’s a smoke show of a deal! I picked up an ‘08 Toyota 17,000 pounder WITH cascade front end hydraulic fork positioners that open to 8 feet wide! People still don’t believe what I paid for it. I like upsetting people so I’ll tell you all, $18,000. That will NEVER happen again! 💪🏽😂 yes! YES!!! envy me!

    • @MattcoMetalWorks
      @MattcoMetalWorks  Před 2 lety

      Yea I may have paid 6k but still a great deal. I’m searching for one alittle now to see what’s out there. You have a massive lift that might be what I want. I’d like to have one that will lift a shipping container. Thanks for watching

    I also own a welding/fabrication buisness, and over the past 3 years have experienced steady growth. Like you, I have managed to reinvest into my buisness and remain debt free. I am in the market to purchase a cnc plasma table. Being such a large purchase, and not know how quickly I will be able get a return on my investment. Do you recommend financing, or paying cash?

    • @MattcoMetalWorks
      @MattcoMetalWorks  Před 2 lety

      That’s awesome to hear. Reinvesting is key to growth. Sucks to do but you have to sacrifice to make it all work.
      As far as the table goes that all depends on your current situation. If you have zero cash but think you can make it work and build the business up to pay for it then I wouldn’t be scared to finance it at all. 90% of the time I at least put a hood down payment on something. That goes for equipment, trucks etc. but every business is different so you really have to look at where your at and where your wanting to go. That’s the key. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask more questions
