Making a Tassel From Fringe

Since I published The Burlesque Handbook several years ago, many students have asked me to do a demo video of the tassel-making technique I describe in it. This is the technique I developed for making tassels out of the fringe on my gogo costumes, so they would be an exact match. You can use any length of chainette fringe, and make the loop the length you prefer, but for pasties for tassel twirling, 2-4 inch tassels are usually optimal. This tassel will have rhinestones glued around the top. I noticed that what I was thinking of as the top of the tassel, where the binding and the loop are, is in the bottom of the video orientation, so I hope that’s not too confusing! There are other ways to make tassels, but this is the one my students have asked about, and this is for them.
