This is not a ReShade preset. It uses the game's own textures.
The Mod consists in a folder called "data" you have to copy inside Documents\My Games\Starfield and a StarfieldCustom.ini file you have to create, then copy and paste this info inside:
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

fStarfieldBackgroundScale=35.0
fStarfieldStarBrightnessScale=10.0
fStarfieldStarCoordScale=10.0

Where are the GAme Pass version??
Sorry game pass on PC
@@dloc2907it works for the game pass version too
From the comments of the Mod:
This was the fix for me (running Game Pass / Xbox Games version):
Place all the loose files into your users "My Games \ Starfield" folder as the mod requires
(i.e. \User\Documents\My Games\Starfield)
However, when the instructions say to create a new StarfieldCustom.ini file inside the Starfield folder, don't. I was unable to get this to work. Instead head to the game folder (default is C:\Xbox Games\Starfield\Content). Inside there open up the Starfield.ini file. You will see an [Archive] section with a lot of info under it. Hit enter on the line below the [Archive] heading, and place the invalidate line from the instructions like so:
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
Leave everything else alone, and save the file.
This worked like a charm for me. Hope this helps. :)
Edit: uploaded before/after images for reference that it worked for me.
That was quick! Very nice sir. Thank you! 👍🏼
Wow, I can see now that it was a huge difference after you turned off that green filter. Thanks for the video. I have the game pass version and I will try this mod out on my pc 👍
For the Gamepass version, there are specific directions on the Mod page to get it to work. Check it out
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Ty, I will 🙂
The no color filters before and after is mindblowing! Good you found it and got help from the community to get it to work!
Tasty watermelon btw!
I ate the whole thing
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 That is a bit risky because, I know it can cause bloating and even diarrhea eating too much.
Not at all, I can eat watermelons and any fruits until I'm completely full and I never have any digestive issues, all the opposite. I don't eat oil, sugar, salt, animal products, proces foods. I only take vitamin b12. I've been doing it for over 5 years.
Glad I could help man, cheers!
Thank you!
It is frustrating that someone have to fix their mess everytime. People already dont have much free Time in life to play and we have to deal with this shit. Modders should get paid to do a better job then them. Thank you again for your time and dedication to find way to fix as you say it rolling your R. Crrrrrraap🎉
Totally agree
when u showed it actually working i felt robbed after 40 hrs on starfield no mods. completely and better looking game by far.
I'm hoping they release a performance update soon. Word is they are working on a patch for official release in a few days. Thanks for the hard work!
Thanks for your help, too!
This is Bathesda, Fallout 4 still runs poorly in the city
Where did you hear this? - What sources?
I love your settings. I couldn't get blue light killer to work. Blue, red and green was already at 0 and didn't change anything when I tried this method. Maybe it's not a popular opinion, but I also liked how the game looks with colour temperature set to 0, but warm 50 is probably more correct.
Starfield HDR is 💀. Can’t wait to try this out 😁
Native HDR Mod Settings fine tune by me with Lilium shaders coming next
At this point I have seen 5 mods that can improve the gameplay so much.
I think you will start to go down the nexusmod rabbit hole and show us all the good mods.
It's definitely a rabbit hole
Thanks a lot!!!!!!!
Amazing work as always! can i ask when i try the sdr/hdr trick should i use from game optimiser the "fps preset" with black and white stabiliser 10, colour depth 50 or should i use the "standard preset" and colour depth 55? (i have an Lg C2), in case i dont want to use the black frame insertion
FPS color depth 50 is more saturated than Standard color depth 55. If you're not using the Sharpness under clarity, I'd say Standard 55 if you don't want to saturate the colors more
thank you! i always used the standard but i will give a try at the fps too @@plasmatvforgaming9648
love your information in your videos.... i found you 3 days ago and i already watched 7 Videos :D what is you latest recommendation for other games then starfield for good blacks and colours? still luminiel?
I use these SDR HDR trick I shared here for games that don't support Native HDR or Auto HDR or for very bad HDR games.
Or I most of the time use this SDR HDR trick with Dynamic tone Mapping for OLED Motion Pro
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 okay thank you :)
We really need this. The game looks absolutely hideous. I never saw a game at this price range with such an incompetent colour work.
Works with the newest patch too, thanks! Reshade has been crashing since the Nvidia 151 update in Starfield for me.
You can force AutoHDR
czcams.com/video/INLr8hCgP20/video.html
Or you can download a dedicated HDR mode done later by Lilium, Pumbo and more
From nexus Mod
gotta love the eaten watermelon in the background😆
😆
You wanna hear another joke. The ship UI and reticle is locked at 30fps so you need a mod to make it hit your fps....
I noticed that too, and it was driving me crazy, I was checking the refresh rate on my display settings, and I thought it was messed up
YUP, there is a 120FPS mod for that, he will be so busy making so many video's to fix so many crap.
This isn’t just a Starfield thing, lots of games have been doing this lately. Diablo 4 is another one that has weird colorings and HDR issues. I’m on Series S/X and I just shut HDR off. I actually greatly prefer my games with HDR off anyways.
It's better to fix the HDR because it would look better than SDR. Use the TV settings and lower the black level to fix games like Diablo
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 tried going through all of those steps. I love HDR for movies and TV shows, and my TV is calibrated. Its the same result on three different TVs and my gaming monitor. The auto-HDR implementation is botched. Not only is it elevating black levels, but it appears to be doing something to detail. Seems I get better detail in SDR.
I found this mod is called "native HDR" and it lets you use native HDR signal and lets you use liliums HDR tools to do inverse tone mapping, the black floor fix and the analisys tools and im using it in combiantion with this mod you are showing, the only thing is does take a while to figure out the values for it to be 0 nits and then fix the peak brigthness
I'm working on that right now
@@plasmatvforgaming9648you are a workingmachine! I wish you would have a G3 so your recommendations would be even more specific to my TV
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Can't wait for the vid since I am struggling to find the right settings in Reshade for the native HDR mod. Just been rocking with Special K HDR for now.
@@plasmatvforgaming9648I'm looking forward to see that video, would love to play this game in native hdr if that makes it look even better.
@@plasmatvforgaming9648can’t wait to see how you get with that one. This is game is really upsetting my OLED display
the intro chuckle :D
I always try to laugh before hitting record to put myself into the mental state I like to have to do the videos. I learned that while being a classical guitarist, all good artists do that (not laughing, but something specific to get into a specific mental state.
I didn't like this game that much at first. These color filters and the average performance really bothered me. But after installing the No Color Filter Mod and the DLSS Mod with Frame Generation and an FOV Mod...... I really, really like the game now. I use the sdr-hdr trick dynamic t-mapping on bfi on high 400 max cll on the tv (LG CX) and 77 on the windows slider. tv is calibrated for these settings. In the game everything is set to Ultra DLSS at 65% (2k upscaling QualityMode) and I get 120 fps constantly no matter where you are in the game. The game now feels buttery smooth, looks fantastic and the battles are really fun. PS: I have a system with a 4090 and a 13900kf. everyone who has a 4000er card get this frame generation it gives u such a powerful fps boost its a must. Do not set the low latency mode in the nvidia control panel to ultra (preferably off) do not activate gsync and set vsync ON and OFF in the game. Then you just have to set your fps limit in the config of the dlss fg mod or in RTSS. my cx has 120 hz so I set 120. The whole thing only works if you can keep the 120 fps constant. If not, the TV can also run with BFI high at 100 or 60 Hz. The mod I use is the free one on nexxus without reshade. have fun
It's great to hear that. Thanks for sharing
Nice work everyone lol
Are you still recommending doing HLG HDR on SDR games for LGC1 btw? I only have windows 10. I also don't wanna get burn in, lol
Sorry for dumb questions, just trying to catch up on your whole channel
I strongly recommend you update to Win11 just because of the HDR calibration app that works for all Auto HDR supported games, which is a lot, and it looks fantastic sometimes, and it's fixable when it doesn't.
I no longer use HLG because this SDR HDR trick looks better
Great find! Will try it out.
Really don’t like the blacklevel in this game, what to dark in some areas igen with lightsources. Could it be that Bethesda went for an scientific color filter due to how different atmopheres filters the light? Only explanaition I can think off. But even if that is the case they should have given us sliders to be able to change filters and gamma to our preferences.
This was just a terrible creative decision
But what if that's how they intended the game to look? I'm currently on Mars and yes it has a rather unpleasant orange/red tinge... But it's Mars. It's SUPPOSED to be that way? I worry if this will just make areas of the game and planetary environments look unnatural or less spooky. What do others think?
I think that it looks very ugly all the time and I couldn't care less if that was their intention. Try this Mod and then go to Mars to compare
I don’t see how making black black instead of shit green look less scary. If you’ve ever seen a horror movie they use black to hide the monster not green
volumetric lighting to low and shadows to high-medium boosts fps by a tonn without big graphics changes
Thanks for sharing, I'll definitely try it
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 if you want more in depth settings this guy made a great analysis on the performance and visual impact of each one but volumetric lighting and shadows are the most impactful czcams.com/video/rMIXWdmdUYY/video.html
👍😋
Hi!! Does you're color settings is also good for the c2 with gsync on? Thanks!
No, for Gsync (no BFI) HDR, use this czcams.com/video/R6ugaHiJYP0/video.html
You will lose all the atmosphere in neon town without those filters though.
What black level on c1 you recommend with filters? I find 30 is optimal.
When you remove the color filters the black level is fixed plus I'm using Lilium's HDR black flor fix to ensure that. So default black level on TV 50 FTDA 0
I think Bethesda did it on purpose and not a design choice. Make it look fugly and so when the next version comes out it looks better. Or looks better on another console
So they decided not to release it looking good so they could sell it again in the future without the messed-up colors 😄. Your guess is as good as mine
It's called leaving a room for improvement. 😂😂😂 It's where innovation comes in next time 😂😂😂 It's how they make money 🤣🤣🤣
I'm using the dlss mod. How did you do the upscaling from 1080p to 4k? I can't see any options to do so after opening the program with the end button.
Change it in Game at the top of the settings there's a % slider
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 okay, so it's the fsr slider? I had that on 75% of 4k resolution.
At this point I think bethesda is like " modder will fix it anyway so who cares haha they do it till years for skyrim"
They should do that before releasing the game and pay the moders
You should be the last checking instance before a Game gets released
Just tell them to send me the check and I'll work on it 😁
Do you by chance know how to do this for gamepass? I can't seem to find the right folder

Also try out the mod "native hdr" with this mod the hdr becomes incredible!
I'm working on it right now
@@plasmatvforgaming9648awesome! I tried both Lilium and advanced auto HDR, I think advanced auto HDR gives a better result
We can stop him from uninstalling the game after all haha.
Does the TV save these settings for just this game all do you need to change settings for each game?
The TV will keep these settings on Game Optimizer mode until I change the HDMI input or change it. I use these settings all the time. But I do have a lot of practice changing settings and it's something I enjoy
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 you would think TV manufacturers would implement profiles that you can create and save.
That's the picture modes, I'm using one of them, Game Optimizer, I'd like to have multiple Game Optimizer modes
I know why developers made this decision. They are all about realism. As far as I know you are always wearing your space suit in this game. Even in bathroom. And maybe the glass on the helmet is made of recycled beer glass. And we all know it's green...
😆
Yeah, I also wondered why it’s looks so terrible. I redurce black leben on hdmi settings to get better results. I need an XSX LG C1 solution. Thanks ! 🤝🏼👍🏼🍻 Good taste on your Watermelon 🍉 😂👍🏼
I'll delete all the Mods, reinstall the game and try my best with TV settings
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 It looks like the PC and XSX have different Gamma. I did see some videos on YT where are other Blacklevels there. U can search for: Starfield PC vs Xbox Series X
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 look at this Video, it’s shows Starfield 2022 does not messed up with this filter. It’s insane what they decide in 2023 version !! czcams.com/video/tUOpo00KECE/video.html
There is a clear trend of raised blacks. Like the devs think it's in fashion or something.
This poor guy, he’s going to be up 24/7 for weeks testing fixes and making videos about it
Week 3: Fix #168: How to get more than 60FPS in star field 😂
😆
They use different LUT for different areas to tune the look since it seems they downgraded their lighting from 2022 trailer and have no true atmospheric scattering/other effects to change the color of the environment. With neutral LUT mod and HDR ReShade it looks very close to Cyberpunk without RT so it still looks good.
Algoritmos 😊😊😊😊😊
"Fix" banding by setting grain to 1.00 in display settings. No need for mods.
Thanks for sharing
It has Green filter cuz its UE5 Matrix Demo lol
At least the demo had the option to turn it off
It's very strange that somebody decided that a green filter was a good idea. I can't understand why anyone would do that when it looked so good before the filter came on.
I guess we are screwed if we use the game pass version ?

lots of games do shit like this
You a game is shit when it doesn't come with a brightness slider.
Hilarious that Bethesda / MS released the game with the filters as the default , and no way to disable
Definitely intentional and borderline malicious
Weird how MS’s internal teams keep having these self inflected wounds (by “newly acquired” dev teams)
Totally bizarre
Maybe they have a spy working on the game and maliciously do this who knows.

@@plasmatvforgaming9648 I’ve tried everything it’s ridiculous the only thing that made it not look like a xbox 360 game, was turn the blach stablizer down to 3 and turn the HDR to on instead of HoHC or what ever it’s called. I have a bloody LG C2 and bought the series X last month to play Diablo 4 and Starfield and never seen a “next gen console” which has old setting and set ups setting the graphical fidelity by messing about withe TV setting is insane. I noticed the loading times are alot longer on Xbox and most of the games looked washed out and the games have locked 30fps or no HDR and not a single game has graphical fidelity. Games like Demon Souls, Returnal, Ratchet and clank even astro play room these games are nearly 3 years old and leave their modern games in the dust nevermind Horizon FW with individual moving hairs on Aloy and NPCs or last gen Ghosts of Tushima with moving grass or bushes walking or running through them. My previous education with technology and computers I suspect the Xbox articecture has issues with bottleknecking that why the system locks up if you are doing 2 tasks at once plus the slower loading times or new games being locked to 30fps or no HDR or both. I’ve put 45 hrs into Starfield and there no legitimate answer or reason why the game is 30fps has a broken HDR and washed out graphics it looks and plays like last gen fallout 4. This video about the modder says it all they stuck a bloody green filter over everything it’s terrible. I think there was a patch about 3 days ago as the game crashed and HDR started working.
I edited my reply as English is my 2nd spoken and written language and noticed the Iphone had butches most words with auto texts.
I can't understand how this happened
what did you expect. its another Bethesda garbage game that the moders will fix.
