Highlights of a brief visit whilst changing trains. Featuring all the normal stock at Preston plus a newly in traffic Northern 195 DMU and TPE 397s on test.
Great video. Love the good old 37's (English Electric Type 3's built between 1960 and 1965). They might not be clean or green but they still get the job done, how many of the new types will will match their nearly 60 years service? I don't know the exact figures but of the 309 built the best information I can find is there are estimated to be 72 left either in use on main lines, heritage lines, in preservation or awaiting preservation. If anyone has more info I'd love to know.
Spent many an hour waiting for trains on windy platforms in Preston Station. No better I see. Great video, thanks for uploading.
This was only my second time on the platform at Preston. The first was in May 1973. I have passed through many times in the intervening years.
@@BoogiesTrains Don't suppose it'll have changed much since then.
Great Video, nice to see you up north again look forward to more on ECML.
Great video!
Another excellent video, well done 😃 🏍️

They look really smart. A step change from the 350s.
Very interesting! I'm going to try and get to Preston in my travels from next week, but first stop: London, Saturday afternoon! 😁
Might also be some new 331s at Preston now
Those 397s really look great!!
Ikr first time on service 👏
