  • Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Preston on the West Coast Main Line where services are seen by Northern, Virgin Trains and Transpennine Express.
Preston was a brilliant station to film at with a variety of traction here pretty much throughout. The station is notorious for having a fantastic view out towards the South and has one of the most incredible canopies going over the entire station. Preston saw a bit of a different service pattern due to engineering works at London Euston but still provided the same level of frequency throughout. The weather was stunning and the trains looked great in the good weather, I was very impressed with this station and will look to come back, absolutely brilliant visit!

Awesome Video Bud :) I wonder if 185127 had a problem with its horn like 158955 had iirc.

Good video. The Windermere branch branches off at Oxenholme lake district station.

The name is The Lakes Line or something like that and it branches of at Oxenholme Lake District

That was one hell of a railtour that passed through, I wouldn't have the patience to sit in one place from Carlisle to Eastleigh

The Windermere branch branches off at Oxenholme Lake District Station, can get services to Kendal too from there but I believe its a highly irregular service but I could be wrong so don't quote me on that

I'm unsure about the frequency at Kendal but yes it does branch off from there. 😊

@@KTVTransport 😂now I see it... I don't know why i couldn't. These videos really do help me with Train Sim, because you just get to the point. I try to make the most realistic as possible scenarios. I am currently making Brighton to London Bridge, then after Bedford to Brighton full run (no part 1 or 2 it is a route merge with Blackfriars, and Farringdon. Only problem is if Train Sim releases the 700 anytime soon then I will have to make the scenario all over again. Also have to upload scenarios on a 3rd party website, since I use 3rd party maps, and 3rd party trains such as Class 387 (Gatwick Express), and other trains like the Class 378 for the new 'Aventra' livery, and the Southeastern Class 376. I am seriously struggling with scenarios because I need a deal on the Class 455/8. I hate Dovetail has increased a couple of routes and train sim itself from £25 to £35.
