I show how to measure string action and lower string on my acousting guitar #yamaha #fs800 in this video. You can use a file or sandpaper to remove the excess saddle.
Please notice that low E string height shown in the video is comfortable for me. You should adjust your string action in your own way depending on your style, attack and individual preferences.
Do not worry if you failed. Just replace the saddle with the new one. They are cheap.
