Nobody else was charged a "head tax" because of their race. Starving yourself and attempting to hold Canadians hostage is when they've no right to be here. @@madhukarmurthi9064 The reason foreign students have to pay 2-3 times more is because you're taking at least one person's seat who wants to go to that school from Canada. On top of that they generally come with an education that isn't as good as ours in the first place which makes the teachers have to work harder to get foreign students caught up with everyone else.

This should be a violation of their visas. Committing any illegal acts while on a temporary visa means immediate deportation. What is wrong with the government? If they want to starve themselves, that's their business.

They knew that these student visas were for being a student at a school in Canada. They thought they could get around the rules & be allowed to stay. Sorry they need to go back where they're from & be banned from coming to Canada for a few years. They can protest these things in their own country. Always apply for residency legally. Non citizens on student visa and are graduates and who's student visa's are now set to expire have no right to demand permanent citizenship.
right study visas are under the non immigration category; all applicants know this when they apply

My 2 cents, I'm an Indian-Canadian, my parents brought us here 40 years ago when it was harder to get in. I think we have far too much immigration which caused rents and house prices to skyrocket and created more competition for jobs...if it was a gradual process, maybe it might've been ok but I have zero sympathy for the newcomers as I am unable to afford a house now...and have to pay crazy high rents in crappy places. If we send the excess people back maybe it'll be affordable again.
The upside of the immigration is that labor is dirt cheap tho

This is the "climate" problem. They get more back than they pay. Breathing and farting from millions is wrecking the ozone, creating acid rain and contributing to wildfires. What was "promised" is one thing, but the terms foreign student and temporary worker has a timeframe. Overextending a welcome should never be a taxpayers burden. Most Canadians can't afford college and university for their own children. Our own children at the moment and possibly the future cannot afford housing and food or yet find a starting job. It's a no brainer, take the education home and apply it. Use it for goodness and prosperity. Canadians are finding that luxury lost.
