Nnamdi Kanu Pleads Not Guilty To Seven Count Charge Amidst Tight Security

- Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has pleaded not guilty to the seven-count amended charge preferred against him by the Federal Government.
Mr. Kanu, who appeared before the trial Justice Binta Nyako, said he was innocent of all the allegations leveled against him by the federal government after the charge was read to him in the open court.
Minutes after the charges were read, counsel to Mr. Kanu moved an application for him to be transferred to Kuje correctional centre.

These many adjournments when the defendant is still locked up in jail. I am beginning to wonder about the adequacy of counsel for this accused. Can they not appeal the adjournment order and move this case to the appellate court level. The state appears ready to keep adjoining the matter and the the defense continues to be political instead of legal. The presumption that injustice will occur in a court of law without pushing the limit is a bad state of mind for a legal counsel and an evidence of inadequate assistance of counsel which is trumped by the need to play to an impotent gallery.
