In this video I'll be showing you the technique I used to big chop my hair a 2nd time. To make a long story short, my hair was damaged. After having my son, I completely disregarded all the good hair care practices I had become familiar with. I colored my hair and didn't moisturize properly. I straightened my hair frequently with extremely high heat, much higher than the heat level I used in my hair straightening tutorial. I had to choose whether I wanted to transition from my damaged hair or say farewell. I chose to take the plunge and do a big chop. And now we're here!

I used your straw technique last week to do my big chop, cutting off about 9 inches of hair. It worked wonderfully! People keep asking how I was able to cut my own hair so well and I tell them about your video. Thanks so much for posting this!

You are very wise, talented and gifted my young daughter. This is what I did back in the day to learn about my own individual hair type. I read and experimented with products, until I found what worked for my hair type. I took daily vitamins as well as hair vitamins, and I tried to eat healthy. I stuck with the regiment, my hair grew and was healthy. Thanks for all of the wonderful videos you have shared. I'm so happy your back! I remember watching you a while back and you were doing the flat twist and you really inspire me to go natural and I also follow you on Instagram. My hair has grew a lot more than it did when I was putting heat in it.
I think you should style it in Bantu knots

Thanks for subbing! The last time I flat ironed my hair was December 2015. I'm almost terrified to use heat on my hair. I might go another 12 months before I straighten again.
