Kiara Nicole it's unnecessary pain, whereas if it's damp it's so much easier to manage and you'll see a huge difference between detangling while dry and detangling while wet. Try watching some natural hair CZcams videos. Hope this explains a little. 😊
not only is it painful when you try to detangle your hair while its wet, but you're also literally pulling your hair out and stripping your ends.

Omg love it yass same thing that happen to me i had to cut my dead straight perm ends off and i was so embarrassed of showing my hair off i would braid it all the time and little did i know my hair greww so much just braid and let your hair grow and do its own thang and u will see a difference 😍😍❤
Nellie Robert you should have cut it in a super cute tapers cut til you got use to the length. But please do finger waves with loads of foam and gel lol I think you really love that look on yourself.
Yeah, when it's really short, you can't do much. 😭 When I big chopped back in May of 17', I had to braids, Bantu knots or twists (twists were the worst smh, it took forever). If you want, try some hair vitamins and growth oils. Your hair will grow in no time. ❤

Yes girl those ends needed to go ! Also try adding olive oil to your hair while wet so you can comb through it, I used it when I first went natural it made the process go quicker. You look so cute!

I did a big chip last year now when I straighten it it's to my shoulders I'm glad I did it I'm not gonna lie it's kinda hard when u feel like it's not growing or your bored with it but it gets better. Personally I'm gonna cut it again because I haven't took the best care of it the last couple months but it's a weird yet cool journey

try keeping them in braids (box braids or crochet) while the roots grow in and then when you're ready, snip off the ends.

Don’t detangle your hair dry add water and start from the ends to the roots it’ll help with breakage
It’s so satisfying seeing someone cut off those relaxed ends lol I did my big chop last June my hair already grew back to the length I cut it! I love protective styles for that reason my hair grows so quick when braided up

The comb goes through my hair much easier than my relaxed hair, too. My relaxed hair is so dry, tangle-prone, and lifeless, so...I'm going natural! Chopping it off in 2 days :-) so excited. We have the exact same curl pattern, and I'm liking how your hair looks after the chop 😍

That's actually a hair myth. Your hair definitely will look healthier and grow out healthier, but trimming it regularly will not guarantee rapid hair growth.
Chika Anene Not a myth for me. I've experienced this first hand. My hair grows quicker since I started cutting it.
Jennifer Noyola I was told if you dont add heat you will rarely need to trim it. Maybe once or twice per year. I trimmed once last year, due another one soon!

I am transitioning too and was hoping to find someone that was transitioning and ready to chop it off cause I am so close to doing it right before the New Year! Transitioning takes longer I feel. Also the 2 different textures is frustrating and I definitely cannot love my hair the way I want to right now. You most certainly inspired me. My ends are so dead and have no life at all. It’s always a good idea to either oil or condition hair before brushing or combing through them, especially if you have curly hair.
