I used to live in SC so all these scenes are familiar. Wow the Capitola wharf got worked over. It looks like all the railing was destroyed at the end of it where the waves were hitting. That's going to be no small repair job.

I moved here in 80' and have been through several severe storms and a pretty bad earthquake, but this is the most devastation I have seen.I walked my dogs down at seacliff state.park this morning it it was really bad.
1:25 That's high..wow.. I go to Santa Cruz once a year so that's bad, is the gaming centure ok? 2:15 wow! Thanks for uploading! From 150ish miles away! +new sub!
It was a crazy day for Santa Cruz. The boardwalk did survive 🤘. Capitola wharf did not. Lots of damage on west cliff and Rio Del Mar as well. Thanks for subscribing 😎🤘
This is just like the early 80s when those little pastel beach rentals were under water. Capitola has to bring in hundreds of tons of sand every year to rebuild the beach. Soquel Creek runs right through the middle blowing out the beach.

Absolutely nuts... especially if you know where the waterline normally is 😵💫
I know right! So crazy to see the power of the ocean.
So many items not prepared for a winter storm. This isn’t the first and it won’t be the last. Looks like pier inspections were not done.
Thank you for documenting this!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Absolutely love this. Not the flooding. The fact that you didnt use a robo voice narrative!!!!
Thanks, I figured it might be nice to just see the raw clips with raw weather power.
Wow I've lived here all my life and have never seen it get like this before. Are they letting folks from over the hill in?
We never let them in... they just show up

Born and raised in Santa Cruz but moved away many years ago.....love seeing all my old hangouts.
Epic spot to be raised! The hangouts may have taken on some water recently… they’ll be back though. The Santa Cruz community is strong 💪.
Hopefully this will make half population in Cali move to Tornadoville,OK
Be safe. First hurricane Ian in south Florida, this in California..what next?
We never get anything like this it was crazy
Water is flooding over where they have the free concerts.
Hey maybe you can check out Davenport and Bonnie Doon...
Just seeing this. I totally should of… I bet it was chaos up there.
@@the_colbs I bet...this is crazy. I lived here my whole life never seen it this bad..ever
I have been hearing that from others too. This is a wild time! Looks like there is more rain on the way too 😱… hope your spot is all good 🤙.

The next Wharf to Wharf will produce water from the eyes.
It will be a sad one for sure :/
Why isn't anyone out there surfing that shit?
@meaner. Cuz it's shit
There were a couple people surfing slop yesterday.
Why didn't you.
A lot of really large trees and other debris and probably outflow from the water reclamation facility near Cowells.
That's capitola not Santa Cruz but whatever
its BOTH
They are referring to the county

There reason I moved from Santa Cruz county

Does it have anything whatsoever to do with rain in California? No? Then no. I won’t be checking out your video Grom.
