I still have a '79 F150 with 460/C6 automatic trans. Has over 300,000 miles. Never recalled, never rebuilt engine or trans. doesn't even burn oil. 100% built in US. It may not be fancy, but it has endured 42 years of lousy Idaho weather. It may be low tech, but I can still depend on it...

5:00 - It should be noted that the new Ford Ranger and the previous generation Ranger are 100% different vehicles. The old Ranger ended production in 2011, while a different pickup that carried the Ranger name was sold outside the US. The new Ranger is an updated version of that internationally sold one. It's too new to make a decision on its merits, yet. But by 2023/24, we (the buying public) should have some well fleshed-out performance and reliability data to go off of.

No, tundra is very deadly, the dull interior can lead to explosions if you reroute the fuel line through the interior then accidentally kick it apart with your foot then accidentally set the exposed fuel on fire with an unfinished cigarette bud. exploding all the vehicle occupants. Pretty sure they fixed that for 2021 and recalled a whole bunch back and replaced the parts. It was a company that they bought the steering components from that decided to use softer metals for the rod connections. But yes it never should have happened.

Worn front shocks can cause that. That happened on 2000 F350 diesel. That truck went through a pair of front shocks and 2 pairs of rear shocks in the 24 years we owned it. Hated getting rid of it but started having trouble getting up into it after I aged out and became an invalid. Spent about $10k on maintenance through the years but not a nickel on the great 7.3 powerstroke.

The Honda was a surprise i have to admit, but what was missing from this list was the 2019 Toyota Tacoma. Not only is all the wiring made of Soy product, the fuel pump was so dodgy it often stank of gas, the drivers seat collapsed, and the throttle body would spontaneously loose power without warning. Handed it back and Toyota Finance had no issues with me doing so. Cost cents on the dollar as well.

Most people don't have much of a problem, but more often than you would think, what is called death wobble occurs. All the dealership is going to do is give you a free alignment and if problem persists they pretty much tell you that you're on your own
