Maybe, but Lauren “LaLa” was extremely hypocritical and a bully. She should be ashamed and she’s supposedly in Recovery. If she doesn’t start looking within, she’ll be looking at the end of a bottle soon.
@@tonicmom11 yea I agree. As someone in recovery she is extremely judgemental and places a lot of blame. You're supposed to keep your side of the street clean and help other people... Not degrade them and make them feel small, especially for things that you've done yourself. I've heard a lot of people that know her off camera that she's not like that in real life.. she separates the show from real life.. unfortunately rockelle/Rachel isn't able to do that... So I think lala goes hard and says things on camera she wouldn't normally say in real life. At least I hope that's the case... It seems like every one on the show except rockelle is able to separate reality TV from reality
Lala is also a cheater with Randall and a cheater with james. So she should stfu and sit the f down.
Why didn’t she talk about Tom almost at all here? I wouldn’t be surprised if he somehow prevented her from disclosing anything about their relationship.
Reality TV is disgusting and needs a reckoning. It breeds hate and abuse for money. I hope Rachel gets all the help she needs to get through this and come out a better person. These networks, producers and executives are deplorable. Thank you Bethany for shedding light

I am 53 and thank God there were no no cell phones, social media in my teens and 20's. We all make mistakes in our youth but I couldn't imagine having it played out in the public eye.
I’m 52 and same! I even tell my children never film or document something you don’t want public. Even people our age!! The fact this guy filmed her without consent is alarming. She wasn’t right but damn enough.

It’s so sick that bethanny didn’t watch the full show to understand the dynamics between all of them… also I was hoping that Rachel , after all this time understood not to believe the things that Sandoval was saying .. she is still believing him .. and not seeing that he is manipulating her .
Agree! This interview was so off base and cringe worthy because she didn't have the whole back story and just treated Rachel as if she was this poor, innocent, abused individual. There was alot of pathological, deceptive, gas lighting and crazy making behaviour Rachel engaged in which Bethany totally missed. I usually respect Bethany. but this just felt ugly and pathetic the way her lack of background on Rachel and her behaviour throughout the season turned this interview into being so off base and almost being lured it and gaslit by Rachel during this very interview.....I felt as if Rachel essentially misrepesented herself to Bethany just as she misreprsented herself to Ariana and other cast members during and after during the Scandoval season. Poor preppring for this interview. This actually was infuriating to watch.

I've made bad decisions but not one that destroys a family. Ariana and Tom were dating seriously. They lived together. She ruined that. So did Tom. They both such in my book. And she wasn't young. She was still an adult and adults know better than to act that way

The point is people can change, especially if they reflect on the circumstances and internal bs going on that made the horrible, selfish, destructive decision easier to make. Even if she did know better, which she obviously did, people still make bad decisions. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. If she makes the mistake again then it's a different story ofc.
I also spent 90 days in The Meadows but in Pa. What started as 30 days made me want to stay 90. Mine was for Addiction and PTSD issues. It's a great program. Yes, it was like a country club too but I beat my addiction and I am happy for her.
I can't imagine what it is like today but that was 86. I am clean 37 years.

@@hunkerdown Thank you so much. It's a great program. I was upset with people saying she was at a resort. Meadows is indeed, like a country club but there's a strict 7am -5pm schedule. After hours they had a lot of cool activities for us and I can see how it helped me in real life situations. Socializing without needing to be high. I'm proud of not using iv drugs More than half my life 🥰.
@@theresaterry164 Thank you so much ❤️. It's not a Christian facility but I was saved while there. Went in an IV drug addict and came out clean and a very grateful child of a mighty God. I made life long friends there. I actually found my love of art while there. Picked up a bass guitar and learned it. It was kinda like a healthy addition to God and music. However ironically I chose a professional that made drugs free and readily available to me in the music industry. I was never tempted after I left the meadows. I will forever be grateful to my late Daddy for spending the 30 grand to get me healthy 🥰. That's 1986. I can't imagine what it costs today. I never jumped on the hate wagon and felt sorry for Rachel. She seems to be getting healthier every day and I am happy for her.

I have abused alcohol and am not drinking now …. I take one day at a time! Your story gives me hope and I thank you for that! Oh I just wanted to say that I don’t hate Rachel, yet I have no sympathy for her….. I think she uses mental health as an excuse….. she is still telling lies. If she would just come clean and quit blaming the show and cast members that would be something…. But she is spewing lies that can be checked. She should be happy James is taking the dog, Gram after two trainers saying he won’t stop biting would have definitely been put down. It baffles me that Tom Sandoval hasn’t had to explain himself the way Raquel has had to! I don’t understand why she is being held to higher standards than he is!

He repulses me. There is an evil aura around him.
She's also trying to get screen time out of it . Tom plays more of a character for the show . And her line is a little blurred . And I'm pretty sure he's losing more from this .She knows how to win people over . Been doing it her whole life
Honestly, Bethenny is such a gift. I love women encouraging women to speak and to accept all of their being, flaws and all. This was a garbage situation - and a life learning experience for all involved. A lot of us screw up like this in life (not exactly like this, but in really impactful ways) when we're young. We just don't have the public watching.
Could not agree more. There's holding one accountable, and boy is the world making Rachel do so and she is willing and 100% doing the work. But I'm not here for the vile lines crossed so many times by the VPR/Bravo machine, it's a disgrace. And imho Sandoval seems to be getting off so lightly in comparison. Thanks to Bethenny for exposing what is non other than exploitation at this point.
Well this interview literally turned around how my opinion was in regards to this woman …..it’s very sick that Tom is off Scott free and Arianna who I was so very sorry for this happening to has gone through a lot and should never have been treated like she was but by god how she has triumphed and is in a place she would never have gotten to on her own she has become an egotistical narcissist get a life Arianna you have a much better life . What you did Rachel was not ok but learning changing and growing in a way that makes you a better person is Great ! I never realized how intelligent and insightful Bethenny is, this is important. I would like to see/hear more about the genesis of how we women arrive at the point of desiring unavailable partners. I'll be looking for more. Thank u also Bethenny for giving this young woman some dignity in expressing her story. Not okaying anything just seeing the self sabotage. Me too
As someone who was cheated on I can confirm that I really disliked Raquel HOWEVER I did not agree with the level of vitriol thrown her way by the other cast mates! It's one thing for Ariana to be upset and to insult her etc but the others were taking turns torturing her! It felt so unfair and CRUEL. Thank you Beth for doing this interview. While I still dont like Raquel's character for engaging in that affair, I also do not agree with the actions the cast did and that Bravo allowed for it all to happen the way it did. It was evil.

This girl was pulled through the mud and I of course do not agree with cheating. But I hate that aren’t discussing all of the cheating that has gone on VPR. Ariana cheated with Tom while he was still with Kristen. Jax cheated on Stassi with Kristen. Scheana was in a relationship for two years with Eddie Cibrian while he was married to Brandi Granville. So the hypocrisy is making me nuts! And Bravo should be shitting in their pants because Bethenny is a force to be reckoned with and there is power in numbers! Because there is are over one hundred reality stars that have reached out to her.
So true. Ariana's reaction was warranted. Considering not many women are given the opportunity to confront the mistress, of course not all would have done the same because they are not able to confront them. So it's so easy to say for others that the things Ariana said were too much. Lol I've watched videos where confrontations end up being physical, I don't know how Ariana remained seated

Unscathed he has been made the only villain. This was called Sandoval. Rachel is getting everything she wanted. Fame! She had no role left on the show.Yet demanded more money. So now she’s following her path and those advising her to gain more fame & fortune!
LVP said she refused to do latest season so no money . Tom got it rough this season from what I have watched. Arianna was and has been a likeable reality star since day she started . OMG Arianna and Sandoval forked 50 k for your proposal . Acquaintances wouldn't do the things she did for you .

This was such an insightful episode. Great job for continuing to expose the exploitation of reality TV. No one is saying it shouldn’t exist, just properly pay your casts.

The Reunion shows how low reality tv has sunk. I'm glad Bethenny is tackling this situation, whatever her motivation she is correct to raise the issues she is. I wish Raquel all the best, out of the den of vipers and back to whatever normality she is allowed to choose.

The reunion was so annoying to watch. They wouldn’t let Tom or Rachel speak whatsoever bc they knew all of them are guilty of cheating and Tom and Ariana were done so might as well just bark bark bark
Bravo has done this before to Raquel. The season that shows James Kennedy screaming in her face, sending her abusive texts, belittling her…he was never held to account. Not like this ‘scandoval’ where she was burnt to the ground and not once did the producers step in to protect her from the verbal abuse and tirade in that reunion. “Who is the protector of the employee?” Yesss Bethany!!! That whole scene where he was blowing up her phone people found videos of her with Sandoval that night lol. Then they released a deleted scene where Sandoval told James that he had nothing to worry ab right after that. So he was suspicious back then and dealt with it very poorly but clearly he was onto something
@@raquueelx3 There is no excuse for abuse. He called Kristen a s*^t, and spat on her door. He has screamed obscenities at Kristen, Lala and Raquel’s faces whilst in relationships with them. He has sent barrages of insults threats via sms and voicemails. This is about a repeated pattern of behaviour which constitutes abuse. Regardless of who he thinks may have cheated on him. I don’t know any woman who would want their daughter treated like James Kennedy has treated these women.
I’m still shocked that Bethenny is so damn generous with what she pays her interns!! Her interns make close to what a lot of doctors make a year- if not more! Where do I sign up?!

This show is really showcasing the power of influence. The fact that Ariana, James or Lala feel the need to squeeze an apology out of Tom as if they are standing self-righteously squeaky clean is beyond understanding.
Bethany reading back what was said on the reunion was so powerful. I do not condone cheating or side with cheaters ever but the way she was spoken to made me take a step back as a mother and seriously made me so sad. I would be in an orange jumpsuit if someone talked to my child like this.

I appreciate you giving Rachel a chance to speak. I was disgusted and disheartened how the rest of the VPR cast bullied her. It was not right and in this culture of dont bully people, she was utterly bullied and if words were rocks, she’d be stoned to death. It was cruel and broke my heart. Nobody deserves that treatment esp amongst a peer group who regularly lie cheat etc. How they could all sit there in judgement with all their sins was WHACK!

Ariana also had many mental health issues (and other issues) that Rachel was well aware of and still decided to blow up her life, do you think Rachel was considerate about other peoples mental health the same way?
Have you thought of the fact that Ariana loved Raquel so much and protected her. But she betrayed Ariana her one true friend.
What’s disturbing about this interview is how both of these women try to excuse Raquel’s actions by blaming bravo and the producers for “putting” Raquel in this situation. Raquel CHOSE to drink too much during the show, Raquel CHOSE to be on the show, and Raquel CHOSE (as an almost 30 year old adult) to have a 7 month long affair with her best friends boyfriend. Raquel did a truly despicable thing & there is absolutely no excuse or explanation for how or why because what she did is completely unfathomable.
I guess ARIANA should blame Bravo too because she did the same to Kristen. CHEATING IS CHEATING friends or not friends. IT'S ALL THE SAME
Though I agree, cheating is cheating, making the rash decision to have a one night stand versus consciously having a month's long affair with your best friends partner of 9 years are not the same.
Obviously, some people weren't paying attention. Rachel apologized and got counseling! She took ownership of her mistakes, and they were not best friends! I hope nothing ever happens to some of these people in the future where they are put in a situation that they're really not ready to handle. No matter what people think reality TV is not reality, it is bits and pieces of the truth. It must be really difficult to be perfect. I'm not condoning her actions, but I know people do make mistakes in their lives, and it takes a lot of guts to accept responsibility for something that has hurt so many people. I wish her nothing but the best, and as they said, there are a lot of people making money off of her misery. Raquel, hold your head high because no one is perfect exclamation!

The amount of bullying that has come from this is despicable… let’s start from the beginning Stassi and Kristin get canceled for making racist remarks, James is allowed to be closet abusive, the entire cast has been vile to others. Then at the reunion everyone attacks Raquel, who cares what she’s done, you have a room full of attackers (similar to putting a chicken in a pitbull cage) they are allowed and encouraged to say disgusting, degrading, humiliating things to this girl with no regard and then Ariana (because she got cheated on) gets tons of endorsements after she has been a bully.. what!?!? We teach our children not to bully yet a room full of adults encourages it.. it’s the most disgusting thing I’ve ever witnessed and I hope everyone takes a good look at what as an audience were encouraging by continuing to watch this trash!!!

Thank you SO much for this interview. I watched the reunion and honestly felt like Rachelle deserved it. When you reread the words and things that were said to her, I felt disgusted in myself. At the time I was in a haze and in group mentality and even if everything was 100% true (which at the time I thought was the truth) no human deserves that. And now learning that it was so exaggerated makes me realize how I have become desensitized to this type of abuse in reality tv, and I am now committed to make a change in myself.

Really appreciate bringing light to abuse in the workplace that Raquel suffered through, regardless of her responsibility in the situation. No other business would have been able to allow this happen to one of their employees without severe consequences - emotional abuse is not what she signed up for, especially when there are older adults that should be looking out for her best interest as a human being. The part where Raquel talks about Ariana not being a close friend but being very positive & supportive for her is the main point. She did decide to have an affair with her partner (whether or not they were in a real relathionship...its her perception)...thats not a good look. Its lack empathy, self-awareness and core values!! Its scream self-centered thats why she got all that hate. I try to rationalise it. Raquel need more self-work & empathy. My god!!
How would you feel if the girlfriend or supposed girlfriend was in on it? What if she got to put on her pretty red dress after you are, utterly shattered in front of the world. I don't know anyone personally who has ever had affair and had to explain it to a national audience. As far as the friendship goes, read between lines. During the 7-8 months of cheating and avoiding the subject...if the empathy "chip" did'nt click... that's a big problem. Even if Ariana cheat to get Tom in the first place, it's not an excuse to act similiar or as low. Both of them him & her need to never excuse or deflect their responsability. Rachel and Ariana were friends, it was very obvious. Not "besties" maybe, but at least close colleagues. Tom Sandoval is a manipulative, nasty piece of work who needed his ego stroked, and played Rachel like a fiddle. But she's still responsible.

I'm not an avid Vanderpump fan and only watched bits and parts of the show and also watched the reunion. There is not one thing annoying about her voice. For a very young girl she expresses herself well, and has a nice voice. Have you ever heard Sheena’s voice?

Okay, Rachel saying that she was never close to Ariana is making it so hard to believe everything she’s saying… like if she owned up to the betrayal of someone who cheered her on season after season & even more so while Rachel was effing her boyfriend..I would say there’s growth here. They were never close if you have watched every season. Go back to this season when Lala and Katie told Ariana what they thought was going on and Ariana said but she’s my BF, I don’t believe she’d do that to me. Even when she said it, you could tell she didn’t believe they were BF’s, but it had to be said, for this whole victim mentality to play out. They were not BF’s. Her eyes were downcast when she said it, which people do when they lie. Plus it was the worst acting job for anyone to believe it when she said it. That’s when I knew this was all contrived to play out a certain way. To make the whole story more salacious.

Like Bethenny said, are the people on these shows always really best friends or are these just manufactured friendships under bright lights with intense drama encouraged between all of them? There is so much complexity to life, people's realities, and their personalities as it is. Reality TV is not showing us how people actually are per se because producers on Bravo want as much drama as they can get and they encourage really low and shallow sides of people to come out. It's a bunch of smoke and mirrors. Anyone could get drained from it and not be their best self. I don't think any of what I've said excuses this girl's behavior but she's young, obviously naive, and will learn. People don't need to throw a bunch of hate at her. Rachel, I became a viewer of the show because everyone was talking about Scandoval, and I didn't know what the big deal was, so I quickly caught up over the last few weeks, and just got to the reunion today.
The reunion was brutal and it was like the Bravo execs pitted your cast mates against you, and let go of the leashes for ratings. Watching this interview made me realize that this was a work situation and your employers had a duty to ensure that you were emotionally safe. Please, please, please see a lawyer and take legal action against Bravo. This was intentional infliction of emotional distress. I know confronting Bravo and pursuing litigation would expose you to further stress, but there have to be guardrails and consequences for Bravo and the execs, too. They dismissed your humanity and abused their power for profit, and that's not okay.
And you're human... humans f**k up and relationships are messy, but Tom was in the "committed" relationship with Ariana, not you--and if he wanted out, he should have grown a pair.
As a society we have to do better, and that only happens when people challenge those in power. I'm impressed with all the work you've done on yourself to come out of this, and inspired and proud of how much you've grown. You will emerge from this a strong and amazing person, and I wish you 'only the best things that could ever happen to a person.'
I'm honestly appalled at the way the network and cast have treated Raquel and to be honest I won't be watching another series. The remaining cast have sold their souls to the Devil AKA Bravo! If Raquel wasn't as strong as she is this could of ended in tragedy.

I remember being someone that felt some kind of way about her. It was not strong emotions as I don't know her personally and I don't get heavily involved. However, I was like well she deserves what she got. That all changed when Bethenny talked about her therapist and how he said that she was abused and not punished. Then when Bethenny read back all the things that she was told at the reunion. Bethenny knows what she is doing. Wow.

If you have been in an abusive relationship you would get this. My abuser was the last person I allowed myself to draw boundaries with. Mostly due to childhood trauma, abandonment wounds and I has a trauma bond with him.. but the fact that she gave him her keys makes sense to me. He was the only person she had anymore at that point and up until that point he has made her believe he truly loved her.
When did she say she hated tom? I think they were still talking up until fairly recently. I actually wanted to find out more about how and when things totally ended. None of that has been reported for sure by anyone.

Rachel said that the way Ariana talked to her was uncalled for. I respectfully disagree. The reunion was taped nearly two weeks after Ariana’s world crumbled from all the deception. Of course Ariana had reason to use such harsh words after being so wronged by her friend (regardless whether Rachel viewed her as a ‘best friend’). With more distance from the situation, I’m sure Ariana would have used different language.
She had two weeks to compose herself. She’s a 40 year old woman, she should be very ashamed of herself and her behaviour: consequences are important but abuse is never earned. She was betrayed, nobody was killed. A shocking and severe lack of emotional regulation.

Like 👍 what you had to say. I wasn't team anybody. However, I felt that Rachel was always in over her head from the beginning with James, and she thought that being in this type of show business was not as hard as trying to be an actress or whatever, she was wrong. She is a young woman from the pageant world who probably wanted to find a place in something similar. She aged out of her type of competition and went to L.A and tried to make a new career through the reality TV world. Too bad she got suckered by James and especially Tom! He's the real jersey in the story. I just feel so sorry for this girl. Too trusting and not the place for her. She really needs to get out of there and try to start a new life in something else.
And now Bethany is using Rachel to further her Agenda, there is nothing altruistic about this interview, this furthering brand Bethany.

I do agree with Bethany’s point of view about punishment being different from abuse. However, I’m shocked that Raquel is sitting here thinking she’s a victim. Using statements like “how did I get caught up in this” “Ariana and I were never best friends”. Calling scheana a best friend in air quotes…. To me it seems like she has no self awareness of how she landed herself in that situation, made herself a target of hate from her cast mates. Everything is very passive in her mind. And if you don’t have self awareness of how you messed up once, you’re doomed to repeat the same mistakes again. Raquel may not be subhuman…..but she is someone who is dangerous to have around because she will carelessly do things that can ruin lives and then go “how did this happen to me”. Rather than ask herself “how could I cause this level of damage to the people around me?” You have to be aware of how your actions affect your group….or guess what? They won’t like you very much. She shouldn’t be abused but she shouldn’t be given a second chance either because she still has not learned. She’s just busy feeling sorry for herself that she’s not getting rich off this as well.

Anyone would wonder how they get caught up in an affair. Tom probably told her a lot of things that weren’t true. She’s allowed to tell us her and Ariana weren’t best friends. That was important to know because everyone was saying that they were best friends. You’re upset because she told her truth and you don’t like to hear the truth. You just want her to sit there and apologize multiple times. She never made excuses for her actions. She’s explaining to us what went on in her life and what led up to her poor decisions.

Not sure what you just watched but she talks significantly about, needing to learn why she is doing what she is doing, what is fueling her to do it and how can she change it going forward. She has taken a great deal of responsibility for her actions and has made proper steps (in getting help) to understand herself and her own behavior. Her job isn't to fix everyone around her, her job is to fix herself. And that's what she is trying to do. She can't worry about everyone else's opinions right now and her only focus is on herself, which to many people that don't understand what self-love is, they will mix it up with being self-fish. I would imagine it is hard to navigate, understand and not have some level of victim feelings; when an entire cast is profiting, marketing off of the scandal, and walking around as though they are innocent. While we all know they are not and have all engaged in affairs, while Rachel has been brutalized, villainized, and shamed, no money coming in; while all her cast members are responsible for the same actions and have capitalized off of it. Arianna and Tom capitalized off of the scandal with Kristen. Brittany and Jax off of his affair, Schena and all her cheating, mistress, and drug addict ex husband, Lala and all her crap. The list goes on and on and they have all capitalized off of it, in one way or another. Why should she be any different? Why does everyone want to hold her to a different standard, but let everyone else off easily.

Applauding Bethenny for the courage to do this interview. As I was watching the reunion, I could not believe the hatred that was expressed by cast members that I had adored in the past. I was a fan, had watched all seasons. I cannot watch the show any more.. Hoping there are others who could separate themselves from the situation enough to see that there is no excuse for the words the cast members uttered .. we have all been through breakups, we have all been betrayed .. it is times like this that our true self shines through. Yes, it was horrendous how Lala, Adriana and rest treated Rachel at the reunion!!! No one ever wants to be with someone who cheats!!! But, in this case, it went waaaaayyyyy over board!!! Yes. May I start by saying that I wasn’t sure what to expect here……Let’s just say that I was pleasantly surprised by this interview and I was NOT sure how I felt about Rachel/ Raquel ….guess what? I find her adorable and honest ,sweet, smart and I wish she NEVER gave her beautiful self to Tom! Although I do like Tom ….. but let’s face it he is quite SELFISH!!!! Now Bethany ……she has become one of my all time favorite housewives and truth be told I shouldn’t even refer to her that way , she is soooo much more !! She is a bad ass who knows business & is quite an inspiration to me and probably to a lot of women for all the great things she does in the world! I absolutely love her! This was excellent. Rachel learned a hard lesson for everyone else’s entertainment and she deserves a voice. Those of us who have watched from the beginning and lived a decent amount of time could tell she wasn’t the monster she was made out to be. She made errors most definitely but look at her growth. First ignorant Howie, now Bethany. Ironically B is using Rachel to push her agenda without even having watched much of the show. The reason people are upset is bc Ariana and Tom were in a relationship for nearly a decade, and bc people feel like they know Ariana. Rachel was smiling in her face.

I don't think her laughing or smiling is an indication of not feeling remorse. I know it may seem that way but when I am in uncomfortable situations, whether I have caused it or not, I tend to laugh or smile out of discomfort. It's an odd copping mechanism and I am very self aware of it and do my best to show the correct emotion that is required in that moment. Because I understand that people will mistake my response as a lack of caring, when on the very contrary, I feel deeply the emotions. Whether that's guilt, shame, remorse or empathy. But again outwardly, it comes out in smiles and laughs (not all the time but a good amount). My deep emotional side, always comes out when I am alone. Just thought I would share a different perspective for you. Not everything is as it appears.

But for me, when it all came out and her and him were standing in her kitchen, her going on about how she loved him, kissing him, and ready to make it official was sickening, she wasn’t worried at all about her actions or the hurt it caused, but when things started airing and people seen her true colors and seen how unbothered she was it made people hate her even more.
