This is album was recorded (maybe mixed?) in Sweden by well known metal producer Fredrik Nordström who also did (among others) At the Gates, Arch Enemy, Nightrage, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Soilwork, Opeth, Powerwolf according to wikipedia. The video was also recorded and filmed in Sweden as far as I know by Swedish videographer.

Then it has to be the style they chose and I respect that. Mixing is an art form and I wish I mentioned that. So I don't think they got it wrong. That was just what I prefer. I always forget to take a step back be like, that is probably how they wanted it. Because it is still good song.

I am not saying you are wrong on this either, I am not the biggest fan of the vocal and drum production either. I am also not a huge fan of Kimi's vocals in general to be fair, I am not really sure why but it might be because they choose to use full English lyrics and it just doesn't work as well for her. So I can totally get where you are coming from. I just made this post more for information than to "complain" about your video. But I actually agree that them taking a specific artistic decision is a good thing, there is clearly a fanbase for it.
For comparison, I just bought 2 of their older releases to give them more of a shot, their 2017 EP Rise and their 2021 album Bloody Bride and I have to say they I don't really like the production of the 2021 album either (I much prefer their older 2017 EP in that sense). The drums sound very thin on that one as well for example. But I am looking forward to give the whole new album a shot when it releases and I am ready to be surprised. Because while they are pretty hit-or-miss for me, I do think they deserve to be more well known than they are.
As far as them live goes, I have seen one live streamed set and while it had terrible sound (one of the worst ones I have ever heard and I have seen well over 100 streamed sets by now, which was absolutely not the bands fault), it was pretty enjoyable. I liked what I could hear way more than the somewhat overproduced vocals on the album for example. Kimi is also pretty good at hyping up the crowd and they are all really good musicians. I would gladly watch then again live.

I disagree with you so much on everything with respect to BRIDEAR. I love them. I love KIMI's vocals. I love every layer and this is one of their best mixed songs IMO. vocals could be a little louder, but overall this song is PURE FIRE. NATSUMI dominates and drives this song on the drums IMO. but I am sad that you don't like KIMI's vocals, she's one of my personal favorites, I tend to like unique vocalists (RUSH being my favorite band of all time, many hated Geddy Lee's vocals) Hagane's new vocalist is pure fire too btw.

Agreed about Kimi; her voice stood out to me (in a good way) from the beginning. Good point about others, too. My own favorite band is Volbeat, and Michael Poulsen's voice tends to be very hit-or-miss for people.

Alan, why do think then with all of the different producers they have had, in most cases isn't done correctly, if it's an easy fix? Just curious how they all seem to get it wrong. Do you think the band or their staff is influencing the result too much? From what I have heard so far, most everyone is giving great feedback overall for this song. Kimi's vocals have always been a point of love or meh throughout though, but you could say about most vocalists. I really like this song and have high hopes for the rest of the album. I think it will be one their best yet.

A little fixated on the mix and mastering IMO, but on the other hand I get it; things like that will stand out more to musicians. I think the song hits different for folks who have been following Bridear for a while, or who are otherwise well acquainted with their discography (as in my case). And hey, the band still having room to grow is a good thing.

I think her vocals would be better if she sang in Japanese instead of English. The band definitely has the talent to be as good as anyone. This song is a definite improvement over their previous work.

Kimi, love that girl, but I agree, she is not a top level vocalist by any means. I loved Takae (Armmy) from Gacharic Spin (RIP) as well. However, she was also a limited vocalist. What they both do (did) provide is that energy, passion and stage presence you want from a lead vocalist in a performance act. So, it is okay to be a fan (fanatical to a degree), but why throw so much hate on Alan who is just pointing out something he is hearing from his years of experience as both a musician and recording engineer. Sure, he is doing it in his own condescending pompous way (LOL!). However, if you have been here as long as I have, that is Alan. Love him or hate him, he is a big reason I always like to hear what he has to say.

FU Alan. Your not the be all end all when it comes to sound engineering. Also your supposed to be reacting to the song and not how the damn thing was mixed. You obsess over that shit all the time. Give it rest already.

They would never have found J-rock, these people who react to it are getting worse and worse, Japanese music is incredible, we were happy without you, if you didn't like it you wouldn't listen to it anymore and that's where it was, but now they think they're experts, they have no idea of Japanese music.

@@dicodecliveYour channel is about reactions, now everyone feels critical, it's simply whether I like it or I don't like it, Japanese music is incredible, that's why it's one of the most important industries in the world, there are artists who are legends in Japan who don't even Whatever they've heard, they're just limited to the same old bands. They just close to the same thing. Or change your channel to reviews, so it would be better understood what you are going to talk about.
