I honestly like that strat. The pink color reminds me of the Hello Kitty strat, and the looks reminds me of Eddie Van Halen's black and white guitar, but it's got a hardtail and a tone knob. It's sounds okay in stock to me, but I would like to see the future modification video.
The mod video is gonna be insane. Also yeah I think the reason they made it pink & white with one humbucker is to remind people of thay rare Hello kitty strat
Iâd love to just see a pink Frankenstrat paint job
You're a guy and you want a pink guitar?
@@ss_whole Yeah Who wouldn't want a pink guitar it's cool and different if your gonna get a guitar you don't want it to be boring. And what wrong with a guy liking pink.
@@ss_whole "Strangely enough, in the wake of World War II, the script was flipped and pink suddenly started being marketed and sold by fashion brands and retailers as the perfect color for women, while blue was suddenly manly and masculine."
Thats an excerpt from an article that explains the history of blue and pink. Its just evidence that if you think pink is a girl color that you have fallen for the propaganda from advertisers.
The rising price on Squiers has been bugging me the past few years, I'm so thrilled they brought these out at such a good price. It makes me so excited for people who are just getting started and have such a great option.
I started playing about 6 months ago when I walked into a pawn shop to get a new keyboard and wlaked out with a squier strat and an amp. I have played everyday since and got to say the squier has served me great. Held tuning really well even after using the whammy. HAd zero issues with it. That being said yesterday I went out and got my first decent guitar which was a schector banshee!.
I am liiterally in love with my new guitar.
â@@TheDantheman12121 You're telling me that after just half a year of playing... you got a guitar that costs over a thousand bucks?
@@mr.coolio4321 dude people can be crazy with how they get gear. When I was in middle school, a friend and I got really into guitar playing. I had a harmony strat copy and he got a squier; tried to throw it in my face that his also said by fender on it đ and then after a year of playing he convinced his parents to buy him a custom Gibson les Paul in black with a set of brushed steel or aluminum hardware that looked amazing. Some people I guess just can spend it and do đ€·đœââïž
Exactly. The prices have gone through the roof. These new Squiers are afordable & come in great colors.
@@mr.coolio4321yeah? whereâs the issue?
Wow, your right-hand picks so fast that the wind from it blows your hair, AWESOME!!!
I've been playing for about forty years and this is going to be my next guitar. I've owned top of the line PRS, ESP, strats, Charvels, everything under the sun. And this is the kind of guitar that's perfect for me. One bucker, hard tail, that's it.
Whatâs fun is after you learn on it, you can mod it and do whatever upgrades and turn into a kick ass guitar with sentimental value of being your first guitar.
Tbh I donât really understand the sentimentality with your first guitar, mine was a Yamaha Pacifica and after I bought a new guitar I thought it sucked so I sold it. Iâm happy with that decision, it was really not a great guitar
Looks like the old Tom Delong signature. Very cool.
I love how you turn on the fan to get your hair going during the playing demo đ
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed both those things haha đ single humbucker guitars rule
Like a budget throwback model
â@@JDB187850% of price of td version is just markup because of td.
Itâs nice to hear how good the fret ends are. In a beginner guitar, thatâs one of the biggest drawbacks imo. Most beginners (especially kids) arenât going to know how to deal with that and plays a factor in not wanting to continue playing. Comfort and feel will be the most important thing when starting guitar. If itâs uncomfortable to play, they often wonât know itâs the fault of the guitar and assume âthatâs just the way it isâ get disinterested, dissatisfied, and quit playing.
That pink is my absolute favorite color, and I'm definitely gonna get one once there's new stock because I need that in my life. It sounds fantastic for the kinds of things I love playing too
I just got mine in the mail yesterday. Ordered after watching your video and just being blown away by how it looks. I love this guitar a ton! It looks amazing.. very lightweight also but sounds wonderful. So glad they didn't put in a cheap trem.. I had thought about getting a Baretta special but thought that the cheap trem in it kinda ruined it a bit. I am much happier with the hardtail.
Thanks a lot, very useful video!
I just gotta say, the fan effect on your hair while you're jamming is a super nice touch. Great effort young man!
20 seconds in, already a classic
Squiers have always been my favorite, not even considering budget. They always have such cool ideas too. My main guitar for 6 years has been a Squier Affinity Strat. I learned how to solder on it, wind pickups for it, learned wiring so I can install push-pull for phase switching and routing with a crappy dremel, rattle can paint. The thing is a monster and it just keeps going. Also weighs like 2 pounds with 3 humbuckers, crazy wiring harness, and a kill switch. Indonesian was always the way to go though. The Chinese ones always felt cheaper and the qc is questionable.
Korea is the way to go as far as imports . Leaps and bounds
Highly tempted to get that and a baritone neck, I love the finish đ
I absolutely love guitars with goofy bright colors like that.
I just got mine today. Can't wait to noodle around with it after work!
I appreciate the hell out of your tone. Not all⊠like everyone elseâs. Yet familiar and wonderful. Cheers!
This will a great mod guitar! Hardtail, single humbucker and pinkâŠAbsolute Pop Punk rocker! Good job Squier!
Would love to see this with a High Output HB and a pearloid guard, shades of the old Tom Delonge signature
I know right? Especially with the Tom Delonge edition of his Strat coming out this week, I heard it's supposed to go for $1299 USD, which is really pushing but also expected. Might as well invest in this Squire and an Invader pickup for much much less. The TD Strat is nice but for the price it will be going for, it's really for buying into the hype and nostalgia.
Haha love the digs at the beginning of the video đ€
man hearing you play Slaughter of the Soul took me back to high school. far out. At the Gates were awesome
I love how my boy always rips out an At The Gates riff outta nowhere
I'm so glad they brought these out. They've recently discontinued one of their Affinity Strats which was a blatant homage to the Tom DeLonge signatures of the 2000s. With the way TD sig prices have gone nowadays (ÂŁ2k+ for a Fender and even ÂŁ600-1000 for a Squier), I had to pick one up. All I need to do is get an Invader pickup for the bridge and I have a TD Strat fkr ÂŁ350 đ Everything else is identical, right down to the hardtail bridge and CBS headstock.
I work at a small music store where we get all the new fender stuff and i must say I have really grown close to the new Squier guitars. Really worth it, they look and sound great. I joke that theyre better than the player series because i really dont like any of the profiles on any fender player guitars/basses. Love the anniversary series and paranormals. A few simple upgrades and id definitely gig with one.
I first learned to play on a late 90âs Affinity Strat. By todayâs standards it wasnât that great but I bought a FSR Bullet Tele string thru body in butterscotch yellow a couple years ago on sale for about $170 US. I am blown away by how fun it is to play and sounds great for the price. I play it more than my Fender Tele. Iâll always have a soft spot for Squier.
I had to order the HSS in Haitian Coral. As soon as I saw they were gonna be released, that one had my name on it. Despite owning high end guitars, I love my Squier '51 and it made me had respect for the brand.
Iâve always loved Shell Pink Fender guitars! Iâve got a Japanese 62 reissue Strat in Shell Pink and love it. Iâve become a big fan of your channel as well! Iâm curious, what are your amp settings? That was a killer thrash tone in this video! And something I donât get out of my Soldano SLOâŠperhaps a Marshall is in my futureâŠ
Anyway, keep up the good work my friend! đ€đŒâđŒ
My favourite guitar I own is a Squier that I modded. The neck is perfect!
i just want a guitar for fun so it being low cost while not being low quality and especially the looks is the most important thing
gonna get sonic strat in purple (id normally get pink but it seems like lighter purple guitars arent all that common and i like purple so why not)
I hadnt purchased a squier in years because the frets were always annoying. That being said I was SHOCKED when at guitar center I picked one up off the show floor and the frets were damn near perfect! It was on sale for 156.00 and I feel like I stole it. Crazy good.
Thats pretty cool! You might consider adding an animated dog(goofy, deputy dog, paw patrol etc) sticker to it and sending a pic to Agufish.
Mentions At the gates, proceeds playing the riff, stops for a second, and i am like noooooooooo where is the next part !!!!! And then next part kicks in....man this editing was gold. And playing was sick too. I want this squier in black ! Thank you for the video !
I'm really looking forward to the Sonic series Mustangs. I'm torn between the red and blue. Thanks, I was looking for a review like this. Especially with the balloon. Glad to hear the quality is good so far.
I would troll about playing a âŹ169 guitar through a Marshall tube head, but I can't remember the last time I watched a "Expensive guitar, cheap amp vs cheap guitar, expensive amp". Great vid, super stoked for these and the mod project!
I LOVE single pickup guitars. What a sweet guitar. I am so glad the fret work is nice--most important part.
While I don't like guitars with one pickup at least maybe people will butcher two- and three pickups less, but I like that color and and I love it being hard tail Strat, finally some decent Strat without a trem.
Anyone know if the body on this strat is still routed to throw a 3 single coil pickguard on it?
As a big status quo (tele) fan the Humbucker esquire is one of the best releases of 2023 (especially the white one)
The Ultraviolet Esquire and the matching Strat are gonna be my first Squier Sonic purchases. đ
@@MichaelD8393 cool
Just bought one fresh off the assembly line in black with the laurel fretboard. I paid $170 for it, but the quality feels like a midrange guitar. Itâs very solid.
Balloon test. Brilliant
looking to save up would you say squier sonic strats are better or squier sonic tele
These guitars are siiiiick af, good job on the video, I also Bought the pink one and made a video on it đ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒ
This guitar looks amazing, fell in love with it the moment I saw it †Hope it doesnt get the Hello Kitry squier treatment tho...
Gonna get a much better treatment hahah
The new Squires are really solid. Especially the 40th anniversary stuff.
Fantastic review! Wondering if you'd mind giving us an update at 1 year to see how this thing holds up long term.
I wonder if they are routed for the extra pickups under the pickguard still.
Yes, they are đ
Dude squiers are totally slept on. I got myaself a Classic Vibe 70's P bass and that thing rips. Even harder than the mexican P they had next to it in the store. My studio guy keeps telling me about how much he loves it.
Hi I got Yellow one. I love it. đ
Great review! Is it possible to rout a neck and a middle pickup? Or is there only one cavity for the bridge humbucker?
Six months late, but if you hadn't already found out it's routed for hsh đ
Well don't stop with the fret ends!
Tell us what the action is, if there's any fret buzz without all that distortion hiding it.
Do the tuners work well?
Are the nut slots cut well enough so that you can be intonated?
Slaughter of the Soul, played on a genre and period-accurate cute pink strat.
Nice! You can't beat the new Squires for value. I got a 40th anniversary ( Sea Foam ) and the neck neck and frets are sublime! That pickup sounds decent as well. How about a head to head with the Kramer Beretta cheap model. Only wish it has 22 frets.
5:12 what song/riff is this and the one after that? Sounds super cool
Itâs like a reissue of the hello kitty strat I love it, it sounds great
RIP Larry. Miss you, big guy. Gone but not forgotten.
I feel like teal tone volume knobs would go so good with this guitar and a checkered pickgaurd and classic zebra style humbucker
Huge fan of the 1 pickup, I'd go with just a single volume and no tone but that is still pretty cool.
Huge bonus for mentioning At the Gates. I just bought this guitar for my brother in law in the same finish. Iâm going to mod it into a Tom DeLonge guitar for him. Unfortunately his was unplayable out of the box but I plan on changing the neck anyway.
I was having a ruff day thanks for the great video
đđ
Nice rippage bro !!!
I kinda want a shirt with the quote "I'm sorry Larry" on it now...
I didn't know I needed another guitar, and then I saw the Esquire from this line. Dammit, Fender. I'll get my wallet.
Whatâs the pickup route like
This seems pretty interesting, a single humbuckers strat looks quite cool
I bought a considerably more expensive Squier (40th Anniversary Tele) It has totally surprised me with how nice it is. The neck is better than any of my other guitars, two of which are a Sterling Cutlass and a Les Paul Studio. The neck is simply amazing with a very smooth finish and wonderfully rolled edges on the board. The only drawback is the neck pickup is very dark sounding and will definitely be replaced.
The black one is like 329 Euros on Thomann right now, I might grab it, just cause why not? It's just a bit more expensive than an Affinity, but I guess it will be worth it.
@@LaccerHS The one I got wasn't the type that had block inlays.. I got the red vintage edition one with the black binding for $349. There is a difference in the neck between the one I bought and the one your talking about, mine does not have binding on the fingerboard, I have no idea if this would affect whether the edges are rolled. But for that price I imagine it's quite worth it.
@@Wilco1972 Wow, I thought there is only a body color difference. The roasted maple neck and silver hardware looks definitely better, and would go well with a Gristletone upgrade. All though, it's an extra 100 Euros here for the red one but it's still a good price.
@@LaccerHS Initially I preferred the one with the block inlays, but I just have never been a big fan of gold hardware. And I do like how they have slightly aged the hardware on the one I got. I don't believe the neck is roasted, I think it's tinted to look aged. But it feels as nice to play than my Sterling Cutlass, which is roasted.
Try lowering the pickup, adjusting the pole pieces (if possible), or replacing the capacitor on the tone (if it has one) before replacing the pickup. You may find that the darkness is something you can alleviate without replacement.
You nailed that ATG tune. Nice picking
đđ
do you think a warmouth neck mod would work for this guitar? i kinda wanna stick a baritone neck on it lmao
What can you Travis pick add an acoustic guitar?
The black one is really sick, I'm half tempted to pick one up and stick some really nasty pickup in it, like an X2N or something. It would probably make a vicious axe for death metal
Love maple fretboards. Hard skip on the solid color. Remove the tone knob and it's perfect
That hot pink g-tar ,with His flow-ey hair with those widily wah's and doodily doo's. Best video on youtube. and Now i'm ordering this G-tar , because through that KK Marshall and these licks =Yasssss!
Nice!
I want to get 3 maybe 4 and see how far I can take them with mods. Right now I have 1 preordered.
Sounds great! Although pet peeve of mine is when someone demos the âsoundâ an affordable guitar but puts through a JCM800 or an Axe FX, ofc itâll sound wicked. Glad it plays good though!
Get a better amp
@@crossbones911 My amp sounds great! Its also to the point that the guitar doesnât really matter
Great video! Does it have neck dive?
None. Neck is super light too
Has anyone here played one of these new sonic series strats and compared them to the squier affinity strats? Is the extra 50 worth it for an affinity if these are newer guitars?
Love your channel ! Always look forward to the next episode. Sure your been asked your english is perfect, where did you learn ?
Just learned by speaking it đ
@@sixstringtv1 Well you learned it well
What is the name of the song at 4:33 ?
The 'Bubblegum' pink Jackson SL4X looks as good as this wee Squier đ
Btw, does it have any pickup routing outside of the one Humbucker? I'm thinking of buying and putting a single coil pickup on the neck position.
Not sure yet, I have yet to remove the strings and open it.
Usually, they use one type of body for all of them, with all the pickups routed out.
Iâm in love with the pink colour wtf
Damn, that gritty, blown-out sound from the humbucker is actually kinda killer
Definitely keeping it as a spare part once I replace it
Killing is my business sounded sick on that!
Wait until my mod project is complete đ„
@@sixstringtv1 please Keep us updated on the mod!
Squires are such amazing guitars rn I got a contemporary squire jaguar which is so good and cost me ÂŁ315 new. Thatâs the cost of four fender plectrums!!!
It's like the 20th anniversary bullet strat mixed with Tom delonge signature strat it's pretty awesome
Looks like a squier tom delonge with an added tone knob đ also they had a bullet series a few years ago with the same setup i own the black one.. i love single humbucker strats đđ
Guys what is the song at the 5 15 mark?
Pop punk vibes all over. Im saving up to get one with a high end pickup also and my favorite strings.
Can this be upgraded to have a bridge with a tremolo? If so, what trem system is compatible with it? Nice demo & great playing BTW, that stock humbucker sounded really good!
Only if you route out the entire cavity, since this one is a hardtail. That's not really worth it
which mods are you thinking on doing ????????? :)
4:13 what song is that riff i wanna learn itr
Squier finally making Harley Benton sweat? I like it!
If Aqufish is envious of anything it would be your killer rocking hair style.đ
Thanks man đ€Łđđ
We need to get you a Suhr Classic S Antique. It will change your life as a Strat guy. Also, excellent Megadeth choice.
Can't wait for the Esquire, I wonder if it is routed for an HH setup as well, or is it just a regular H.
I might go for the Esquire just to get a cheap white body for a mod project, maybe put a single white Fishman Modern into it with a 3 way switch, just to get all the possible voices out of it.
Iâm hoping itâs a solid body like the Avril signature model
Esquires always had a neck pup route but then again squier is not fender đ€
Dude, does having a new Sonic Squier make your hair blow back when you're shredding???? Cool guitar and shredding. I'm going to get the Tahitiam Coral one. Thanks for the video..
Make sure to use my affiliate links for gear shopping!!
I bought a guitar just like the pink one (not a Squier) about 6 months ago. some differences are mine has no pickguard, and the pickup is black instead of white, and mounted with a standard humbucker plastic frame. the thing about these guitars is that as soon as they put the "Squier" label on it, the price goes up. Fender sells these for $200(USD). the one I bought was $70. and with no pickguard and black pickup and knobs, and jack on the side of the body - mine looks better too. and I'd bet mine sounds better than a Squier too. Regardless of which Fender guitar you buy, or the price - just know that the price is always about 2X what it should be.
Squire QC is better than MIM stuff nowadays on what's most important: the neck. I did noticed a couple crooked screws on the pickguard on my Squire classic vibe Jaguar and 40th anniversary JM but the necks are perfect and very comfortable.
This guy is good at the guitar
darn it not offered in white here in the states just black and pink, I get the feeling they are trying to compete with the Kramer Baretta though it's got a hard tail
169 gyro. Good frets. Works. Will it chug?
