Bravo !💐
isnt this a symphony, a baroque symphony rather than a sonata?
Dit is prachtig....👌🌷
As I hear more and more from Telemann, I'm loving his music
What would the world be without music?
Thanks to everyone for this positive feedback. I am so happy that so many people enjoy listening to this piece and recognize the joy it was for me to play it. Performances on natural Trumpet only work with orchestras that are flexible and have the musical horizon and will to make my instrument sound good without any preconditions. To work with this orchestra was a real revelation in that regard!
Wow! Very impressive! Your precision is impeccable! What modern instrument do you play? A Bb 3-valve trumpet?
Your work always inspires me to bring discipline and thoughtfulness to my practice, Thank you!
@@TucsonDude I don't play a lot of modern Instrument at the moment. But yes, of course I do play Bb-flat Trumpet sometimes.
@@allwinds3786 that does make me very happy in return! I wish you fun practice time....
Baroque turmpet is extremely difficult to control without valves and he had handled it perfectly well, both accurately and beautifully played. What a hero !
Small fun trivia: That's a natural trumpet, not a baroque trumpet. They didn't have baroque trumpets in the Baroque era; they only had natural trumpets. The baroque trumpet is an invention of the late 20th century. Baroque trumpets don't have valves, but they do have a finger hole, or sometimes a key. They're an intermediary solution for players who want a more authentic historical sound, but who haven't mastered the extremely difficult art of playing a true natural trumpet.
Natural trumpets are extremely rare, but are becoming increasingly more popular since the 2010s.
True !
I'm doing some researchs on trumpeters of the king of France between XVe & XVIIIe century... If you know about these instruments, I would be very pleased to have conversation with you... And especially on the making of natural trumpets : why all old trumpets that have come to XXIe century are almost all made in Germany ? (even in french and italian museums )@@Timrath
der wunderbare, oft verkannte vielschreiber und herrlicher musikus telemann! will man deutschen barock verstehen, kommt man an ihm nicht vorbei. einfach wundervolle musik!
😊
Da sagen Sie was !
Amazing performance! Julian played the natural trumpet masterfully, and in the true baroque style by holding the trumpet with one hand, and not using the crutch of nodal tuning holes. He also used a rather large mouthpiece, similar to the one depicted in the painting of Bach's first trumpeter Gottfried Reiche. Beautiful tone, so rich and full! Bravo to you all for such a spectacular rendition of this work!
Why do you know that holding it in one hand is the true way of playing? Do you have photos made in the 18th century?
@@eliasmerki3845 there are as many paintings as you want: you just need to google "baroque trumpet paintings" - I have nothing against the holes, but, actually in the baroque period they didn't have any... and the real point would be to play without them in this way. it's very difficult dangerous for intonation especially according to our modern standards (probabily quite different from ancient ones...) so many performers, most performers, prefer to use the holes...
This is THE most beautiful performance of this work I have heard. The vibrancy, elegance and sense of ‘creation of the moment’ is palpable. And the phenomenal trumpet playing of Julian Zimmermann crowns a magnificent achievement.
I agree, but what does sense of 'creation of the moment' mean?
Fully agree.
Largo is sublime !!
@@Ailanto I mean a wonderful sense of spontaneity - as if newly created. :-)
@@paulmaxedlin727 i don't think there is spontaneity in this style of music. I rather think these performances are the result of deep study of the style so they can reproduce it precisely in the same way every time.
@@Ailanto sprezzatura... it does seem natural and effortless... to me... even after all that deep study, and hopefully nothing is ever equal, otherwise why bother playing, or listening?
Beautiful rendition! Julian Zimmermann is an amazing baroque trumpet player!
Danke!!!
Baroque is the best genre of music and this is absolutely beautiful! Almost like heaven on earth!
Exactamente
. Saludos
I totally agree
absolutely agree
So true
Jaaaa!!!!!!!!
Dude must have lungs like a blacksmith’s bellows to play that thing. They are all magnificent musicians, I love baroque music especially played on historically accurate instruments.
Folks, it doesn't take a lot of air to play a brass instrument, whether piccolo trumpet or tuba or sousaphone--otherwise the largest instruments would be unplayable. The sound is produced ENTIRELY by lip vibration against the mouthpiece--and that is affected CONSIDERABLY more by the STRENGTH of the muscles of the mouth and lips than by air volume. The largeness/size (volume) of the instrument affects its tone, deep or high. The length of the tubing (whether by sliding--as with a trombone--or by valves--as with the other instruments) affects the pitch of the notes. That's why a brass player NEEDS to play pretty much EVERY day or he gradually loses muscle control--which means after a several days off your playing is going to suck--certainly with respect to endurance. Uneven front teeth will GREATLY negatively affect a brass player's playing ability, too. All that combined makes brass instruments probably the hardest to learn to play and continue to play. Oh, BTW: I LOVED this piece and the trumpeter's playing of it. (Contrast this with bagpipes. If you don't keep that bag full of air and continually press on it, IT AIN'T PLAYIN'.)
@@lawrencequave7361You misunderstood the original commenter. To play a brass instrument well, one must practice air control. Any professional trumpeter will tell you that it is all in controlling the air. Yes, the lip vibrations are what makes the instrument work, but that is not what the original commenter was referring to 👍🏼.
@@thelad9434 I understand and agree with your comment about air control as I have been playing a trumpet myself for over 60 years. In fact, you helped me make my point in that it is not air volume or velocity that makes a brass instrument's sound. Otherwise, playing a tuba or a sousaphone truly would be impossible. I learned this on my very first encounter with a brass instrument at 11 years old when I took the bugle I had just bought out of its box, put it to my lips, and blew. NOTHING happened. Suddenly I realized, "there's gonna be a lot more to this than I thought." In any case, it's great that we both love brass music such as we've heard here. I appreciate your comment. Thanks.
@@lawrencequave7361 No problem, cool you have been playing for over 60 years. Thats dedication!
@@lawrencequave7361 I learned something. The only thing I don't understand is "tone". Is this the mix of overtones with respect to the first harmonic?
Also is playing brass like whistling, or not at all?
That trumpet is gorgeous
Beautiful music. The body language of the orchestra speaks volumes. Music written hundreds of years ago is still being enjoyed - timeless.
The way he lifts his trumpet right at the beginning already contains the whole piece. ;-)
Astoundingly elegant
New composer to me,new orchestra to me,and all so beautifully played. Thank you!
Nigel Smith,England.
Pure Freude, zu zu hören. 🎶
Telemann is a bit of a forgotten composer. Thanks for keeping him alive, Bremer Barockorchester!
o no I love his music
Telemann is up there with J S Bach, who was his friend, both were great composers and Christians. I have not forgotten him.
This lover of most Baroque music thinks Telemann's "a bit forgotten" because he's a bit boring. 😉
@davehshs651 Telemann is never boring to me! 😊
Heavenly ! The baroque trumpet is so hauntingly beautiful.
Beautiful tone by the trumpeter.
The Introduzione and the Sinfonia ist just heavenly 😍😍😍😍
Everyone is so happy and energetic while playing!!! Love you all!

Wow, I'm completely in love with this!
Magnifique musique, merveilleux musiciens. Merci
Wunderbar, danke!
Geweldig
The performance by the trumpet player is just incredible - how does he do it, with what seems to be so little effort. Amazing!
I LOVE THIS❤️❤️❤️
I love the baroque trumpet, which Mr. Zimmermann plays beautifully. The Bremer Barockorchester is also superb. They are having fun! That's the way it should be.
Wunderschön gespielt. Ganz grosses Kompliment. So lebendig ist "alte Musik".
Bravo!!!👏👏👏👏👏
I love Telemann's pieces. This one is also easy to be loved by people.
Great performance! Gruss Utrecht die Niederlande..
Wow, I can really get to hear the warmth of the gut strings! Beautiful!
absolutely beautiful 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
I never get tired of listening to, and watching the first segment. So inspiring.
My number one man since age 12!
Music of my core and heart!❤️
The haunting melody has a nostalgic, emotional power. No matter where your are from, it can evoke vivid memories and stirring contemplation in the listener's mind. The familiar yet elusive nature of the tune seems to unlock a wellspring of recollections and introspective thoughts. The evocative quality of the music has a transportive effect, leaving the listener with a sense of wistful reflection.
As a flutist, I can only imagine how devilishly hard it is to play all those notes on an instrument with no keys, using only the embouchure to create all those high harmonics. Amazing playing.
I stumbled upon this piece by accident and loved it right away. The beautiful music and the obvious joy of the performers! Wish I can see them perform in Bremen someday. You made my day
💯💯💯👏👏👏👏wish I could have been with you 🌟
Bravo! Bravo from across the Pond in the Pacific Northwest!
Their wonderful and comfortable performance is unrivaled, and off the charts,
What a versatile musician Telemann is !
The magic ingredient in this marvelous performance is the joy on the faces of it's members. Well done, everyone. Especially Julian!
Wonderful recording!
Wunderbar! Immer wieder schön, etwas neues zu entdecken!
What a fabulous performance! It must have been exhilarating to be present.
Star of the show: Trumpet. Fantastic sound and phrasing.
totally true omg
Such elegance. Superb ensemble playing, and trumpet playing to die for. My new favourite early music ensemble
the most magnificent performance I have ever heard of this sonata especialy with a baroque trumpet.
Simply superb.
Superb. So, so beautiful. And the trumpet - wow. Thank you!
Truly wonderful natural (ventless) trumpet playing... Julian is just a wonder to listen to, as is the rest of the ensemble. Bravi Tutti!
Fantastisch!
Magnifique, somptueux
Hmm, eyes closed... dreamscape. Perfect.
WUNDERBAR, JULIAN! DANKE!
Absolutely divine! Everything was so precious! Congratulations! The trumpet player. A genius!
Undoubtedly, in my opinion, the baroque trumpet is one of the most beautiful brass instruments in orchestras, and with Teleman's compositions it gains in beauty together with the rest of the instruments that make it up. Greetings for the excellent performance from the east of the Kingdom of Spain.
It is a natural trumpet, not a baroque trumpet. Greetings from the south of Spain.
Played full of beauty and inspiration, bravi tutti. The orchestra sounds excellent, what a string sound with Stefano. Julian is top. And all of you too. Greatest joy!
Remarkable trumpet player.
in every way remarkable indeed
I 've got addicted to it!!!💓💓💓
So wunderschön! Herzlichen Dank!
Wonderfull, loveley balance, great musicians who love what their playing👏
Wonderful!!
This musicians are having such a good time playing this enchanting music. Such a lovely performance. The soloist is outstanding and holding his baroque trumpet one-handed. Impressive.
Yes! I've goofed around with the sheet music but I never thought it would be this EXCITING! Bravo!! 👏👍 The ornamentation at 8 minutes 48 seconds is amazing bravo!
Fantastic performance and sound! I'm getting more and more obsessed with Telemann.
I didn't know him until I read that Bach sent one of his sons to study under him. Now I know why!
Awesome, stunning stuff!
I am here for Julian Zimmerman, but the music in total is sublime. Thank you.
So macht Barockmusik richtig Freude.
It's hard to believe how masterfully he handles the baroque trumpet. That's some incredible level of skill! Congrats
BRAVOOO !!!
BRAVISSIMO!
Amazing! Bravo! Thanks! 🌷🌹🌷🌹🌷
Das ist ja unglaublich....großartig.
What a great way to start my morning prayer time!

I love every single aspect of this, including the fact that you have a large audience sitting here for an instrumental music concert! So rare in the US unless it's the Top Hits of JS Bach. Looking forward to more Telemann from this fabulous group.
excellent thank you love classical music
Absolutely sublime. Thank God we have musicians to bring us such joy.🇬🇧
This is to be enjoyed by both the audience and the players.
Brilliant!
I have already listened several versions of this concert. This is the best. Thank you
I have listened to this 89 times now. It is wonderful when a group enjoy the play. The cellist exemplifies this.
Wunderschön. Eine herrliche Aufführung! Vielen herzlichen Dank.
This is the best performance I have ever heard , I will hope this is comming on cd very soon ! .
