Hi Michel! Thanks so much for watching our video, so glad we helped you take a trip down memory lane. It's definitely one of our favorite places in Italy!

Cinque Terre is amazingly beautiful, I remember having the best pesto pasta with an amazing view from Corniglia.
"This was great to watch!" Besides the excellent camera work I like the information provided and the positive Vibes that You, two give off. Thank You, for the motivation and inspiration.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Hope you'll continue on the journey with us. 👍 -Howard
I agree. Did you use a regular selfie stick or something with image stabilization?
So beautiful! Definitely have to get back to Italy and explore the Cinque Terra. I’ve heard food sensitivities being better in other countries from numerous people various places. It is always gelato time! 🍨
Wow. Beautiful......
Merry Christmas.
The best cinque terre video!
My best friend, Great... We liked and enjoyed to the end. Thanks Have a happy day!
Spectacular!
Subscribed. Thanks for this video. Can’t wait to go 😎
Craig, enjoy! When are you heading to Italy? Keep us posted and let us know what you think after your visit! 👍 -Howard
Absolutely breathtaking area! We are going to Italy for the first time next May on a tour.
The food looked very awesome!
Thank you 🙏🏻 I have plans to visit this October. I hope the weather is good, not cold and not raining.
October was the time of our visit in 2021 and pleased to say that the weather was PERFECT. It is a bit more of a gamble during that time, but the reward is a less crowded experience. 👍 -Howard
Amazing places to visit!
Amazing place ❤ thanks for sharing 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you'll continue on the journey with us. 👍 -Howard
Gotta say… you both are very informative and adorable… love your happy personalities 😊
Thanks, Sharon! Glad you found us and hope you'll continue on the journey! 👍 -Howard
Thank you so much! This is one of the best travel videos I have seen on YT with realistic travel tips. Looks like an amazing place, we can’t wait to visit thanks to your recommendations ❤
After the live the other night I watched the Dodo episode on Scout. Tear jerker extraordinare. 😫💕
My favorite things from this episode
Food All Day
Trick question - it's always gelato time
And I think we need pasta curtains for our van build. You know, just in case. 🤣
Beautiful and picturesque. It says a lot about me though that I told my husband it reminds me of Portofino Bay at Universal Studios in Orlando and not the other way around. 🙄
Thank you so much for sharing with us. Still can't believe you only had 2 small suitcases and backpacks. 😲
-Troy & Aimee
We chose Sarzana as a base to visit the Cinque Terre and it was a fantastic choice. Walking in the evening between concerts and vintage markets was so nice and fortunately not very touristy. We recommend it
Nicely done!
So so fun 😊
Nice work! 👍
Cheers for the tips folks, we're headed to Piza for our honeymoon in September and a trip to Cinque Terre is high on the to do list.
I'll be visiting Cinque Terre this August. This video is informative. I hope the summer heat won't be overbearing.
Glad we were helpful! It will be hot, but the coastal winds will hopefully help some. Keep us posted on your trip and what you think of the area! 👍 -Howard
LOL, glad I've just finished my dinner, not always the case.Often I'm slowly starving while watching you kids eat.
Love that place
Great Video!!!
Thanks, Wade! 👍 -Howard
Thank you for this video. It was nice to watch this morning. I was motivated and am now planning a trip to Italy :) how many days were you in Cinque Terrer?
Beautiful 😍
Great vlog
I’ll be on cruises that will dock in La Spezia and Genoa. I plan to visit cinque terre via train for the time allotted before ship departure. Thanks for sharing:)
Schiachetrà wine (erroneously called Schiacchetrà) is a fine DOC dessert and fortified wine produced in the Cinque Terre. Schiachetrà is made from Bosco (60%), Albarola and Vermentino (40%) grape varieties. Greetings from Firenze (Florence)
Great information! We will be visiting there in a week...staying in Manarola
Wow, Mark, have a great time! Please keep us updated on what you find during your visit and share new discoveries for future visits! 👍 -Howard
Stumbled into your channel looking for tips for Cinque Terre. We are lucky planning to see it this Sept! So excited. Just subscribed! You guys are great to watch. ☺️
So glad you found us! You will love Cinque Terre, it is incredible and so breathtakingly beautiful. Thanks so much!! 😊 -Katelyn
Mee to in Sept when are you going in Sept?
@@fksunkissed we’ll be there Sept 4-6 in Cinque Terre. ☺️ what about you?
@@alengmakesplans5452 oh I'm going the 22
I’m really loving your channel. We were in Cinque in 2017! I’m eager to see if we loved the same things
Dave, can't thank you enough for all the kinds words and glad you're enjoying our Italy series! 👍 -Howard
OMG this video is spectacular 🙌😃. We will be there in September. Favorite hotel was in the first town?
So I watched your travel vlog to Cinque Terre then I watched the Disney movie Luca. And I thought that some of the locations in the movie looked familiar...so similar to the shots you had in your vlog of the colorful buildings, pristine water, and rolling hills. Apparently the director of the movie is from the area and used Cinque Terre as inspiration for the setting of this movie!
Great videos. You both have so much fun in your videos. I’m looking forward to going to Cinque Terre this September. I’ll check out that focaccia in Monterosa and will not hike Vernazza to Coniglia 😅
Thanks so much Craig! Hope you have a wonderful time, it's such an incredible place. And yes, haha you've been warned!! 😅
Am going there february 2024. My second trip to Italy ❤. Hello from Malaysia 😊
Fantastic, hope you have a GREAT time in Italy! What's on the itinerary for this trip? Hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 - Howard
Thank you so much for the video and information! We are headed to cinque terre soon and will use so many of your tips. How did you get licensed to drone in Italy? The videos are amazing.
Beautifull video, Beautifull Couple ❤❤❤❤ In the first 2 min i know i will subscribe.. 😉😉
Awh, thanks so much, Adriana! We're so glad you're along for the journey! ♥️
I'm from la spezia too. It's very nice to see my city with other eyes 😊
Oh we loved La Spezia! It's beautiful. So glad you found our video 🥰❤️
Sometimes we need an other perspective to appreciate what we have
Great video! As someone who also made a Cinque Terre video, I have to say MANAROLA is the besttttttttt ;) Wish I woudl have hiked a section, sounds like you had an epic trip, well done!
Thanks, Jackson! Yes, if you can take one of the hikes in the park, it is an incredible part of the experience. Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard
So glad I found your video! I’m gluten free here in the states and we are planning a trip to Italy in October including Cinque Terre! Good to know there are gluten free options there! 1/15/23
Beth, glad our episode is helpful for your trip! We have a link for gluten free options in Cinque Terre in the video description. You CAN have an amazing time in Italy even avoiding gluten! 👍 -Howard
we stayed in Monterosso... its a lovely town..
Thank you for an informative video! Were you there in early October or later? You are wearing warmer clothes than i expected. thanks again!
Jenny, thanks so much! It was the third week of October, but fall is certainly mild along the coast. Like we joked, bring layers! 😂 Glad you found our channel and hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 -Howard
What is the brand of Howard’s 3/4 zip pullover? Great idea for everyday wear. Great vid.
Just spent a few days in La Spezia and travelled to Cinque Terre over 2 days - also spent some time in Manarolo the 5th town where you can jump off the rocks to swim - the town is the least beautiful of the 5 - we hiked from Monteresso to Vernazza which took 1h 20 min and is relatively easy - we are in our early 60’s - the hike from
Corniglia to Manarolo took 2h and is tough (reverse route even tougher)
Howard’s a leatherman guy💪😎👏🤣
This video was incredibly helpful in planning our trip! Thank you so much for all the information. Over the course of How many days was the entire trip you showed in this video?
So glad you found it helpful! You will have a great time, it's an incredible place. We arrived on a Monday afternoon and left on Thursday morning and we were able to fit all that in and not feel super rushed. The towns are VERY close together! You could certainly spend more time if you wanted. Hope that helps! -Katelyn
My husband and I are planning a trip to CT in May. Your video is absolutely amazing and helpful !! I was trying to find a link that you were going to list where you stayed because that looks like an amazing place. Are you able to list that on here?
Melanie, thanks so much and glad you found us! We did link to it (look under "where we stayed in La Spezia" beneath the chapters), and would still 100% recommend staying in La Spezia. Very economical and super quick train rides to any of the 5 towns. Hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 - Howard
Wow! You two are just so beautiful.. thank you for sharing your Cinque Terre holiday.
By the way, is last week of March ok to go there?
Thanks
Thanks so much! Our trip was in October, March would also be shoulder season in Italy so likely lower crowds. The challenge with early spring is that some places/shuttles are not open for the season yet, versus in the fall you can catch them before the stop for the year. For example, the water taxi service only runs seasonally, so you will need to check their site to confirm dates of operation. 👍 -Howard
love the content, really helpful... thank you... can you tell me if you took the coastal train from Rome to la Spezia or did you take the other train? I'll be doing the same as you in October and I think the coastal train would be a pretty ride ..but I am scared to death of navigating it all.
Thanks so much and great questions! We took the more central train (it was faster/less stops), but if you have the time take the coastal. When you arrive in La Spezia, it's just a brief walk from the station into the center of town. Lots of accomodation options there, and then the train ride into Cinque Terre (from the same station) is only 10-15 minutes. The beauty of the passes we purchased was it provides unlimited train rides and shuttle busses, which makes it effortless to just hop on the next train to keep exploring the area. 👍 -Howard
Liked your video, thanks for the great tips. My husband and I will be visiting on October 26, when in October did you go? We are worried about the rain. Thank you.
I think you'll have a great time! Everyone warns of the rain in shoulder season, but truthfully we had great weather for the majority of our time there. The benefits of lower crowds definitely outweighs possible weather, BUT be sure to check the schedule for the water taxis to see if they are still running that late in October (they are seasonal). Let us know if you have other questions and keep us posted on how your trip goes! 👍 -Howard
Excellent video you guys a very likable . we are going in May and are so psyched. Do you guys drone at all because I heard drones aren't permitted in cinque terra
Thanks so much and glad our episode was helpful for your planning! May is a busier time, but I have no doubt it's going to be a great time.
Like many places, flying a drone in Cinque Terra (an Italian National Park) is forbidden unless you receive specific permission and a permit from the governing agency. If you are looking to do so, I will forewarn that it isn't an easy, fast, or cheap option so you might want to skip it and fly elsewhere. However, flying a drone in Italy can be straightforward depending on whether you are flying recreationally or for commercial purposes in most areas of the country. Here's a helpful link to more info on drone regulations in Italy:
www.drone-made.com/post/italy-drone-laws
@@NewstateNomads yeah based I. What I read I think I’ll leave my drone home.
Camera work here is stunning. I just checked your Amazon page on gear. Clearly you didn't shoot this on just the Pixel 4 and GoPro Hero 7. What's your main camera these days? (I can't wait to go back to Cinque Terre!)
Actually, we DID shoot this with only a Pixel 4 and a GoPro (though we've updated to a 10 with MediaMod and still use our wireless mics). 😎 Thanks for all the kind words, always happy to answer tech questions about our episodes! 👍 -Howard
Heading to Italy next week and planning to visit Cinque Terre. Where did you go to get the train pass? I'm also staying in La Spezia. Thanks for the helpful video!
Happy to hear our video was helpful! Be sure to check out the rest of our Italy series, for areas on your route. The train pass was super simple to get, and the office we showed is right at the train station in La Spezia. 👍 Have a great time and please let us know what you find during your trip! -Howard
@@NewstateNomads I watched the rest of your Italy videos too. Thanks for the reply!
How many days did you spend visiting the towns? Any recommendation on the number of days to visit?
Loved the video! Very informative! Thank you! I was in Cinque Terre this week (June 2022) with every other tourist post COVID and it was NOT with it. It was crowded over rated and overpriced. Don’t expect a pretty cool icy ire without tourist like in the video. It felt like the Disney world of Italy! I don’t recommend for the budgeting tourist. Bars are crowded and some were closed due to staffing. Service is terrible and they won’t sit a couple or group that is not ordering a full dinner or meal because it’s not worth the business. They want you to spend enough to make it worth their time. I’d recommend other cities in the area or northern Italy instead! Don’t mean to sound negative but I want to be real! :)
Great video!! Thank you!! My boyfriend and I are going to Milan, then Cinque Terre (staying in Vernazza) and then to Rome. Total trip will be about a week and a half. I’m not the best at packing light 😬 but know I need to! Could you give recommendations on what were the essentials of your trip as far as clothes/accessories/bags were?
Hi Jillian! You're going to have an amazing time. My biggest advice would be comfortable shoes! Cinque Terre is extremely hilly with lots of stairs. I wore tennis shoes one day and was very glad I did. We did the whole 3 week trip with one carry on each of clothes. 😆 What time of year will you be there?
@@NewstateNomads thank you for the reply! We are going end of September to beginning of October. Milan for 4 days, Cinque Terre for 2, Rome for 4 :)
My boyfriend is a tshirt and shorts kind of guy when he’s not working, but he read casual attire like that isn’t so accepted in Italy. Do you know if that’s true?
Any help you could offer is so appreciated!
Great Video - Italy's a bucket list item for me... Curious about what kind of back pack you had on your walk arounds. It looks comfortable and stylish. Do you also speak the language ?
Thank you! Italy is amazing! We don't speak the language, but learned important phrases and did the best we could! The bag we have is listed here in our Amazon shop, although it's currently listed as out of stock. amzn.to/3HExGPR
@@NewstateNomads thanks so much
@Newstate Nomads Which months did you go to Italy?
Do the restaurants in Cinque Terre accept credit cards or is it cash only?
I’m gluten intolerant and have a hiking trip planned for the same area. Please tell me more about what’s safe for me to eat there. You appear to be eating all kinds of great food. Are you really gluten intolerant as well. Thanks in advance for the info.
Can anyone tell me what's the name of this music at 14:32?
For the info of peeps, being gluten intolerant is more than just having an allergy. It is very serious. Celiac Disease is an extremely serious condition and if undiagnosed is very damaging to the body. Most peeps go undiagnosed for years (some are never diagnosed) and by that time the damage is done. Having a simple blood test is recommended.
Can I ask what part of October you went? Wondering what to wear for the first week of October. Does a high of 74 still feel like long sleeves?
Hey Sara, it was the middle of October, but like you mentioned that's a tricky time of year for weather. My advice would be to dress in layers. When the sun's out, or if on a hike, you'll appreciate having a lighter layer. At night, it does get chilly enough for a light jacket. Hope that helps and let us know how your trip goes! 👍 -Howard
cool video, friendly fyi @12:22 Ligurian: Lee-goo-rean instead of La-gweh-rean :)
It might mean or have meant terraces at one time.
