  • The judges think that Lily’s outfit was a little bit cheap and that could ruin her shot at the crown.

I dislike these mothers for not realizing just how real that danger can be, that those girls could get followed until they are teens and violated. Might just be my paranoid mind though.
But these mothers, oh my goodness chill they are little girls they need to be outside building sand castles and eating bugs and playing with dolls like dont make them grow up to 14 when their 4! @@lessehead If you look at a child or a group of children and the terms "sexual" or "sexualized" come to mind, that's on you. Children certainly do not trigger sexual innuendo in my mind. But I can only speak for myself. What many people fail to realize is that a number of these kids are discovered by talent agencies and go on to have successful careers with companies like Disney and Nickelodeon. Many of these kids with musical talent are discovered and signed by major recording labels. Stars like Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, and countless others got their start in beauty pageants. Please don't get me wrong here. I'm not glorifying all child beauty pageants. Some pageant systems are not legitimate. The directors care only about money and do not promote child talent. In fact, in 2020, there are far fewer legitimate national pageant systems than there were 15 to 20 years ago. Good pageant systems build self-confidence, improve self-esteem, values and morals for the kids who compete. Top contenders also earn a comfortable six figures a year in cash and prizes. I am referring to those contestants who compete in multiple pageant systems year round. I judge pageants on the national circuit, and only for accredited and legitimate systems. I should also note that I rarely judge for these Glitz pageant systems. Rather, I tend to stick to all natural systems, where hair pieces, flippers, heavy makeup and fake hair pieces are not permitted. We encourage a "soft" look, with minimal makeup and simple, soft hairstyles. I can certainly agree that it's the unaccredited, illegitimate pageant systems that create a negative stigma for all pageants.

Wow. You guys are really getting mad at a child for messing up. She’s a child. Children make mistakes. She recovered from it pretty well. You people are why the other little girl is crying. Her crying and saying “It’s my fault” is an example of the negative mindset she has weighing her down. This mindset is caused by you people. So many people watching her, getting mad that she didn’t win. She knows that her winning makes her mom happy. That’s why she cried. These pageants for literal toddlers are a bad thing to make them do. It causes them to grow up with this same mindset. “I need to win or my mom will cry” These pageants are clearly not for fun. They are for the parent’s own enjoyment. It is not a good thing for a kid to grow up doing. The parents are bad people for doing this to their children.

See the problem with this is. This precious little girl had a melt down when she did not win because her mom has put so much pressure on her to win. When she did not win, just notice the mom's reaction, she is defeated, angry and pissed. This is projected onto the little girl who now thinks it's her fault and she is the reason for her mom's unhappiness. You see the mom says that it is 'her' dream but it's infact, the mom's dream which she has groomed her daughter into. This is just very stressful for the child and a recipe for emotional and self esteem issues later on. Pageants involving anyone below 18 should be banned

I'll make it easy for you. You should've just bought her the car yourself for 1/10th of what it cost you to put her in that pageant. That is all.

If Lily's weirdo mother had any sense, she wouldn't have spent so much on the pageant, and could have bought Lily the car.

I cannot believe the judge said "The fabric was cheap" Lilly looked beautiful and worked so hard. While the other girl got supreme and messed up didn't know where to go and the judged LIKED their dress? So I guess it's all about the dresses now. Don't get me wrong I'm so proud of them but that judge had it all wrong.

My mother always told me, when you cry over nothing God will give you something to really cry about. These little girls are going to grow up with some major issues and they can thank their mother’s and grandmothers for that.

Apparently the Mom's are living their lives vicariously through their daughters - and that is a horrific truth. This is a form of child abuse. The Mom's need to act their age and allow the 4yr old daughters to do the sam2e.

This whole kiddy pageant thing is wrong on so many levels. These little girls should be playing with their dolls or riding their bicycles or climbing trees - not prancing around on stage with full make up and hair.

These children are not competing. Their mothers are. And these poor beautiful baby girls are thinking they are not enough. These moms are the ones who are truly crying and "hate loosing" this is ridiculous

Mothers are literally doing this to their children. They are projecting onto toddlers everything they can't be. This should be illegal, honestly.

Children's pageants where minors of any age ranging from 1 to 18 prance around stage and get judged is almost child abuse. Forcing children who cant make decisions for themselves to get up on stage with a hideous dress and fake hair, fake eyelashes, fake teeth and prance around for a few low lives to judge them and criticise them based on their appearances just so their parents can live vicariously through them is just wrong on so many levels. They have to spend all their spare time around bitchy adults who pressure them to the moon and back to look perfect and learning how to walk on a stage looking fake as hell. The pressure of it, the judging and the need to look like other peoples ideas of perfect is what will give all those children not only self esteem issues and body image issues but also a life they lead with the bitchy, petty and self centred attitudes that everyone they grew up around forced on them. That child didn't care that she wasn't the prettiest because she didn't even understand exactly what she was getting judged on. She just understood she had to get up and look good to make her mother happy She cared that she didn't get the toy car and she cried because her mother and grandmother were crying at the fact that she lost the competition to see whos child is the prettiest

This is all about the parents trying to fill some void in their own lives. This cant be healthy for the little girls being judged on their appearance at such a young age. Shame on the parents for putting them through this. Not good.
