      my 2002 Altima now costs 110$ to fuel.
      Good thing a huge mining corporations pays for my truck gas, because no one can afford 320$ of gas every 2 days (I do lots of mileage for work).
      And guess what? Its a huge "India owned" corpo that pays no taxes.
      Thank Clown in office, I hope the worse for you.

      Cry me a river Alberta. You live in the lowest taxation province in the country. Come on out to BC where we pay HST and 40% higher for gas. Remember each household get's rebated more back than they spend per year. How's that a bad deal? And Pierre for PM? What's his plan to reduce carbon emissions? Oh that's right he doesn't have one. So under Pierre there'll be no taxes but I'm sure we will all enjoy floods and fires. Now if your recent fill up has you thinking about ways to reduce your gas costs then the tax has done its job.

    • @Comedy4The21Century

      @@Kumacattv lol how’s socialism working for ya? Clearly not well if you’re crying about gas prices out there. Dude, paying more for gas is not stopping fires on either side of our border.
      I’m sure you’re going old enough to remember when forest management was a proper form of reducing fires. But technology needs to be leveraged and it needs to be viable - otherwise we’re overpaying for poor ideas.
      Heard of nuclear, hydro or solar? I’m not against green projects or power - but I am against morally bankrupt elitists like yourself, who think you’re saving the world by taxing people erroneously - during an affordability crisis. But, okay boomer 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @Comedy4The21Century
      @Comedy4The21Century Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@Kumacattv that's why I don't live in BC - I certainly don't receive more back than I pay into the Carbon tax. But paying an arbitrary tax for gas & home heating is not stopping those fires now.. is it? Also I'm sure you're old enough to remember forest management was a thing in Canada that also reduced fires.
      Absolutely Pierre for PM - you heard of technology? Nuclear, Solar, Hydro, LNG, Hydrogen - if we have the right tech, at the right price then we can prosper. Under the NDP/Liberals we pay BILLIONS for poor ideas and a punitive tax, during a cost of living crisis no less.
      LOL the only thing the tax does is make me lose respect for morally bankrupt people like yourself who think an erroneous tax is somehow saving the country or environment. Your entitlement is showing, but okay boomer 🤷‍♂

    Everyone should be demanding that politicians answer this simple question
    "Why are you taxing something that is not only beneficial but also absolutely critical to life on earth".
    CO2 is GREAT for the planet, its warming effect is minimal, just enough to improve plant growth and its fertilization effects are critical to keeping the planet supplied with food. over the last 50 years 3rd world crop yields per hectare have doubled thanks to CO2 and because of that deaths from famine are at an all time low when the world population that needs feeding is at an all time high.
    CO2 is like any other radiation shield it has to obey the inverse square law so it CANNOT cause a runaway unless every molecule of CO2 causes the production of more than one more molecule of CO2. which it cannot.
    The warming effect of CO2 has been measured and it is 3.7W/m2 (or about 0.7 degrees C) per doubling, increasing CO2 to 850ppm will increase CO2's warming effect by 0.7 degrees. and to get another 0.7 degrees warming effect CO2 would need to increase to 1700ppm. no where near enough to override the effects of solar variability. which has taken the planet into and out of ice ages without the help of CO2.

    • @davebrown6552
      @davebrown6552 Před 3 měsíci

      The climate is controlled by the sun's variability and the planet's orbit, The Milankovitch Cycles have 25 times more effect on the climate than any doubling of CO2. (ie CO2 at either 1 or 33 million 'ppm' could not overcome the effect of natural orbital changes)
      Over the short term the planet has been 2 degrees warmer and a couple of degrees colder without any significant change in CO2. CO2 is a follower bot a driver.
      The last time CO2 was at 400ppm the planet cooled.
      The last time CO2 was at 800ppm the planet cooled.
      The last time CO2 was at 1000ppm the planet cooled.
      The last time CO2 was at 2000ppm the planet cooled.
      No level of CO2 has every prevented the planet from cooling.

    The carbon tax is revenue to pay the interest on its ballooning debt so it can keep issuing bonds to expand the ever growing public sector, in the name of keeping Canadians safe and making things affordable.

    Sad thing is, even if Pierre gets elected, and I pray that he does, we will still be left with an overpaid government and a mess to clean up. I wish Mr. Poilievre luck. 🤷‍♂️. Come to think about it, maybe it’s not too much money?

    • @Kumacattv
      @Kumacattv Před 3 měsíci

      It really isn't. Right now it's a good deal for most Canadians. A single persons get's $900 back per year. As the tax goes up so do the rebate amounts. The rebate is different for everyone but do the math. We live in BC and so far we've gotten more back than we pay. And the federal program pays more than BC's does. Also Pierre doesn't have a plan for climate change. There are costs associated with doing nothing as well. Yes administering the tax is probably a nightmare but if someone fills up their car at the pump and starts thinking about how to reduce their costs (ie carbon emissions) then the tax has done it's job.

    I hear you it is supposed to increase costs by minimal amounts nation wide...so we get creative and innovative...to encourage high insulation, high efficiency, electric semi trucks, green hydrogen trains, low cost renewables in every region, air sourced heat pumps, electric heated floors, grid batteries, tiny wood stoves, new transmission lines...but we also need good policy to channel large private investment especially for major national infrastructure like a national grid connecting all our provinces.

    If govt wants to give something back then it must credit the amount into our accounts. Why take anything from us in the first place???
    Oh... I get it. You take from all but give those to the rich. What an idea sir?
    A common man working in a company doesn't get any tax rebates. But a contract employee in the same company not only gets higher salary but pays less tax. He too comes to office via his car but he can show the expenses like fuel used, he can show his home expenses as office expenses etc. etc. How is that fair??? Rich people get richer and we are left to suffer. People say it is democracy. By the way, democracy by definition is For the people, By the people and Of thr people. Is it so??? It is For the capitalist, by the capitalist and of the capitalist.
    Income is income. More income should attract more taxes. Not otherwise around.
