Beyond magnificent. This music reveals the great man's amazing range and tonal richness. A voice for all time. Others may approach but I doubt if any will ever surpass
Sono passati quasi 100 anni dalla sua morte.Caruso ti emoziona dalla prima all'ultima nota come nessun altro ci e' mai riuscito e ci riuscira' mai.La sua voce e' insuperabile e trasmette tutto il contenuto emotivo del pezzo musicale. Incredibilmente avvolgente, troppo distante dagli altri.
This piece of music makes you wish Christmas came all year round and not just once in the new year, people say it's unlucky to listen to carols before Christmas but it could be any time in the year I just go back to them, I just can't stop myself. 🌲🎉❄️☃️, Notice the emojis, it's only August. 🙂.

Thank you, brilliant , with little recording technic, still the voice is great. Don't know why people compare, Caruso, Lanza, Pavarotti. They are all terrific in their own right. The recordings are more advanced with time. Thanks to all of them to leave as such a treasured legacy!!! Many thanks to the uploader to give us a chance to hear that excellent voice again !!!
Great beauty of voice, saxybarney is right, we should stop comparing these singers. All of them were excellent. Caruso of course is in a special class. Here he is perfect. Thanks for posting.

I have 1 original caruso recording around 1912 my friend has a old gramaphone and we see each other she plays it fo me it sounds like he is in the room
It has to be a pure privilege to have that, treasure it with your heart and soul, I would, I'd feel like I'd won the lottery a dozen times over. 🤗❄️⛄🎄. Have a very merry Christmas and happy new year when they come.

Ahhhhh the Magnificient Caruso is fantastic. It all depends of your equipment i suspose. My Mother-in-law loved Caruso and would have appreciated this upload. Thank you so much for sharing.
O Holy Night is the English version of the French "Cantique de Noël". The original words were written by the poet Placide Cappeau and the powerful music composed by Adolphe Adam. The song was premiered in 1847 by the French opera singer Emily Laurey. It has become a favourite for crossover sopranos - the best of whom is the Norway’s Sissel - but the best version of all is arguably this record by Caruso sung in French in 1916.
Don't agree. This is sloppy singing. Georges Thill (with no Italianate effects) is much much better. It's a religious song, not a hello Mimi song. Thill takes the high note incidentally, Caruso makes a ten act opera out of it. Not for me.
@@kurtganzl4290 Thill sings nasally throughout the entire voice - especially his high notes, which is even more inappropriate for religious material. Maybe by "italianate effects" you mean not believing singing in French ensnares one to adding nasality to every vowel? The "hello mimi" observation is nonsense. You don't like Caruso, just say that, instead making up some bullshit to justify your preference.
Man, if this is sloppy singing, then I have to admit that I LOVE sloppy singing! Art is not about perfection, it’s about stirring up emotion and this certainly does that. Another thing to consider is that modern singers usually get a hundred takes where in Caruso’s time, recordings were usually done in one take.

Here he sings through all registers. Deep, middle, high. The voice in all registers remains exiting. Caruso was a baritenor with a warm deep base. I❤

As music and restoring old recordings was my metier for many years, I must say this restoration is brilliant.
True, this is not just a restoration but an addition of the orchestra, Carusoe sang it into a horn with a handful of instruments.
