SoulCalibur 2 is the best in the series. You know that was the best when scribe everyone after it copy pasted the moves and only changed the graphics.
3 was better...
SC 3 was better than 2. It had improved gameplay and it added new stuff like character creation and Chronicles of sword. But still, the best in the series is SC 1

SC1 had better gameplay, better arenas, graphics that are still good to this day, one of the best soundtracks in gaming history. SC2 didn't add much to the game. No title in the series surpassed SC1

I get why people love SC2 - i've got all 3 console versions myself - but SC on dreamcast was a port that surpassed the arcade original and was one of the greatest games of all time.

I've loved Soulcalibur until Soulcalibur V came out, it was a huge mistake by them for putting an annoying protagonist instead of Siegfried lol
+Ananchel Sterben still a good game except the story , Siegfried isn't that interesting

I still play 3-5 on my Ps2 and Xbox 360, my favorite has to be 3, I used to have all of the others but got rid of them a long time ago :'( and Yun-Seoung will always be my favorite, maybe Nightmare as well even though I always have a hard time beating him then rage quit

Depends on the region. It can be referred to as Soul Blade, or Soul Edge. I hear Soul Edge mostly, but neither is wrong.
It was called Soul Edge in arcades, but Soul Blade for its PS1 console release.
Apparently they couldn’t call it Soul Edge because some company was suing of the use of “Edge” in the title of a lot of games, but they were eventually closed when they tried that nonsense with Mirror’s Edge. Sucks but that’s what happened so the name is Soul Blade if you’re trying to find it. (I believe it’s on PSN if you can’t find a physical disc of it)

Man I was hoping to come hear to know the soul caliber game story I have soul caliber 4 becuse I wanted to play as star wars characters (huge star wars fan) but the game confuses me when I try to understand the story can someone tell me what is soul caliber and soul edge who r seigfeild and nightmare and what's the point of the game like it's base story mortal kombat was to win tournaments to save the realms so what's soul calibers???
The messenger There are videos to help you answer that question. But basically, Soul Calibur is a game where two swords are formed, Soul Edge and Soul Calibur, one demonic and one holy. Each character has a reason to go for these weapons if you go into their backstory in files and such in a few games. But the two at the forefront are Nightmare and Siegfried. Siegfried wanted to use Soul Edge to avenge his father's killer, but was corrupted by the blade and became Nightmare and began taking people's souls. Siegfried breaks free but Nightmare has enough souls to become his own entity, and thus the two class with Soul Edge and Soul Calibur for a final battle in SC4.
That is the main plot but a lot of stuff happens that is told throughout the games with other characters.

I hope we do.... they should do something like a Soul Caliber Anniversary... come to think of it 2018 might be a good time to do that.
However with such a game, they should License and bring back EVERY LAST guest character, and system they had... as well as some new ones :D
Basically combine every souls game mode into one celebration game :D
None of that DLC BSery, just pay once.... and there will be a special collecters edition with Full Scale, replica of one of 6 ether Soul Edges or Calibers... so it is basically 12 a chance for one of 12 weapons :D
