its a everyday thing for intermediate level repair personnel... at the squadron level its just remove and replace engines ...and r/r components as far as the pubs allow...and that time allows...if it takes mor ethan a shift or two to trouble shoot a screwy engine usually they pull it to save time and let the i level figure out what was wrong. but yeah...at i level we break them down to the bare modules...and replace internals, build up and run them...then can them and send them back to fleet.
since you have the engine apart I'm assuming your at least direct support level. I was First Cav direct support at Hood for 6 years as a 68D and a 68B now 15D and 16B. where are you stationed?
