Sri.A. KaliyaMurthy has rendered incredible service in the TamilNadu Police Services for over 35 years in different roles and assignments at Trichy, Coimbatore & Chennai.
Sri.A.Kaliya Murthy , who hails from Budalur, Thanjavur District, had his humble beginnings in a farmers family. He rose to the level of Superintendent of Police in the Department, just due to his sheer dedication, selfless service and hard work.
In the All India police duty meet and shooting competitions held at Nasik (1980), Lucknow (1982), Kashmir (1985) Mr.Kalimurthy represented Tamil Nadu and won
hat trick Medals thus bringing laurels and honours to the state of Tamilnadu.
150 Good Service Entries and 37 Meritorious Service Entries in the records of the police department stands testimony to his sincerity and conviction.
Sri Kaliyamurthy due to his concerted efforts arrested two culprits risking his own life and was awarded the Gallantry Medal by the then Tamilnadu, Chief Minister.
In 2001, at Chennai in a shootout with the terrorists he was injured in the arm and inspite of the injury managed to shoot down two terrorists for which act the Tamilnadu Govt. gave him an accelerated promotion. He the goodwill of the Chief Ministerand other superiors of Tamilnadu for several such actions during his meritorious service spanning several decades.
He was also given the responsibility as Chief of Special team for successfully eliminating rowdyism in the Delta Districts within a period of six months, which gained immense public recognition for this people’s man.
He was again responsible for Traffic Safety Awareness in the city of Trichy, by bringing in technology through modern gadgets and for reducing the accident rate drasticall.
He is still remembered for his overnight arrest of 100 burglars at Ramji Nagar, Trichy in 2008 and helped in transforming them to become good citizens for which he was sanctioned Rs.1.00 Crore for their rehabilitation.
In 2008 Our President A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, bestowed on him the President’s award for meritorious service.
The only officer in the rank of a District Superintendent of Police to receive a ‘ceremonial parade’ on his retirement, all police officials, state ministers along with dignitaries present, appreciated the excellent work rendered by Sri. Kaliyamurthy. This felicitation function held at Anna Stadium, was attended by thousands of his admirers where he was lauded for his sincere and untiring efforts. Maybe, a rare officer, whose uniform size remained the same from the day he adorned it till the date of his super annuation. A fitness freak, this police officer sure maintains his service routine till date. A ROLE MODEL indeed, to the entire police fraternity and to the public, then, now and always.
His wife Smt. Suryakala is a fortunate mother of 2 children both eminent medical practitioners as also their spouses.Their son Dr. Ananth M.D., daughter Smt. Parimala Rani M.D.,daughter in law Dr.Keerthana Priyadarshini DNB , and son in law Dr.Karthikeyan. M.S (ortho) are very popular among the masses. Rendering low cost and free medical services in their hometown is proof of their service mind and philanthropic nature. At the same time, naming their own hospital as
“SURIYA HOSPITALS” shows their love and gratitude towards their mother, Smt. Suryakala.
As a step towards proving his interest towards betterment of the society we live,
Mr. Kaliamurthy gives motivational and inspirational speeches which attract lakhs of students and thousands from the teaching community. Let this noble cause of the iron man continue to enlighten the public at large.

I am a mother to a 30yr old son and a have a wonderful daughter in law. All the stories I hear from you looks like its a story telling time for me. Please stop this so that the listeners will not be blindly brainwashed by you. Don't instill guilt for your benefit. Karma will work against you for sure.
Do you really understand the context of his speech or are you just pretending to hide your guilt? Today's generation many do not have the love for their parents. They just send some money to their parents and hope they can survive by themselves. What the children do not realize is that the parents need physical presence of the children, to see. touch hold . hug and talk to them, love them and be with them for a brief time which will make them happy. Talking of Karma...you just know nuts. A soul needs a body to relinquish whatever it's karma is.The parents are the body providers and during the child's growth love and possessiveness make the parents to raise their children not realizing the child will be on it's own one day to face his/her karma.He instilling some story telling is not brainwashing but some facts to ponder! Shame on you.
How many sons have gone crazy, became alcoholics and have violent behaviours because of some mothers controlling characters. People like you instill fear and guilt. They lose their thinking abilities and lose their lives.
